From New York Times Bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes a new standalone book. Just how hot will firefighter Grady Malone turn up the heat?

Songwriter Dylan McCoy has been burned.

By her boyfriend she found in her bed... with someone else.

By the contract she signed that obligates her to work with him until the songs for his new album are complete.

By her agent when she asked Dylan to keep their breakup on the down-low.

When she finds herself in Sunnyville, she refuses to let her new roommate burn her too. Still... a rebound has never looked so good.

That’s her first thought when she sees firefighter Grady Malone. Sexy. Charismatic. Unapologetic. He’s a man who carries his own scars — the ones on his back, the survivor’s guilt on his soul, and the fear in his heart.

When an unexpected visitor puts their roommate status to the test, will their undeniable attraction burn out, or will they both take a chance and play with fire?

What can I say about Grady Malone other than he surprised me? I was aiming to write a sexy, sweet book about a hot firefighter and I did . . . but there's so much more to him than how sexy he looks in his turnouts. There's damage beneath the surface. His scars are so much more complex than the ones that mar his back.

And then there's Dylan McCoy. She's feisty and talented but is constantly doubting her self-worth. Plus she's in Sunnyville to gain some distance from her ex-boyfriend.

Throw Grady and Dylan together and a slow burn attraction begins. Each helps the other get over their insecurities. Each helps the other grow stronger in one aspect or another.

Oh, and when the match strikes, they definitely burn up the sheets. Or wherever they may find themselves. ☺️

I truly hope you enjoy Grady and Dylan's story, their romance, and the journey they take.

5 Stars!

When it comes to K. Bromberg novels you know you are going to get FEELS. FEELS. AND MORE FEELS. She is a writer who knows how to bring LIFE to a story and make it palpable. Combust was intense. A novel that stole my heart from the first to the last lines. I was honestly astonished by how attached I became to these characters. From the second I sat down to read, all my attention was focused on Dylan and Grady. You can't help but fall in love with these characters. They're not only charming but wholly endearing and they make rooting for them easy. To say I LOVED Combust would be an understatement. I went into this book thinking I would like it, but I came out spellbound, intoxicated, and knowing I had just found one of my fav reads of the year!

Dylan McCoy is on the run. After finding the love of her life with another woman, she wants out. Out of the relationship. Out of any contractual agreements she and Jett signed together. You see, Dylan is a songwriter who is (or rather was) dating one of the biggest rockstars around, a bad boy set on destruction, who can only seem to be controlled by one woman--Dylan! But with Dylan being burned, she wants far away from Jett and his endless problems. Unfortunately, she's obligated to write the songs for his next album. So with her heart in tatters, Dylan decides to honor the contract, write the songs, but do it out of LA and far away from her ex.

Grady Malone is a firefighter, struggling to get over the demons of his past. Haunted by things he desperately wishes he could change, he's doing life but not very peacefully. Grady is a hero you instantly love. When his best friend calls, asking to let Dylan stay in his extra room, Grady says yes because that's what Grady is, a giver. A selfless, amazing, sweet and fantastic man with a heart of pure gold! (Can you tell I'm in love with him? LOL)

When Grady and Dylan room together, sparks fly and OHHHH MY GOD, it's juicy. But more than juicy, the friendship that's formed, the way this romance unfolds is breathtaking. They are so sweet together. With each of them having their own problems, they seem to find solace in each other. I was intoxicated by their chemistry, I couldn't get enough of their banter, and I wanted to be inside this book. When it ended, I mourned that I had run out of pages. I honestly felt as if I was addicted to them. I couldn't get enough.

Overall, I loved everything about this romance. I felt like it came alive as I read it. It was real and tangible. The characters were lovable. The writing was fantastic. The plot compelling and heartwarming. And that ending stole my breath! It was one hell of a reading experience. I highly recommend Combust. It's a complete standalone that will own you one word at a time.

The first book in this series, "Cuffed"  was about hot cop Grant Malone. I really enjoyed  his story, but I was very much looking foward to reading about his brothers.... medevac pilot Greyson and firefighter Grady as well.

This one is Grady's story and boy was it HOT ....

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor flames gif

And in this case the firefighter was the cause of the flames !!!! Damn the mouth on that man !!

Gerelateerde afbeelding

When Grady and Grayson were introduced in the previous book, I loved both of them right away. My love for Grady only grew bigger and bigger the more I read.

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor growing heart gif

Grady's past is pretty heartbreaking. Reading about what he had been through, broke my heart. He carries a lot of scars....some you can see and some that are hidden inside. So I was very happy, when Dylan walked into his life.

Dylan was a great heroine !! I loved her, she was funny, sweet, tough and a bit self conscious about her body, which only made me love her more.

d50031ea235c01d001888c245c04763c.jpg (1600×1200)

Dylan recently walked in on her famous rockstar boyfriend having sex with someone else....The fact that the girl in question was model gorgeous, isn't really a boost for Dylan's ego. What's even more worrisome, is that Dylan is obligated by contract to still write songs for her now ex boyfriend..... She needs the money, so she needs to find a place to retreat and get her act together.

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor let's do this gif

Now this is where her brother's friend Grady comes in. He has no problem helping his friend's sister out, and so she temporarily moves into his guestroom in Sunnyville.

They immediately hit it off, and it soon becomes pretty clear,  that they are also extremely attracted to each other. So why not take advantage ?

Well... Dylan is leaving in a couple of weeks and Grady has made it more than clear he doesn't want a relationship. But.....they both need the distraction and they both want to feel good. Why not have some fun and make each other feel good, they can keep their heart out of it.....right.....

Gerelateerde afbeelding

By now we all know, that the heart wants what it wants !!! No point in fighting the inevitable. They always do though.....

These two were an awesome match and I loved how they slowly healed each other....

Gerelateerde afbeelding

This story is not just about love.... It's also about overcoming your fears. Courage does not mean the absence of fear.....but the mastery of it.

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor fear face everything and rise

I highly recommend this story, and I myself can't wait to find out, which girl is gonna sweep single dad and medevac pilot Grayson off his feet !!!!

