Four guys.

Constant moaning.

And a revolving door across the college suite I somehow ended up in because my first name is Shawn.

They don't discriminate. Girls. Guys. Grandmas. Plants (okay maybe not plants) all walks of life stroll in stressed to the brim, and leave so satisfied I'm wondering what sort of talents lie behind that door.

My roommate calls them the pleasure ponies.

But the rest of the college campus?

They just call them the new face of Wingmen Inc. A paid for relationship service that makes big promises.

Breakup? They'll glue you back together again.

Depressed? They have the magic pill.

Lonely? Just spend a few minutes while they rub you down and you'll forget all about it.

And broken hearts? Well, that's their specialty. They'll fix you.

For a price…

I swore I wouldn't get involved.

But apparently they like a challenge, and a girl who doesn't put up with their BS is basically like waving a red flag in front of a bull.

They. All. Charged.

But one holds my attention above the rest.

Knox Tate looks like a Viking — and getting pillaged is starting to look more appealing by the day. Though he's hiding something — all of them are. And the closer I get. The more I realize that some things are left better in the past.

You've read reverse harem books before — but you've never read one like this. It's not what you think, or is it? Dive in and find out…

Knox, Leo, Finn, and Slater are waiting, and they aren't patient men.

Welcome to the new face of Wingmen Inc — You're welcome.

i dont want to exist on an astral plane where black women are fetishized and their skin is referred to as chocolate milk

this was baaaaaad. i got 60% into it and i still don't know when the plot starts. it seemed to me that it probably just never does.

in essence: 3 dudes on campus referred to as, and i quote, THE PLEASURE PONIES are responsible for healing women after break ups by massaging, offering sweet words, but (again, i quote) NEVER PENETRATING. all of this so that they can get these women to sign up for a tinder style app that the young stallions get kickbacks from.

but along comes an "exotic" mixed woman who is "so unlike any other woman ever on the planet" that they all sort of have a crush on. but obviously the hottest of the 3 wants to stop his womanizing ways and get with the aforementioned chocolate milk skinned goddess.

and that's about as far as i got before closing my kindle app and swearing off new adult for a little while. this was not the sexy reverse harem story of my dreams. this was a poor attempt at a diverse mary sue character trying not to get the tingles when a viking warrior ass blasts her chakras (there's a reiki healing moment). hell naw. no. bye.

WARNING: THIS REVIEW IS A BIT LONG

It's a sad day when you realize that you're starting to fall out of love with a favorite author. Unfortunately, it feels like that is what is happening to me. I don't know if maybe she's pushing herself too hard to be an author that writes across multiple genres, or if my expectations of her are too high, or if she's just feeling burned out. But as of late I have divided my love of her books into "Old Rachel" and "New Rachel", but more on that in a minute.

To begin, I wanted to like this book. I LOVED the original Wingmen Inc books. But this.. whatever this was? Fell so far below what I expected that it was a struggle to finish it. I'm going to try and attempt now my reasons without giving too much away. (I'm going to do spoiler links just in case)

Now I'm going to admit that I have zero firsthand knowledge of reverse harem books. I had thought however, that the purpose of them was a single female having a connection with several men and having sexual relationships with each of them. To that end, this to me, is not a reverse harem. Sure she has a connection with the guys, but with three of them it's a friendship. She only really has a relationship with one of them. I feel like some fans of the true reverse harem are going to be strongly disappointed with this one.

My final complaint with this story is the fact that it seemed like the author seemed to insult people from the south. No I am not naive enough to think that racism doesn't still exist. I know it does. But when a direct line from the story reads "My parents warned me that not every place was as progressive as New York. I hadn't listened. Not until going to LSU" I tend to get a little irate. Suddenly I was left wondering if this was a book that was supposed to be taking place during the height of segregation. Or maybe she just feels like racism is more prevalent in the south than anywhere else? I don't know. Whatever the case may be, I feel like a lot of her recent books have lost the spark that made me enjoy her writing as much as I did. I keep hoping that will change.

