KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

THEIR FIRST FALL: Is a Full length, romance novel by new to me Author ‘MJ Fields’ Spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives’ In this we meet ‘Trucker & Keeka’ In two parts.

After quitting school seventeen year old Keeka leaves behind the town she’d loved so much and makes her way to Syracuse a place that brought such happy memories of a younger life. It’s here that she literally bumps into Trucker on his twenty-first birthday the bar where she waitresses and lives.

As soon as I started I got pulled into the storyline. The writing style is so easy to connect with, the characters easy to relate to.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Trucker is a legend in his own right and beside him is his bestie Logan, these two are as tight as brothers, their love for each other jumps off the pages, they have each others backs through the ups and downs of their lives. With one goal in mind, and one goal only and that's to make it as an NFL quarterback, nothing, and no one will step in his way.

But what he didn't encounter on was Keeka, the girl who lives day by day striving to just be happy, to live in the moment. These two have an undeniable turbulent relationship, both trying to be better than their pasts.

Both of these characters haven’t had an easy life, you don’t know the full extent of what they have endured until you get further into the book.

This book was chocker full of goodness!! I loved these characters, but Trucker won my heart with the first line out of his mouth, I giggled, I swooned, I inhaled, I loved..This won't be the last book I read by this author. A unique, un-put-downable, worthy of a one click release day..

Until half the book :🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
And then BOOM! (and not the good sexy one) all the stars are gone!
He cheats...every day...in front of her...
A a a a and he's mad about her because he finds her sleeping in his roommates bed (waiting for him to finish with his threesome)!
So pathetic....both of them 👎

I am at a loss, how is this author still going after the Love series? A series which has prolific cheating, a weak heroine, and a manipulative storyline where the heroine finally finds a good guy, who is then conveniently killed off to reunite the reformed cheater and the doormat? A toxic series that could shame After by Anna Todd. Fields Truth About Love series was not much better. So I am not surprised in the least to read she has written a horrific, disloyal hero, who is protected and loved by a sweet virgin heroine. This is not Mills and Boon, this is not the 1970s, this abusive bullshit needs to get dropped real quick, give us some worthy, decent heroes for a change, that would actually be original and refreshing.

I wanted to love this

I was looking forward to this book so much. I am a HUGE MJ fields fan. But Trucker was such a douche! I couldn’t forgive him. He slept with so many other women, knowing he was in love with Keeka and knowing that she was in love with him. He flaunted it. When he got his contract he started flaunting all of the women (of course all celebrities, singer supermodel etc) that he was screwing. He specifically said that he was putting everything on social media hoping that she would see it. She was a saint, she did nothing but think of him. She was a virgin, who of course never even looked another guy. I’m so disappointed in mJ over this one. She usually has so much “girl power”. But in this book the heroine does everything she can to protect the hero, and he throws her away to be a major slut. I could forgive an indiscretion because he was trying to forget her, but no MJ had to drill it into our heads what he was a faithless cheating scumbag. She came to help him because his friend called her to get him on the phone. She tried to get him and has to wait it could while he has a THREESOME! Then he accuses this girl that he know was a virgin before him, of being a slut! She takes it all and is still there for him. She goes through an entire pregnancy alone and scared. While he was out dating the supermodels of course. The long story short is that the author really overplayed the manwhore care with him. It didn’t fit the story, my heart broke for her and I wish she had found someone else. He didn’t trust at all and he didn’t deserve her trust to begin with. I hope the rest of the series gets back in truck. Her first kiss is one of my favorites...

Trucker sure has confidence in himself, "all you’re gonna be needing to do is rest and recover. I play hard, Ray, and I don’t quit until I effing win.” Trucker is not a sharing man, "...And if you think I wouldn’t kill some mothereffer if you let him do **** to you, you’re lying to yourself.” Trucker is sometimes confused by his woman, "...She whips her shirt up and unhooks one cup of her bra. Effing trap door. “What the eff are you doing?” I ask, standing up in front of her." I really liked this book, I loved Trucker.

Keeka and Trucker what a beautiful story.
Trucker is a college football player for the Syracuse Orangemen . He is on the path to great things . He doesn't have a what we call a normal family. His mother comes and goes from his father and his life and it is always tumultuous. He does though have the support of his friends and teammates , they are his true family.
Keeka, she has such a sad difficult childhood. Her mother was at a constant battle with her mental illness and once she took her life she was raised by her mother's friend . Keeka quits everything that she knows and leaves that life at 17. She moves to Syracuse where she remembers happy times as a child with her mom . She begins waitressing at a bar that regularly hosts the football team. She is constantly beating off advancements from men in the bar with her sass, wit and cool but calm disposition . She has it all figured out until He walks in.
They have an instant attraction but Trucker doesn't want a relationship to distract his dream and Keeka doesn't have the ability to trust and love. SO they fall begins .
Loved their story so much it had all the components that I so enjoy. love, romance, mystery, angst, and a beautiful connection between the characters.