“The heart’s blind. It’s the head that causes all the trouble. Sometimes both are stupid.”

Combust is a contemporary romance in the Everyday Heroes Series. With one hot fireman and a curvy talented songwriter, K Bromberg has delivered another stunning read! Dylan McCoy will do anything to escape her tainted Hollywood life. After a messy break up with one of the music industry’s greatest, she just needs a safe place to hideaway! When her brother recommends she stay with his good friend Grady Malone (in a secluded small town), Dylan jumps at the idea! What could be wrong with living with a smoking hot fireman?

description
“He takes without asking. He claims and seduces and demands without a single word."
Told in multiple POV, Combust is another beautifully crafted contemporary romance with a double dose of passion and heart. The idiosyncrasies between the two characters are great and played out perfectly as the plot progresses. Although these two could not be more opposite, somehow together they simply just make sense! Both have a great deal to overcome, and the journey in which they travel together isn’t always easy but as always it is worth it!
“Because love is rarely pretty. It’s messy. It’s complicated. It’s often ugly, but that’s how you know when it’s right."
Overall, Combust is another great creation by K Bromberg. She always crafts characters that are beautifully flawed and complex. I always find her characters feel like close friends and I am always sad when the book comes to an end! Thankfully, this is standalone from another great series of books so there is plenty more to explore. As always, when Bromberg is writing, my Kindle and I are waiting.

Once again, K. Bromberg blows me away and leaves me speechless. Combust is one of my new TOP favorite novels. It’s so well planned and executed. The flow and feel of the novel is absolutely incredible! It’s truly one of my favorites of the year!

Here’s the breakdown: Dylan and Grady are like two broken ships passing in the night. She’s reeling from a recent break up and he’s scarred from a past trauma. Becoming instant roommates and fast friends, they each see the other for who they truly are...incredible people with damaged souls. Finding solace in each other leads to more than either ever expected.

What I loved: EVERYTHING! I’m a sucker for novels that give me all the feels. That’s why K. Bromberg is an automatic one-click author for me. Aside from the beautiful writing and flawless stories she writes, there’s always so much beauty in her characters. They’re flawed and their feelings and emotions laid bare on the page. I adore how much these stories cause me to think about my own life and pursuits. There’s a wisdom and lesson in the words. It’s so much more than a beautiful romance or steamy novel. It real and honest--absolutely brilliant!
As I mentioned earlier, the characters are both flawed. Their views of themselves are completely skewed. They both need healing of sorts and who better to help than someone who can see you more clearly than you’ve ever seen yourself?
The storyline is amazeballs!! I imagine hour upon hour going into the research of how firefighters behave and speak because the novel feels so authentic. It’s exactly what I’ve come to expect from this author. A complete, beautiful, and utterly captivating love story!

Grab this one as soon as you can! Dylan and Grady’s story is one that I’d recommend to everyone!

There’s definitely something beneath the sexiness of Grady Malone. Question is, do I want to get invested enough to find out what?

Oh my word! I'm actually at a loss for them right now. And my ovaries? Those are too busy swooning over everything that is Grady Malone. I thought I loved this series after reading Cuffed, but as much as I enjoyed that story, it pales in comparison to the swoons and feels of this one. And the heat? So hot that only a firefighter can put out those flames. Too bad he's the one causing them. YOWZA!
Every touch is a splash of gasoline on a smolder. Every kiss is the match being lit. Every groan a lick of flame searing both my skin and my soul.

Finding your boyfriend in bed with another woman is the last thing that Dylan needed in her life. But being held to her contract to finish their album together is the ultimate nail in the coffin of her sanity. She needs to get away and recharge, and her brother finds her the perfect retreat. With the sexy firefighter, Grady Malone. He's her brother's friend, an incorrigible flirt, sexy as sin, but also hiding demons that plague him nightly.
Stop staring at me like I’m going to fucking break. I’ve already broken, Dylan.

God but I loved Grady. I loved him so hard. This perfectly imperfect, endearingly broken man tugged at every heart string I had. The more you find out about the demons that haunt him, the more your heart bleeds for him. Watching his defenses crumble for the beautiful Dylan was all that much more satisfying because of it. He's protective and sweet. He tries so hard to keep things light and easy and in the friend zone, but the chemistry between them is too hot to deny.
He takes without asking. He claims and seduces and demands without a single word. But the one thing that is constant is his anger. And just when I think I’m drowning in the swell of emotion his kiss evokes, he ends it abruptly. He shoves away from me as if he’s been burned.

Dylan's insecurities were something that plague every woman at one time or another. I really connected with her on that level. Watching her gain her confidence back on her own and with Grady was incredibly satisfying. Watching her unwittingly fall for the broken man was EVERYTHING. I absolutely adored the two of them together.

K. Bromberg really knows how to write a romance that bring that feels, and she spares none with Combust. It was brimming with emotion and overflowing with heat. It was deliciously entertaining and totally addicting. I love these Malone men and cannot wait for more!

I know when I drive into a K. Bromberg book I'm going to run the full gamut of emotions. I'm guaranteed to laugh, swoon, cry and get that anxious feeling in the pit of my stomach when I just know something bad is coming. Grady is the ultimate hero. He's sweet, funny, alpha in all the right ways and just so damn broken by grief, and circumstances that are so far outside of his control.

I love the way Kristy deals with real issues in such creative, healing ways. I loved this book and I can't wait for Grayson's story.

This is the second book featuring the Malone brothers and this time we get deep into Grady’s life. All of these guys have made careers working in the emergency sector working in the police force, search and rescue and in Grady’s case being a firefighter.

Grady knows, better than anyone, just how much he risks each day in what can be a very dangerous job. Every time he suits up and enters a burning building there is a chance he may not come out alive. He has been in that very situation before and struggles to go on with the weight of survivors guilt that cloaks his entire life. This is the reason he will never ‘settle’ down with anyone and have a family of his own.

When his mate asks him if his sister can crash at his place for a few months while she finishes a work project, he is happy to oblige. However, he never expected Dylan McCoy, in fact she turned out to be quite unexpected. Unexpectedly gorgeous, talented and everything in between.