That leaves us with my earlier statement "Old Rachel" vs "New Rachel". When I first began reading books from this author it seemed like she had a handful of releases a year (maybe 3-4 if that). Each book was witty, well-executed and the characters were as unique as the story-lines. I eagerly awaited each new story and typically loved all of them. And then something changed. Instead of having to wait months for new releases, it seems they are being released every other month (so far I've reviewed 3 others not including this one and I know she has a release scheduled for June as well). A look back at my blog? A release in January, one in February, one in March and now this in April. It seems like its more how many can I publish, not what am I giving my readers? And from an AUTHOR standpoint it makes sense. More books + More Genres = More Money. But when the QUALITY of the books suffers? Maybe not. Being completely honest? Some of the newer books? Seem like I could re-use an old review and just change the names and a couple of key plot details. That THING that made them Rachel van Dyken books is absent. It makes me sad as she was one of the first authors I took an active interest in.

Overall, there are people to whom this book may still appeal. And I'm sure this story will even bring in some new readers/fans. I would classify it more as a rom-com with a secret than a reverse harem though.

DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. This has not affected my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are 100% my own.

I honestly don't know why i read this. I saw a one star review of this book on my page and decided to check the book out. I think am too curious for my own good.

It's not a terrible book but it wasn't amazing either. It was full of cliches like the hot roommates, and a girl with a guys name etc. I like that the guys were not completely steroetypical.

One of the reasons I liked this book was for it's diversity. The lead female is an african american, 6feet tall and is an athlete.

"Why did it always have to be about race?
If they saw my heart, it beat the same.
I still bled.
I still wanted".

Girls in romance are usually made to be frail and delicate and I like that this book went against that trope.

HOLY COW!!!!
Rachel literally did an amazing job....AGAIN. It seems each book she writes is better then the last and trust me that is saying a lot!!! in this book we meet 4 VERY HOT GUYS! And the just happen to work for Wing man INC.
Now enters Shawn and Shawn is the new room mate. Here's the problem, Shawn is a very beautiful woman. She's a transfer student from LSU, I truly like Shawn. Strong woman. At points my heart did break for her . See Shawn is the daughter of a biracial couple and that fact causes her a lot of problems.
Knox, Finn, Leo and Slater find her very beautiful. BU there is a problem again. Slater doesn't trust his room mates. Why? you ask. You MUST read this book.
Rachel tackles another taboo subject and as usual she gets it. Trust me, I was personally effect by the subjects

There were times I was into this story and times when it just didn’t meet my expectations. It might very well be a case of “it’s not you, it’s me” but that was my personal experience.

I liked the intimacy and connection that wasn’t sexual. It was refreshing. However, there are certain boundaries that you respect with strangers you are meeting for the very first time that were breached in an attempt to perhaps be funny.

After the big climax, there is something very specific that the heroine does that, for me, not only didn’t fit the story but that felt like a very poor way for the author to send a message she clearly felt strongly about. We are blatantly told the message instead of having the actions speak for themselves. Even in doing so, it just didn’t make sense to me. It completely affected the flow of the book and by consequence, my experience with the story.

The main character’s growth was minimal but they were unique and interesting. The writing was excellent. The plot was pretty interesting with a bit of a mystery and twist. I felt that there was the potential for a deeper story than was delated and I would like to see what the author does with the supporting characters.

*5 Stars*

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

RVD is a fairly new author to me, as I only started reading her books last year. But, as I have come to expect, she never lets me down, and this book was no exception.

I really enjoyed this one, and I sped through it in less than 24 hours. It’s one of my first forays into anything like a reverse harem style of story, and let me tell you, RVD has done this so well. I loved these characters. Every. Single. One. Even grumpy old Knox and Slater too.

Shawn was a great female lead, and I really liked her. And those boys? Oh lordy…. *fans self*

The storyline flowed really nicely and didn't drag on, which was fabulous. There was always the wonder of what the story was about their past, and I started getting ideas and guessed quite close to what happened by the time it was revealed. Not the whole details, but part of them.

Everything comes together really nicely with this storyline, and I really enjoyed getting to know these guys. They all had such great personalities, and cheek, and tenderness. The whole package. Literally.

I really hope we get a book for each of the other 3 remaining dudes, and I also did not realise that there are two books prior this, which are connected to this story in a way as well. I definitely want to read those as well!

As always, highly recommend RVD! Loved this one!

This book! Starting it, I thought I’d be in for a cute, fun, and of course, RVD spectacular story. It had so much more depth & led me on an amazing rollercoaster of feelings. With Rachel’s author note, I didn’t know what to think. I love my reverse harem (in a more popular sense), but having her take on it, was just as special. This book was everything I needed and totally blew my expectations out of the water. It didn’t feel like a regular Rachel Van Dyken book, I don’t know how to explain it. But it still had the essence of overall love that is traditional in most of her books. I hope I’m making sense. Point is, I definitely recommend this book. You need it!