Whatever you are doing just stop and pick up this book. Their First Fall is a read that will have you laughing out loud, shedding that tear and just knowing that you are reading words that will have you feeling it all the way down into your soul.
Trucker is a man looking toward greatness, he is the Quarterback for SU, a great teammate, a great friend comes from dysfunction but knows deep down he will be great one day it’s all in the goals. What he doesn’t expect is literally bumping into Keeka.
Keeka is a young woman looking for her happiness, Going back to what you know might get you there but when she meets the one and only Trucker Cohen it’s the moments that count.
Trucker & Keeka go through so many different emotional ups and downs, words will be said, truths and lies will be told but the only one you hope they will have is a HEA.
If you are looking for a story that will have you giving the biggest Sigh when you see the words The End then this is the one you most definitely do not want
to miss.

Their First Fall is sweet, steamy, humorous and a story full of Feels!! Keeka and Trucker have this super-hot chemistry when they first meet and it carries throughout the story. Trucker is a beautiful man, yet he is a man with a broken soul. Things from his past were not good and have left him with emotional scars. It even has affected his relationships to the point that he doesn’t trust. He comes across as this strong, overly confident, sexy man when really at times he wasn’t all that confident. He also could be somewhat of a jerk and that had me wanting to shake him when he acted like a jerk. Keeka is this strong young woman who is so sassy, sweet and smart. Though she too has demons in her past that she is running from. Her story had me in tears at times but she was such a fighter, and I rooted for her happiness from the start. They met in the most unexpected way and Trucker fell in love instantly. She wasn’t having anything from him but that didn’t deter Trucker and he kept pursuing Keeka. Yet their relationship ended up being one of short term kind after Trucker reacted terribly to something Keeka said. There was nothing bad at what she was saying but he took it the wrong way and ended their relationship which left Keeka devastated… moving forward we then see then in their new lives—Keeka has people who care about her and look out for her , wanting to make sure she is happy and healthy. While Trucker is getting to live out his dream but is he happy, no not really. Tragedy is what brings them back face to face since he acted like a complete jerk towards her. Trucker still loves her but isn’t ready to admit this. Keeka has people who are looking out for her. Can they find their way back to each other after everything that has occurred, all the pain and heartbreak? This is one emotional rollercoaster ride that had me hooked instantly. Keeka and Trucker’s emotional story will have you rooting for the main characters’ HEA to occur. Its soulful, beautiful and instense- just the way a romance story should be. Ms. Fields wrote a story from the heart with characters that come off as believable and enjoyable. The love scenes will have you needing a cold drink and a fan afterwards, that’s how hot those scenes got. Overall, this was a story that left a FEELS side mark.

“I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."

Whew! This one was tugged so hard at the heartstrings. This is Trucker and Keeka's story. readers familiar with the author will recognize them from other books. However, these two needed to tell their own story.

I am always a champion for the broken hero and man does Trucker fit the bill. He is a star athlete but he doesn't like to admit the life that shaped him. Push come to shove, he lives up to those low expectations when the sh*t finally hits the wall. Keeka comes from nothing but loss and life with a mentally ill mother. Yet her belief to just live each day and find some happy, really grounds her in the end.

These are college age folks so there comes some angst with that age group. Mostly, I just wanted to kick Trucker up side the head. Laugh, yell, fan your face and sob with these two. Great read!

Loved seeing the tie in to the Steel family. Great to see London her family as well. Can't wait for MORE!!

💥#BOOM 💥Trucker and Keeka stole my heart! ❤

MJ Fields paints a beautiful picture with her words which makes me feel as though I'm living the story with the characters.

This story elicited almost every feeling imaginable .. crying sad tears for the pasts and the beliefs of what they thought couldn't be .. laughing for the hilarious ER scene (oh boy did I LOL) .. frustration, anger, confusion .. and most importantly.. LOVE!

The theme of a broken soul rings true throughout while you hope for a HEA. I encourage you to not only read this book .. but re-read it because revelations made toward the end of the book will put a whole new meaning to the beginning. I've re-read it twice already .. yep that's three times and I promise you I will be revisiting Keeka and Trucker often.