Dylan’s first impression of Grady is watching him see off his one night stand at the front door. Slightly awkward moment but it is his house and she is just a temporary visitor. She is recovering from a very messy break up from her long term boyfriend who happens to be a famous singer that she writes songs for. Her need to get away from him is also to give her space to finish writing his next album, away from all the chaos and drama that her life has now become.

Living with Grady has it’s unexpected perks, like when his two brothers come over to help him with some DIY…..

"I feel like I’ve just walked in on a Diet Coke commercial. Three shirtless men with carpenter belts on, a sheen of sweat on their skin, and grins on their faces."

Grady has always been a ‘bag ‘em and leave ‘em’ kind of guy but when he comes home to Dylan each day he realises how much he likes having someone to talk to every day and share things with. Letting Dylan into his heart and bed for a while might complicate things a bit but it feels too good to stop. Knowing that it is only temporary makes it okay to let his guard down a little bit.

Dylan just can’t resist Grady, he is drop dead gorgeous and knows his way around her body, she had no idea it could be this way and that she could feel so much so fast. He is helping her heal from the kick her self esteem got from her ex and she has never felt more beautiful. Even with her ‘mermaid thighs.’ She in turn is showing Grady that he deserves happiness and that even though there is risk involved, he is worth the risk. However until he believes it too he will remain in his self imposed unattached life.

This was another fantastic read from Kristy with plenty of heat <- intentional pun ☺ Looking forward to getting Grayson’ story, it’s gonna be amazing!

I love this author, but this book was just a fail. The reason why I love my possessive & jealous alphas is because I share the same attributes. So I will NEVER effing understand how heroines gets aroused when seeing or hearing H with OW. Doesn't matter if they're "not together" yet. And really, what Hero encourages heroines to hook up with other man and jacks off to her moans with the guy? The rest of the book was a slow build, from friendship to romance. But unfortunately, couldn't stand the characters and lost interest. Grady wasn't much of alpha, he had his insecurities and Dylan was just weak. Don't know if I'll read Grayson's book. Grant was so-so also.

***5 "Face everything and rise!!!" stars***

“You are my shot in the dark.
The flame I can’t put out.
The nightmare I need to walk away from.
The dream I constantly doubt.
But you’re under my skin.
You’ve stolen my heart.
How am I ever going to be able to walk away from this?”

Oh my dear loving God!!!! I just LOVE K. Bromberg's writing!!!
I suck for not reading her work sooner!!!
Her heroes are absolutely stunning...
Her stories so amazing...
And "everyday heroes" series are THE BEST!!!!

“We all have scars. Some are visible. Some aren’t. In the end, they represent the fact that you’re stronger now than whatever tried to hurt you.”

As i already told you in my review of "Cuffed", i'm not very fond of the men in uniforms...
And then came the Malone brothers and turned my world upside down...
First it was Grant with his police uniform and then came Grady, the firefighter and i think that i fell in love for him more than Grant....
I really can't imagine what Grayson will do to me, but i can't wait!!!

Well, in here, we had to deal with Grady Malone...
The younger of the Malones who in the previous book seemed the most easygoing character and the funniest...
But Grady was more than that and he had scars... Scars that were running deeper than his physical scars...
And then came in the picture, Dylan and everything changed for him... and her!!!

"You don't drown by falling in the pool, Grady. You drown by not trying to swim out of it."

Dylan is a songwriter who caught her rock star boyfriend in a compromised position with someone else... She was also working with him and she was having a deadline to finish writing the songs of jerk's new album...
So, with her brother's help, she is leaving behind her usual life for few months and she is becoming the Grady's new roommate...
Oh, did i tell you that Dylan hates firefighters???

“The heart’s blind.
It’s the head that causes all the trouble.
Sometimes both are stupid.”

Well, those two are coming closer and they will discover that they are more similar that they think!!! They both have emotional scars that run too deep to be faced, but maybe they are needing each other to get over those scars...
Will they recognize the feeling that are bounding them together or they will pass by love???

"I lied to you, Dylan. I told you I couldn't give you more, but you know what? I don't think there's any way I can give you less."

God, i loved both characters very much!!! And how they were matching perfectly!!!!
Even though they were too blind to see it themselves!!!
Grady had a difficult time tha last two years and he had decide that he will not drown any woman down with him no matter the cost!!!
Dylan from other hand was so emotional and sweet... I think that she was better from Emerson for me!!!
Those two together was putting fire around them and with a good reason!!!!

“Because love is rarely pretty. It’s messy. It’s complicated. It’s often ugly, but that’s how you know when it’s right. Pretty doesn’t always last. It’s the things you have to work at that make the reward that much sweeter.”

5 'No matter the cost' Stars!
ARC provided by the author via Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review.

K. Bromberg keeps surprising us every time she releases a new novel. I knew after I finished reading Cuffed that she would blow my mind with this series and, obviously, she just delivered an outstanding second installment. Ladies, be ready to fall in love all over again with a Malone man because Grady and his love story with Dylan will make you a blubbering mess of emotions!

So, Combust is the second standalone book in the Everyday Heroes series, and now it’s time for the firefighter in the Malone family to find his soul mate. Grady Malone is a funny and sexy playboy, but a man devoted to his work and the people he loves. Dylan McCoy is an excellent songwriter (and singer!) and a woman who has been burned by her past and her present. These two become roommates when Dylan decides she needs a break but not everything is as simple as the palpable chemistry between them. Grady and Dylan have been burned, physically and emotionally, and it’s not easy for them to accept their chemistry is so much more than only sex.

There’s definitely something beneath the sexiness of Grady Malone.
Question is, do I want to get invested enough to find out what?

This woman kills me with all the emotions she can provoke in me. I found myself laughing, crying, swooning and melting all over the place while reading Combust. The story gripped me from the very start and these characters made their way into my heart in the very first page. Grady and Dylan are such a beautiful couple. They are complex, they have flaws and fears, they are strong individually and even more together. Their connection is instant and, as you can imagine, it easily becomes combustible.

