Royally Pucked (Copper Valley Thrusters® Book 2) Kindle Edition
When you’re an heir so spare that you’re more likely to be struck by lightning than to ever wear a crown, you’re allowed certain liberties.
But after taking those liberties with the wrong lady, I’ve been banished to America for a year. The world thinks it’s so I can indulge in my favorite pastime on a professional hockey rink, but really, I’m here while my father cleans up my latest mess.
My orders are clear: be an ambassador for my country, make the family proud, and stay far, far away from women.
No one ever said they had to stay away from me though.
Which is exactly how Gracie Diamonte, the world’s greatest baker, most adorable dinosaur-suit wearer, and the very model of kind innocence, sneaks past my defenses.
And my guard.
And how we end up facing a very unexpected pregnancy.
Of course I’ll stand by her while we navigate our newly entwined futures.
Just as soon as I solve that pesky problem of my other royal duties.
Royally Pucked is a hilariously wrong romance between a spare heir and the lady least likely to ever wear a princess crown, complete with dirty cookies, an emotional support monkey, and lots of pucking around. This romantic comedy stands alone with no cheating or cliffhangers and ends happily with a family of…more than two

About the author

Pippa Grant wanted to write books, so she did.
Before she became a USA Today and #1 Amazon bestselling romantic comedy author, she was a young military spouse who got into writing as self-therapy. That happened around the time she discovered reading romance novels, and the two eventually merged into a career. Today, she has more than 30 knee-slapping Pippa Grant titles and nine published under the name Jamie Farrell.
When she’s not writing romantic comedies, she’s fumbling through being a mom, wife, and mountain woman, and sometimes tries to find hobbies. Her crowning achievement? Having impeccable timing for telling stories that will make people snort beverages out of their noses. Consider yourself warned.

In Royally Pucked, Manning Frey is a ne’er-do-well prince who is banished to the US after his latest indiscretion. He crosses paths with Gracie Diamonte, an innocent small town girl and baker of naughty cookies. There are horizontal shenanigans and real feelings between the two but there’s also those other pesky life details. In Manning’s case, a fiancée he is trying to get rid of. And in Gracie’s, a growing business she is trying to keep on the down-low.
Manning and Gracie were great characters. Sure, they provide plenty of comedy but underneath, they are genuine people trying to do their best when faced with life hurdles.
In addition to the appearance of characters from previous books, we are also introduced to several characters in the town of Goat’s Tit. Yes, Goat’s Tit. And yes, these people are definitely “characters”.
I know I sound like a broken record, but it’s true. If you’re after a funny and light-hearted read, Pippa Grant’s your woman.

Why this book is a so very good surprise. I loved it was so different from the previous story. Of course, all the characters we love are back. This is still a rom-com but in a different way than Joey and Zeus crazy story.
This read is the perfect feel-good book, I smiled and laughed with Gracie and Manning. Even if their road to love is not a smooth and straight one, there is no crazy angst nor ugly breakup. They are enough smart to adult their acts, even trying to protect the other making sometime wrong decisions, there is no shouts nor roarings.
Manning and Gracie are two very touching persons, they have their flaws but they care for the others.
Gracie does not see as princess’ material but she would do anything in the name of love.
Manning tries to fit in his royal duties but he can’t give up Gracie in the name of his country.
They are a perfect match, beyond their chemistry under the sheets, Manning can be himself with Gracie as she expects nothing from him except being loved.
There is a lot of tenderness in this story, less laugh-out-loud moments but many many sweet scenes showing how much everyones care for the others, a great read of acceptance whomever you are.

Gracie Diamonte makes pornographic cookies. Yes, she does. She puts random people's genitalia on cookies and sends them all over the country, thanks to Etsy and a joke that went a little too far. But no matter, it pays the bills and keeps her little bakery in Goat's Tit, Alabama afloat. Not that anyone there knows about her little side hustle; otherwise, they'd probably stage an intervention involving holy water to save her soul. But Gracie's simple life is turned upside down after realizing the dream so many girls have: she got it on with a prince! But even though they used protection, Manning Frey must be carrying around some extra potent swimmers bc one time and BAM - she's pregnant. This is not how Gracie saw her life going, but it is what it is, and she has decided to rock single motherhood. The prince deserves to know he is going to be a father, though, so she treks to the big city for a surprise visit to break the news.
Manning is stunned. The one time he was able to shake his security detail for a few minutes (which gave him the opportunity to have explosive relations with the woman that had been on his mind since he first met her) resulted in a pregnancy?! Though his shock quickly changes to interest... in both being involved in his child's life AND spending more time with the enchanting Gracie. But since he has no way to get out of his marriage contract, is there any possibility of having the chance to do either? And since when does a woman NOT want anything to do with a prince like Gracie seems to? Is there any chance for a simple country girl and a polished prince to have a future together? But the bigger issue is... what the hell is up with the support monkey roaming around his apartment?!
What I liked:
--- The sense of humor in Grant's books shines through in this one again - several moments had me doubled over
--- I loved Manning's character
--- More time with Ares!
--- Steamy goodness! (Starts with a quick bang - literally - but then shifts to somewhat of a slow burn but worth it)
--- 2 words: support monkey
What I didn't like as much:
--- Some inconsistencies with characters (Gracie was kind of all over the place at times)
--- The match of these two was a little off the wall - it was hard to see why they were actually attracted to each other (Gracie was a constant hot mess; Manning was the epitome of cool & collected 98% of the time); I guess it goes toward the "opposites attract" element, but I didn't really get a solid sense of why they were a thing
Overall, another cute story with unforgettable characters, plenty of humor, and steamy goodness! I am very much looking forward to Ares's story coming up next.
Plot --- 3.5/5
Main Characters --- 4/5
Supporting Cast --- 4/5
Steam Level* --- 3.5/5
Violence --- none I can recall
Language --- yes
POV --- Dual
*Note that steam level is not a rating so much as a how hot was it: 0/5 - clean; 1/5 - mild (nothing descriptive); 2/5 - 3rd base action/1 home run; 3/5 - now we're getting somewhere (a couple of full-on steamy scenes); 4/5 - yes please! (erotica territory); 5/5 - they did EVERYTHING in this one, y'all