Oh my gosh I'm gonna try and put into words about how much i loved this without giving to much away, So first it's not your normal take on a reverse harmen, This is Rachel's version and i swear it's so so good, Knox, Leo and Finn were so much fun getting to know. And the story itself was just, well i started and then found i couldn't stop reading. So if your looking for a new take on a RH then please give this a go, it's so good.

Loving the original Wingman Inc. series as much as I did, I couldn’t wait to start this spin-off! You know when you’re reading a book and you find yourself smiling? Well, that was this book. But there’s a whole other element to this story, so much more going on than meets the eye, so much more than the witty banter, and I kept trying to piece together just what that was! I was curious, so so curious...I couldn’t put it down.

Shawn, who ends up living in the guy’s dorm because her name is mistaken for a male, encounters the three guys who are the new Wingman Inc. and whose job it is to please and/or help anyone needing their services. Knox, Finn and Leo are all walking sex on a stick, but what exactly do they do behind their closed doors that elicits all that moaning? Loved loved loved this book...this storyline is entertaining, completely intriguing and the ending gave me chills!

This is so not what I expected Jesus what a ride! This author sure knows how to wrap you up in a story and not let you go until the end!! I loved the hero of this story so much! My heart aches for him, but I loved how their relationship developed and how good it turned out to be! It was an amazing story for sure!

This has been on my TBR forever but I just never felt in the mood for a reverse harem story. Now that I've read it I can say it really wasn't reverse harem. And while I liked a lot of things about this book I just felt like it was a little too secrets and daggers for what I was expecting.

I really hate when people keep secrets that are public knowledge to everyone else. Obviously it's going to come out at an inopportune moment and cause a heap of drama so just man up and spit it out. Knox ran a little hot and cold for me and Shawn was a little doormatty at times. And everyone else was kind of wishy washy. Slater felt like he was hurt and mad at the boys but was still staring at them like a teenage girl at a one direction concert. Dude you can't have these strong feelings about something they have done then still want to be BFFs.

Overall it was a good read and since it's a KU title it's even better and I am planning to read the rest of the series but this one just missed the mark for me a little.

A sweet rom-com college romance!

Spoilers ahead!

I have been a fan of Rachel Van Dyken for a long time, and the Wingman Inc. is one of my favorite romantic comedy series ever, so of course, I had to read this! Co-Ed is a standalone novel but also a spin-off on the Wingman Inc. series. It's inspired by reverse harem books, but not as sexual, and it's also an interracial romance!

"Kinky", He nodded. "I like it. Maybe save that shit for date seven, though. You
can't just bust it out on date one. You keep the freak flag inside until it's the right
time to let it fly."

My main problem with this book was that this isn't exactly a reverse harem book, even though it's being advertised as one. The heroine has a sexual relationship with only one of the guys, and with the other three of them, it's a sweet friendship with a beautiful bond. There was much tenderness going on!

The flirty banter that the author is very known for is still there, and I loved the sweetness and friendship. However, from the way it has been marketed, I expected more from the reverse harem aspect of the story. Saying that I can't wait to read what will happen to the other guys!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I don't know if it's necessary to have read the Wingmen books, but I feel like I would have had a better understanding of some things going into this book. I mean, I thought the whole concept of these three guys was odd, and I know there are professional cuddlers and whatnot, but it was still a little odd for me. The saving grace was that I actually liked the guys, liked the heroine, enjoyed many of their interactions, and was interested in finding out what happened three years ago. The mystery reveal was quite shocking, and I found it satisfying.

Rachel has a way of bringing you in and surprising you. This new book is just as amazing as anything else she has wrote. We get to meet the new faces of Wingman Inc and get a glimpse into someone's struggle. Even though there is very real problems in this story Rachel brings it to light in a lighthearted way. It's not too heavy and the book still has her signature humor. I loved this book and I'm sad I finished it already.

When Shawn finds herself sharing a dorm at college with a male she isn't surprised at all because she always gets took for the male species because of her boyish name. Then she hears the moaning behind the opposite door that sounds very like group fornicating, Shawn is intrigued and immediately wants to know whats going on behind that door. Shawn's roommate Slater doesn't do very much explaining on the matter but instead tells her to stay clear of the 3 men behind that door.