Every touch is a splash of gasoline on a smolder. Every kiss is the match being lit. Every groan a lick of flame searing both my skin and my soul.

Of course, the best part about Combust is the emotional relationship between Dylan and Grady but, you all know K. Bromberg by now.. The sex was just as explosive as the fires Grady extinguishes. Or in this case, with Dylan, he totally starts them because damn! The man is so HAWT. The interactions between this couple, besides the extremely emotional ones (that I absolutely adored), are extremely erotic. Grady Malone is a sexy as heck man and he definitely knows how to woo and seduce Dylan (and us, too!). You don’t want to miss all that hotness, trust me!

“You are my shot in the dark.
The flame I can’t put out.
The nightmare I need to walk away from.
The dream I constantly doubt.
But you’re under my skin.
You’ve stolen my heart.
How am I ever going to be able to walk away from this?”

What I also loved, that I really enjoyed in Cuffed too, is the relationship the Malones have and how that also involves the new additions to the family. The relationship between the three brothers is so compelling and they all surely know how to give advice to both Grady and Dylan (also Emerson is a big part in this too). Even though their situation is not the easiest, especially towards the end, this couple finally fights for what they know is worth it: the love they feel for each other. They overcome their fears together and that is so beautiful to read. That ending will melt your insides, I can assure you that! Gah, I want more!

My fear and my salvation are one in the same.

Therefore, I am rating Combust with 5 STARS because K. Bromberg just did it again: she gave me everything I love about her novels and left me wanting more. Combust and its characters bewitched me with this brilliant love story. Grady and Dylan are the perfect match for each other and I am so glad they found their happy ending together. Everything, the good and the bad, was so worth it in the end! And you all know what I am about to say now.. I can’t wait for the last story! Grayson and his adorable son Luke sound so good to me and I am sure Kristy will deliver another fantastic story for them. Guys, you have to meet the Malone boys, like right now! Highly recommend!

ARC

This is what every fire fighter books will judged with henceforth.

Here's the thing, I haven't had the best luck when it comes to books based on firefighter- I've read them all- too cliché, too boring, too predictable...the list goes on and on. But those days are gone! THE SUN HAS FINALLY RISEN!!!!! OK.. enough with the dramatics hahaha

Combust is INSANELY HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have found the holy grail of firefighter hotness!
I don't know how she did it but K. Bromberg has written a book that has turned a 'could have been so cliché book' into a book that is heartbreaking beautiful.
I never thought it'd be possible to read a book that was meant to be 'fun' and come out of it learning something worthwhile and make you think about ones worth.

I loved Grady and Dylan.. both flawed yet so beautiful. and let's be honest here and say that the chemistry is off-the-charts good! (would it be unladylike to say "Hubba-hubba- hubba"? hahaha)

Combust is a must read!
I apologies but I am not going to reveal much about the plot line. But I will tell you this, READ IT!! You won't regret it.

PS: never thought i'd say this but I am actually contemplating getting a 'petunia' myself hahaha
if you've read the book...would you get a 'petunia' too?

The three Malone brothers Grant, Grayson and Grady are the heroes of this new series by K. Bromberg.

The 2nd one - Grady - is a fireman!

And he just got himself a new roommate!

Songwriter Dylan had to flee Los Angeles. She couldn't be in the same city with her cheating ex - rockstar Jett. BUT, she still has to fulfill her contract and finish the 20 songs for his album. But she'll do that in Sunnyville. Since her brother is too busy to take care of her because his wife just had twin girls, he moves her in with his buddy Grady!

Grady doesn't do serious. He's a firefighter. His job is too dangerous - he doesn't want to leave a family behind. Like his best buddy Drew. Drew's son will never see his dad again, and Grady 'only' has a few burn scars on his back. Why didn't he die? He still hasn't really dealt with the whole survivor's guilt thing.

So, a girl on the rebound and a guy in mourning should be the perfect roommates with benefits. But of course those stupid feelings will inevitably show up.

And Dylan's ex shows up too - wanting her back.

What will happen with Dylan & Grady?
Will there be a happily ever after?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺

ADORABLE!

Grady is such an amazing guy. He's all sexy and hot and flirty and sweet and kind and fun and ... just perfect. But of course most of it is a façade. He still mourns his friend and the nightmares just won't stop.

Only when Dylan's in bed with him.

Those two would be so perfect for each other. But both think they're unavailable for something serious. But of course we know better. ☺

Great romance with lots of funny and adorable moments and sexy moments, but also lots of very moving & sad moments.

Can't wait to read Grayson's book - hot single dad rescue pilot!!! HURRY KRISTY!

COMBUST was an amazingly adorable & moving love story! But just so you know ... Grady is MINE - so go run to your nearest amazon to get your own!!!

Were there a few tiny little things that I didn't love? Nothing major - so don't worry...

Just like the first book, this one was a tiny little bit too long. I love long books and interesting and huge stories. But this was a bit too long - a little bit here and there cut out wouldn't have hurt this great story.

Exceptionally moving with all the feels, Combust completely engulfs you with its originality and passionate storyline.

This book is so much more than just a hot cover. It’s beyond emotional, tugging on the reader’s heartstrings, and matches the continuous heat that burns with desire and attraction.

The story captures the reader’s attention from the very beginning. Grady and Dylan’s initial spark of chemistry grows until their connection explodes off the pages, immersing you further into their complex and unique relationship.

Both characters have pasts, pasts that dictate their thoughts and actions that no one can honestly understand except each other. But both pasts prevent each other from truly living the second chance they were given. Their wounds run deep, and to see how Grady and Dylan found their healing in each other shows that real heroes don’t wear capes.

K. Bromberg is a master at exceptionally written stories with a powerhouse of raw and relatable emotional situations. Combust conveys the hardships of choices made, heartbreaking loses, and love that is found in the least likely of circumstances. This book will singe your heart with its compelling, arousing, and touching love story.

5 explosive stars

I’m completely and utterly blown away. This was one of those books you want to devour in one sitting, but savor every single word at the same time. It’s one of those stories that completely suck you in and you can’t catch a breath before you’ve reached The End.

