Turns out my client is looking to bulldoze the red-cockaded woodpecker’s natural habitat in favor of a multimillion-dollar subdivision and the sexy attorney with legs for days (and days), just happens to be counsel for an animal rights group looking to put a halt to construction.
My client’s pissed, but all I can think about is getting Viveka across the table from me. And then on the table underneath me. Perhaps up against the wall. And then—
Well, let’s just say when it’s all said and done, I’m hoping the red-cockaded woodpecker isn’t the only pecker that gets some attention from Miss Viveka Jones.

Loved it!
Sawyer Bennett does it again! Ford and Viv were amazing and once I started reading I couldn't put the book down. The book was funny, hot and so well written. Save the (wood)peckers!

I loved this book, the last in Sawyer Bennett’s Legal Affairs series. This story, of an animal rights attorney pitted against a corporate lawyer, is unusual and keeps the reader engaged. Characters, as always from this author, are interesting and the banter back and forth is great. In addition to steamy scenes there is wit and humor. Bravo.
On a different note, in the Legal Affairs series The Pecker Briefs is preceded by Friction. Friction is not available on Apple books, no idea why. The characters in The Pecker Briefs are introduced in that novel.
Affair of the Heart
This book is part of the Legal Affairs Series but it can be read as a stand-alone. Ford Daniels is a partner in the legal firm of Knight and Payne. He finds himself representing a property development company whose housing development has been brought to a halt by an animal rights attorney, Viveka Jones. Seems there is an endangered species of woodpecker inhabiting trees on the property. These two have their work cut out for them. Not only are they bound to represent their clients, they are attracted to each other.
Sawyer does it again with clever phrasing, wonderful characters, and unforeseen plot twists. This series is just so much fun and so sexy. If you love Sawyer, you will love this book. If you are new to Sawyer, this is a good place to start.