Knox Turner is one of those men behind that door and when he finally gets to meet Shawn he is drawn to her like a moth to a flame. However Knox doesn't get involved with women, it's been 3 years since it happened and he doesn't want to be in that place where hearts get broken and bad things happen. His roommates are relentless though and happen to know how he feels. There's a lot of surprises in store for all of them and the journey hasn't been an easy one.

The characters in this book are a total hoot and you won't feel anything towards them but love. The author has given them all unique personalities that would keep you entertained for hours upon hours. The story itself will take you from laughing at the characters antics to gasping at the twists in the story. It has a little of everything and it definitely hots up as well.

Why is it that Rachel Van Dyken always knows what I need when it comes to cheering me up, I mean I was down and hey presto, along comes Co Ed making me laugh a ton of times and reviving my spirit all in one go. I wanted more and I am hoping we get more of these characters. When I read the blurb and saw it was a spin off of Wingman Inc and that it was reverse Harem, I was instantly giddy for this book. It's Witty, fun, happy and sad all rolled into one. I need more more more and I really hope we get the other guys stories as well.

Right from the start, Co-ed hooked and entangled me in an addictive story! Not once did I put it down since starting, and that's a real inconvenience when you decide to do that at 11pm.
Reverse harem... I'm so obsessed, especially when RVD weaves her own style through it, and most of the time left me wanting and breathless and absolutely giddy.
There's depth to this fun and steamy read, and I absolutely loved it

Another RVD book that’s a hit!!! Co-ed by Rachel Van Dyken is a spinoff of the Matchmaker series and so in this book RVD once again writes a story that engages her readers to a fun, playful and entertaining read. This book had the right amount of humor, raw emotions, and romance. So if you are looking for a fun college romance comedy then this book is for you.

Well, I'll be damned! I've got a new fantasy now. 😬

Imagine college life. Am athlete girl with a total boy name: Shawn. She lives in the boys dorm, because well, the registration office made an honest mistake. Cue in the roommates: 4 super hot guys.
Three of them run a successful business. They offer pleasure . Anything you need, from massage, to talking to whatever you pay for.

Of course, they like Shawn, befriend her, one of them falls in love for the first time in three years. It's amazing how they take care of her. How much attention they pay, how funny and sweet they are in all their hotness and badassness. That's how I learned about the reverse harem thing.

This book made laugh a lot, a few tears escaped here and there, but it was amazing!

Holy Smokes – that is one seriously HOT book! Rachel Van Dyken is the queen of Mafia romance and the queen of Romantic Comedy, but Co-Ed is a bit of a different style – a little RomCom with some serious weaved throughout. There is a connection between this book and Wingmen, Inc. and a few familiar faces make an appearance in the book - but Co-Ed is a complete stand-alone and you do not need to read the Wingmen, Inc series first.

This book is somewhat different other RVD books in that it starts with one girl and a group of guys (get your mind out of that gutter!) as college suitemates. Know this going in – it is a story of ONE guy and ONE girl falling in love that brings a few extra people into the friendship.

Co-Ed is so well written that I couldn’t put it down. Not once did I close this book, I may have carried it to the fridge for some wine, but I won’t tell. It felt like one minute I was at the top of the roller coaster looking over the edge and the next I was plummeting down into the depths of angst and college-hell and right back up again. RVD takes us on a journey of friendship, romance, and love.

There will be laughs and snorts (of course), tears and sorrow, but know that this is a complete story with no cliffhanger. Knox, Leo, and Finn are all my favorite characters and not just because they are hot, sexy, Thor-like gods. Maybe. Rachel Van Dyken has the best sense of humor and after this book, we all want to be Shawn.

Fantastic read and it will go to the top of my must-read, Summer Beach List.

Another cute light-hearted read from RVD.

After seeing the synopsis, I admit to being a little apprehension. I've read harem books in the past and was always left heartbroken. Rest assured, the heroine, Shawn only has one love interest. The other guys in the book are friendly in nature, although I didn't quite grasp some aspects of their relationships with Shawn. Knox was more of a grouchy bear, but I enjoyed the chemistry between he and Shawn. There is plenty of banter and silly antics this author is know for. If you enjoy her comedic books, this one will be another one to read.

Although this is loosely connected to the Wingman Series, this book can be read as a complete standalone. Thank you to the author for my advanced review copy.