I knew this was going to be an emotional read from the very beginning, but boy, was I prepared for what hit me. There was so much heart and emotions put in this book that I felt every word like it burned itself into the very core of my soul. Everything was so immaculately written there were sentences and paragraphs I read and re-reread several times just to relish each feeling and experience the beauty behind it over and over.

Grady Malone – the youngest of the three Malone brothers we met in Cuffed. He seemed like this hotshot – cocky, sexy and with a good sense of humor. And he was all that. But he had so much more of himself to offer to us. He was a firefighter, but it was the fire inside of him that he was trying to put out - his insecurities, his haunting past and the guilt he lived with every day. Afraid to face his fears, afraid to live to the fullest, afraid to open his heart and let someone in.

But then came Dylan McCoy. She was this determined and defiant woman with a talent for music. She was confident in what she did for a living, but she had doubts about herself on a personal level. I saw so much of myself in her and her story hit so close to home for me on so many levels. I felt really connected with her character and loved her instantly. And although Grady and Dylan seemed like they had nothing in common, their connection was undeniable. Their love story started as a slow burning fire that was truly heartwarming but then some sparks ignited and everything exploded in one scorching hot mix of passion, lust and need.

description

Their chemistry was indeed COMBUSTIBLE. Their attraction off the charts hot and soon with some fuel thrown into the mix their smoldering feelings grew into an inferno of desire and heart-melting love.

description

And although this couple certainly turned up the heat in the bedroom, there was so much more to this story than that. There were moments which were excruciatingly painful to read and shattered my heart into a million pieces, but then it was sealed back together with the sincerity of their feelings and their openness to each other.

description

Little by little they started to revealed layer after layer of themselves in front of each other. The question was whether this would be enough to push them to face their fears and rise? Or would they run away again?

This was one truly poignant and beautiful book and I loved every single minute of it. The love story was front and center, but I enjoyed all the other little touches that made this the perfect package. The interactions between the whole Malone family. The connection and the relationship between the brothers, their closeness and support for each other, even when they were giving each other shit. The song lyrics – such a beautiful part of this story. The ending that was so intense and so action packed, I thought my heart was going to come out of my chest and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see what was happening. I was a sobbing mess at some point, there was some serious nail-biting and cussing involved, but it was so worth it. And as in every other book by Kristy Bromberg there was a loud and clear message behind this story that seared itself into my mind and heart and would stay with me for a long time to come.

Think you could handle all that heat? Get ready to have your panties and hearts on fire on January 29th. At least we know we could count on one Grady Malone to put this fire out. Or maybe he will ignite a new one. Find out for yourself.

”Love is rarely pretty. It’s messy. It’s complicated. It’s often ugly, but that’s how you know when it’s right.”

When you read a book that MOVED YOU SO MUCH that you’re not sure if you can put your feels into words, you have to JUST JUMP and pour your emotions into a review that can do the beloved book justice. K. Bromberg’s knack for humor, wit, soul, and sensitivity shines in her latest heart-hitter of a love story, Combust. COMBUST TOUCHED ME DEEPLY. I FELT SO MUCH!!! Combust made me melt. Made me feel. Made me break. Made me believe. Made me think. Made me value life. Made me want to always fight for love. Made me want to find my strong and conquer some important things I’ve brushed aside. Made me believe. MADE ME LOVE ... so very much!

This is the story of a big-hearted and unabashedly beautiful woman who is learning to love and value herself, and a gorgeous and generous man who is learning to finally rise after falling. This is the story of a song-writer, Dylan, and a fire-fighter, Grady, who forge a deep connection more powerful than the sun. This is the story of two broken beauties, two broken hearts learning to be whole together. This is the story that BROKE ME IN THE BEST WAY, and I’d let Combust break me again and again.

A broken hero and heroine drawn are together.

Broken sees broken.
Darkness sees darkness.
Like sees like.

”We drive into the dark.
Crash into the wall.
How do we find our way back from this endless free fall?”

Grady defines HERO in every way! Grady is gorgeous, humorous, and kind, a beacon of light fused with dark. I LOVED this man of many layers. Grady and his damaged heart—both I wanted to save. He couldn’t be saved until her. Until Dylan crosses his path and shows him the light in the dark.

Take.
Her kiss.
Her breath.
His patience.
My anger.

From the first page of the Prologue, I loved the fierce and feisty Dylan, and I never stopped. Beautiful Dylan is a dreamer with new-found strength in spades. Her spirit has been shattered but Grady is helping her put together the pieces. I admired this tender-hearted heroine so much!

”Oh, the man can talk a good game.”

“It isn’t talking the good game you should be worrying about. It’s if a man can back it up with his actions.”

K. Bromberg creates the best characters, contradictions of hard and soft, and dark and light. Dylan and Grady are HERO AND HEROINE PERFECTION!!! This hero and heroines’ humorous and heated banter with innuendos was INTOXICATING!!! The witty writing made me chuckle. I loved these kindred spirits so much who MELTED ME with their darkness mixed with light! These two imperfectly perfect and shattered souls made each other whole.

”Tell me you want this.”

Combust hums with a razor-sharp INTENSITY that cuts like a knife, slicing through the soul. My heart beat out of my chest, pulsing in rhythm to the tension pounding throughout the story. Delicious tension, tension so thick I could cut it with a knife. I loved this angst that Combust delivered. I needed it. I craved every bit. I CRAVED EVERY WORD OF COMBUST.

”You are my shot in the dark.
The flame I can’t put out.
The dream I need to walk away from.”

Combust is as scorching HOT as it is HEARTFELT. This story strikes you with a match, heating your body, as your FEELS ARE ON FIRE! Combust is a romance that blazes your body and ignites your feels in flames but it’s so much MORE. It’s about slaying demons and surviving. It’s about facing the past and embracing the future. It’s about continuing to fight for yourself when you’ve lost all the will. It’s about embracing your flaws and seeing that they make you the most beautiful—PERFECTLY IMPERFECT. It’s about learning to love yourself. It’s about rising up after you fall down.

”It’s okay to forget what hurt you, but just remember to never forget what it taught you.”

Like Macallan whiskey, K. Bromberg infuses shots of potent and powerful wisdom in her words. Bits of truth that you can’t help but take to heart and feel with all your heart. It’s no surprise that K. Bromberg’s heart-hitting stories always do more than entertain: THEY INSPIRE. Combust is a story that will inspire and empower you while warming your heart. K. Bromberg’s words bring hope to hopelessly-seeming heroes and you can’t help but soak up that hope too. You can’t help but be infused with that Macallan, that whiskey in words. You can’t help but want to fight those fires burning your soul and holding you hostage from life. You can’t help but want to JUST JUMP. Rise after life has made you fall.

”Face everything and rise.”

A superbly told tale of scorching heat meets heartbreak and healing, Combust is a journey felt until the end. This story is FEELS ON FIRE! Every FEEL was on fire as I BURNED from this book!!! I FELT EVERYTHING!!! I had tears in my eyes nearly the whole time reading as my emotions combusted all over the pages. I profess my mad love for COMBUST!!! There are not enough stars for this soul-stirring scorcher. I CAN’T LOVE COMBUST ENOUGH!!! It’s heat. It’s heart. It’s heartbreak. It’s hope. It’s healing. It’s heroism. It’s so much more than I can pen into words. COMBUST IS EVERYTHING!!!

This quote sums up how hard Combust hit me:

”You’re under my skin.
You’ve tattooed my soul.”

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 but worth all the ‘face everything and rise’ stars

“Because love is rarely pretty. It’s messy. It’s complicated. It’s often ugly, but that’s how you know when it’s right. Pretty doesn’t always last. It’s the things you have to work at that make the reward that much sweeter.”

So I love Bromberg's Everyday Heroes series... I knew that Kristy would give us something highly emotional and sweet and sexy and boy did she deliver. Now I want to preface this by saying that my hubby is a volunteer fireman in our town and I love when I see him in his uniform so I knew just by looking at this cover that I WOULD LOVE THIS BOOK—and I did.

Dylan McCoy leaves her boyfriend Jett for some time to heal, to regroup and to write music. She finds herself roommates with Grady Malone and I swear that man had me at first smile, first flirtation, first hello <3

I loved Dylan's strength to get away and find herself again... to not back down and take her cheating ex back because it was what she was used to doing. Bromberg's music writing was on point and I loved being in Dylan's heart and mind.

Grady is sweet, kind and sadly suffering from his own demons. His fears are something I fear when my hubby goes out on a call so I could relate to his pain, his suffering... his scars both physical and mental as he tried to keep himself at a distance from Dylan.

But boy, their chemistry is HOT! I loved their interactions, their openness and willingness to move past the scars and heal... their ability to find love.

Combust will make you feel and I am very much looking forward to reading the next Malone brother <3

First person, Dual-POV, HAE. Can be read as standalone.

Second book for Everyday Heroes, this is quickly becoming one of my favorite series about men in uniform.

Stories full of angst, heartbreak - and then mending of said hearts - and enough personal achievement to not only fall in love with the characters but to keep you reading. I know I couldn't put this one down.

This installment is about Grady, another Malone brother, this time a firefighter, and Dylan, a girl in Sunnyville to escape LA after heartbreak.

Opening, Dylan has just discovered her two-year boyfriend (and world-famous rock star), Jett, in bed with someone else. Broken and needing to escape the attention of the record execs, and her now ex, she calls her brother for a favor. She needs a place to stay, and he mentions a friend of his has an extra room in Sunnyville. Knowing she can do her job, write songs for Jett, from afar, she packs up and leaves right away.

Funny how I didn't realize I was suffocating until I walked away.

Grady is haunted by memories of a fire two years ago, one in which he lost his best friend and partner. Nightmares, insecurity about the scars on his back from that fire, resistance to jump back into action, distracting himself with constructing a game room for his friend's son - all compile to make the once engaging Malone son into a distracted and distant man.

When they are put together, they test the other's restraint.

She's self-conscious about her body and wary about Grady because of the damage her fire-fighting father left behind, he's the same with his scars and thought process that he never wants to leave someone behind like his friend did. They're weighed down by individual traumas, but despite being incapable (or so they think) of keeping a steady relationship, a visit from Jett has them playing house a little too convincingly. Stolen kisses here, possessive touches there. It's beginning to be hard to see the line they've drawn in the sand.

It's a story of not only improving their own lives, but each other's in the process. It's sweet, hot and squeezes your heart.

Can't wait for the next installments.

'Til next time cuties ;)

Wow, Kristy Bromberg sure did light the mother of all fires with her latest addition to the "Everyday Heroes" series and boy did I feel like my emotions had been burned to a crisp by the time I turned the last page. Seriously peeps, what a read. This one hit me right in the solar plexus from the get go knocking me for six not once but time and time again. I didn't think my heart would recover. Kristy writes angst so so well and "Combust" was a prime example of that. It was devastating and gut wrenching but perfectly balanced with that signature sweetness, humour, romance and chemistry this author is renowned for.
"...love is rarely pretty. It's messy. It's complicated. It's often ugly, but that's how you know it's right. Pretty doesn't always last. It's the things you have to work at that make the reward that much sweeter."

"Combust" gave us the story of Grady Malone, a sexy as sin firefighter who was deeply troubled, carrying the burden of unfounded guilt that came as a result of a tragic event from the past. His leading lady came in the form of Dylan McCoy, a song writer who had been burned by every man that had meant something to her. To top it off, in the world of showbiz where image was everything, Dylan felt like she didn't belong, harbouring her own insecurities when it came to body image. Each of these characters had their own story to tell, and each one left my heart hurting.
Every touch is a splash of gasoline on a smoulder. Every kiss is a match being lit. Every groan a lick of flame searing both my skin and my soul.

Kristy Bromberg wrote a perfect slow burn romance with "Combust" and I savoured every mouth watering part of it. The "housemates to friends to more" story was written in such a way that I was engrossed and couldn't wait to see what came next. Although there were some light hearted and funny moments between the couple plus an undeniable chemistry that had me rooting for the pair, overall, this was a story that brought out the natural born fixer in me. I wanted to take away their insecurities, vulnerabilities, hurt and pain. I wanted each of them to see their self worth, to see their beauty both on the outside and within. I wanted them to realise just how perfect they were. I just wanted to .... to make everything better for them. I guess this is where the uplifting moments came because despite what I've said, there were times my heart felt so full of pride when Grady and Dylan overcame hurdles in their lives. those moments made all the anguish and angst worth it because when that grin spread on my face, it would take a lot to wipe it off.
“We all have scars. Some are visible, some aren’t. In the end, they represent the fact that you’re stronger now than whatever tried to hurt you.”

It was great catching up with the rest of the Malone clan, from the parents to the brothers, this really was a family unit of the best kind. The banter between the brothers had me in stitches but equally, the love and support they offered one another made my heart swell with pride.

This really was another great addition to the "Everyday Heroes" series peeps. The writing was outstanding as always and so full of emotion and feeling and in terms of the storyline, although not completely unique, I love how this author put her own twist on it to make it her own.
Find 'em hot and leave 'em wet just got a whole new meaning.
Grady and Dylan's story gets ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Holy Hot Fireman!!!
This couple! Their past, their scars, their ghosts, their passion, their chemistry.... Their LOVE! Epic romance written brilliantly by K. Bromberg in the most perfect of ways.
Once again miss Bromberg gives us ALL the feels. Straight to the heart!

Dylan McCoy’s – yes, how awesome is that we get two amazing McCoy heroines in the same week? – has just been shattered to pieces by her long time boyfriend and rock star, Jett. So in attempt to heal her wounds and stay away from he source her pain, her brother gives her a refuse to a secluded location, in a small town, she just has to share a house with his friend, Grady Malone. Sounds easy enough, no?! LOL

“The heart’s blind. It’s the head that causes all the trouble.”

Not at all, because Grady Malone is a league of his own – and huge problems that haunt him – but that just makes his smoking hot package that much more difficult to resist. And honestly, who could? A drool worthy body, and a cheer up attitude that hides an enormous pain insane, but let’s you see his fragility? Yep, totally irresistible!

Perfection with a little bit of grit thrown in.
Any woman who says a firefighter in his gear isn’t sexy is lying because damn . . . that’s the only word I can form.

And I’m left contemplating the contradiction that is Grady Malone.

I loved how much tact Grady had with Dylan, and which buttons he knew she needed pushing. The fact that even though immediately physically attracted, they established a somehow strong friendship, and Grady acknowledged her broken heart, but still pushed her to let go, was refreshing. I wished he hadn’t go to a particular moment there to try to help her, but that just show how blind men are sometimes, that it needs to basically be slapped in their face to see what was obvious to everyone else.

“Because love is rarely pretty. It’s messy. It’s complicated. It’s often ugly, but that’s how you know when it’s right. Pretty doesn’t always last. It’s the things you have to work at that make the reward that much sweeter.”

“It isn’t talking the good game you should be worrying about. It’s if a man can back it up with his actions.”

“It’s okay to forget what hurt you, but just remember to never forget what it taught you.”

His words of wisdom truly were spot on, if only he could take those very words and apply them his own situation. The dichotomy of his character just proves how talented Ms. Bromberg is. His inner conflict, his battle with his ghosts, and his upbeat charisma, shows us a complexity that just kept us hooked to this tormented man, and cheering for him, and Dylan. Because boy, did he want her!

It’s the perfect mix of sexy and sweet.

“What do you say, Dylan?” Please. Use me.

And weren’t just talking about physically and sexual want, but a soul calming craving, in which only Dylan brought him a resemblance of peace! His very own soul whisperer.

Dylan, the more she can see beyond the playful facade, and the God-like body, the more she is drawn to him, and their insane chemistry, just lights her fire to unmeasurable proportions. Yes, she’s afraid all he makes her feel, and she may have fought their magnetism, but a man like Grady, and a passion like theirs just can’t be ignored.

It takes a second for my mind to catch up to what my body is already reacting to—the onslaught of everything that is Grady Malone.
Because this isn’t a let’s-play-house kiss.
Oh no.
This is a take-no-prisoners, no-holds-barred kiss.

Every touch is a splash of gasoline on a smolder. Every kiss is the match being lit. Every groan a lick of flame searing both my skin and my soul.

And it’s passion that if allowed has the power to heal them both. Two hurt souls that just might be each others salvation, they just need to let their minds feel what their hearts and bodies are trying to tell them. Combust really is a story about mutual healing through love. Epic love’s true power!

We all have scars. Some are visible. Some aren’t. In the end, they represent the fact that you’re stronger now than whatever tried to hurt you.

That night, the taste of your kiss seared into my goddamn mind, making sure no one else’s kiss could ever come close.

It was amazing to get even more of Grant and Emerson HEA here, and the rest of the Malone gang – including their parents – as well as all the awesome secondary characters. Like all the women in the story, I could imagine the droolfest that comes with these three men at one place. These Malones… WOW, they really are a league of their own. Full package material: smoking hot looks, loyal to the core and with capacity to love a woman, their soulmate, in a way that she becomes the center of his universe.

We’re Malones. This is who we are. We are public servants, and risk comes with the territory. We don’t have a choice in the matter. We were born to do this, but that doesn’t mean we should miss out on our lives because of it.”

Combust really blew all my expectations, and considering how much I loved the first installment, that’s saying something. These profoundly developed characters, intricate and complex plot lines that unveil themselves organically, makes the experience K. Bromberg is gifting us with her talented writing, that much more gratifying! How could I not, when she snags my attention from the very beginning to end?! Pure Contemporary Romance GOLD! Can’t wait to see what she has reserved for us with the remaining Malone and delicious single parent, Medevac pilot, Grayson!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

“I’m not asking to be your whole world, Dylan, I just want to be a part of it. I want to be the part that revolves around you. I want to be the one who grounds you so we’re forced to come home to each other, even when we’re mad. I want to provide the arms that hug you and the hands that hold yours through whatever adventure awaits us. I want you and whatever the two of us decide we want for our future.”

I want the good, the bad, the ugly in life . . . and I want it with you.”

We let our scars fall in love.
We let our hearts heal each other’s.

Grady Malone and Dylan McCoy…oh these two are just EVERYTHING together! Instant sizzling chemistry! You have Grady’s swoon-worthy swagger and Dylan’s take no shit attitude! It was so perfect! It’s possible Grady Malone may be one of my favourite ‘Bromberg Boys’. New list to follow along with a full review #TwoInTwoOut

The hitch of his breath. The scent of his soap. The zap of his touch where his fingers rest on my forearm.....oh lord the sexual tension *Fans self
#LovingIt

Combust is book 2 of the Everyday Hero Series. We meet Grady Malone who is a sinfully sexy firefighter with a sensitive soul, tormented by past events that he had no real control over and Dylan McCoy, who although she is an extremely talented song writer has no confidence in herself because she believes she doesn't fit the mould of what she thinks men want. Throw in a cheating boyfriend who doesn't want to let her go, circumstances that force them to live very very closely and some sound advice from good friends and family and you have the perfect 'Bromberg' book. It's not a complicated love story and It shows us that we are more than we think we are and that people don't always judge us by our appearance but look deeper into who we really are and I liked that a lot. When you find the right person they will love you for who you are regardless of your past and the scars you bare. It's has the angst we love and pulls at the heart strings enough to cause a tear or two. There was something about the way Combust was written that took me back to the Authors earlier books and that made it all the more enjoyable for me. Sometimes it good to have some reality in a book that you can connect with and it didn't hurt that we were immersed into the Malone family again and much loved characters from Cuffed helped Dylan and Grady find each other and I'm glad that they did #TwoInTwoOut #FaceEverythingAndRise

Firefighter Grady Malone carries his scars not only on the outside but on the inside as well, he's sexy, funny and unapologetic, he also suffers the pain of survivors guilt and that's why he will never be able to commit to anyone. Song writer Dylan McCoy has just been burnt by her rock star boyfriend, needing to put some distance between them while she finishes off writing the contracted songs for his new album she finds herself becoming roommates with her brothers friend Grady. I loved this book, the characters were so lovable and their chemistry together was off the charts, how could you not fall in love with Grady? The story line was emotional yet humorous at times and the sex was so hot it set the sheets on fire. The only downside of the story was that it seemed a little too easy for Dylan to move from loving one man to another so quickly. But all over this was a great read.

Kristy Bromberg brings us book two of the Everyday Heroes Series.

Grady Malone is a hot, sexy firefighter with 8 pack abs and a heart of gold. He is every woman’s wet dream. Two years ago he lost his best buddy and has been fighting his demons and the nightmares that haunt him ever since.

Dylan is a sweet, feisty, hardworking, talented songwriter. She was betrayed by her ex-boyfriend and left him without looking back. She travels to Sunnyville to finish writing songs for the album she was contracted to do. Dylan needs a place to stay so her brother asks Grady to put her up for a couple of months. They are buddies and Grady is happy to do it. Grady works 24 hour shifts so they won’t be seeing much of each other, or will they?

Dylan and Grady both have different demons they fight on a daily basis, but when they are together, the attraction is electric. Is Grady willing to let go of his baggage to see where it leads, or are they destined to stay in the “Friend Zone” forever. His father once told him “fear everything and run, or face everything and rise.”

I loved this book. It pulls at your emotions as Dylan and Grady each fight their own set of fears and insecurities. I laughed at the interactions between the brothers, swooned as the dance began between Dylan and Grady, smiled as she comforted him when he opened up, and cried as Dylan fought through the guilt and loss while trying to come to terms with his emotions. This is such a well-rounded story that you can picture it unfolding in your mind page by page.

Fall in love with Grady and Dylan's story. I just did.

Ms. Bromberg made me cry.

Again.

Seriously, again.

This author, with her amazing characters and great story-lines with people I care about. I can't help but get teary. There is a scene, one that I am not going to give away, where a character mentions the number 7...BAWLING. Nope, no spoilers here, but you will know what I mean when you get there...because you will be crying.

Dylan and Grady have both had some things happen in their lives that have left them a little damaged, and a little broken. But, this is what makes them appealing and it makes them human. I related to Dylan, to the woman hurt by the man she still loves...struggling to move on, to not get stuck in the past, and to find the strength to NOT go back.

Grady is stuck in the past. He's trying to move forward, but he is still trying to come to grips with what happened, as the events in his past are the ones that come back in dreams, and in situations that are similar, and in days at the park when you see a person in the crowd who reminds you of what you have lost, through their connection to that loss.

So, all the angst and the crying are, as always with Ms. Bromberg's books, totally worth it. Because, with the angst you also get the joy. When your heart is connected and in your throat in the hard times it makes the romance, the sex, and the love that much easier to connect with.

This book is the second int he Everyday Heroes series, and while interconnected it can be read as a standalone. While I definitely recommend you start at the beginning, you can start here too.

I recommend this title.

5 Combust Stars

Well, well, well, K. Bromberg does it again. She sucked me in from the first line to the last.
I was a little iffy going into this book because I am freaked about fire, always have been probably always will be. And seeing it on TV or reading about it gives me the willies. Butttt I couldn’t resist this cover!!

Grady is smokin' hot and still sweet, I really loved that his friend asked him for help and he was like sure your sister can say here no problem. That just goes to show you he is a really great friend.

Dylan is sweet and totally nursing a wounded heart. But I think getting to see Grady and his circle of friends helps sooth that heart just a little. Who can be sad when you have a bunch of good-looking fellas around.

Their friendship really does pay a big role in how they become more and it is sweet and sexy all at the same time.

And hellooooooooo SebYo is the voice of Grady… Enough said! ;)

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Every book I take an interest in reading lately has the same disgusting plot device. I think female mc hearing/seeing male mc having sex with ow is romantic and a turn on. I still don’t think so.