I would have to say that Trucker is easy a top five BBF in terms of MJ's books. The thing is she creates such unique storylines and characters that I absolutely fall in love with them. How could you not?!

Not only has the story captured my heart, but having a phenomal playlist and discovering new songs along the way is definitely an added bonus.

Succeeding in life, overcoming the past and learning to love - a trifecta of romance novel themes that MJ far surpasses my expectations on .. each and every time!

Trucker is an arrogant yet self assured man that works hard for his goals and plays harder.

Keeka (aka Ray aka Keeks) is a fighter .. refusing to quit when she's been through so much. I really enjoyed her ability to hold her own and give as good as she got while bartending.

The dynamics of their relationships is heartbreaking and endearing all rolled into one. I loves their games of #TruthorTale.

These types of books are journeys. They aren't a quick race to the end and they aren't always an easy read, but they're life and they're beautiful. This is the story for Trucker and Keeka and if you've read other books by this author, then you may recognize these names, but now you get their story.

Their story is not perfect, but it's theirs. I definitely want to kick some sense into both of them, but I think their story wouldn't be the same without the journey the had to take.

If you're ready to take the plunge, be ready to experience something you may not be ready to.

Outstanding. This book is amazing as always MJ Fields had done it again. Keeka and Trucker's story is a modern day happily ever after. This book has it all the laughter, tears, and a heartbreaking storyline. The characters are easy to relate to and loveable. This is possibly one of my all time favorite books ever.

I absolutely loved the first half of the book as much as i hated the second half. It felt like 2 different authors wrote it to turn the hero to a complete different asshole. I was all ready to give this book a 5 star but after reading the entire book i was so shocked and hurt with hero's behavior (and heroins poor attitude to put with him) i had to immediately start another random book to wash away the hurt and annoyance hero caused me :(

This is NOT FOR ANYONE who likes BS NA angst that is WAY over the top. Pretty much nothing but 500 pages of complete drivel. It was like a telemundo soap on steriods. The shit that comes out of Trucker's mouth and how he talks about Keeka and the baby, I would have told him to fuck off and never look back.

This book was not for me. I am usually a huge fan of sports romance, throw in a secret baby and I’m all in but I just didn’t like the writing or H in this book. H was horrible pretty much the entire book and never really redeemed himself. The writing was confusing, half the time I wasn’t sure who was saying what.

This is going to be kind of sappy as most of my Legacy reviews are because the Legacy series mean so much to me. It has taking me hours to find the words to even do this review because I had to get my emotions in check.

Trucker is...he just is. Coming from a family with an in-and-out mother, in for a few weeks or a couple of weeks and then out for even longer and a dad who allowed it and worked hard but did not give his son the attention he needed. Then he meets Logan Links at school and he was brought into the Links family fold.

Keeka's childhood was one of non stability her mother frequently experienced highs and lows and she never knew her father. When her mother was having her bad days she found solace and drawing. But when her mother decides she no longer wants the highs and lows Keeka's decides she's ready to to leave the memories behind and go and find herself.

When the Hot Shot quarterback meets The Feisty Latino bartender Sparks Fly. They agree to be each other's for a season no strings each of them find theirselves falling. But something happened and big secrets are revealed their first fall becomes a crash.

Secrets are spilled, secrets are kept, best friends, brothers break apart.
As always Miss. Fields sucks you in hold your heart and then throws it on the ground and stomps on it picks backup and glues it back together.

I could literally feel these people's every emotion. Yes I said people these are real people nobody can tell me differently.

You can feel Keeka's sadness as she remembers and relives certain things she went through with her mother. You can feel her excitement when Trucker comes around. You can feel her love from being around someone who gives her nothing but happiness and who she wants to be happy. You can feel your heart shattered into a thousand pieces when everything that made her happy is now gone. Then you can feel the Glee in the joy of when she finds her"football".

You can feel Truckers anger of what he went through with his mother and his father allowing it to happen. You can feel the love between Trucker and Logan the Friendship the Brotherhood the Love of the Game. And you can feel his crash and burn when Keeka's secrets break him. You can feel his loss and your chest tighten when a young man he was helping and made friends with life is lost. And you can feel the hurt he feels when the family that has shown him love goes through tragedy but yet he feels he is is pushed to the wayside.

I actually finished reading this book last night but I had to get my mind and my emotions in check before I could do this review because I was a mess. I was a snotty, blubbering mess and in my feelings. I wanted to reach out and hug each of these people and let them know somebody loves them but in the end they found the biggest family that ever could love them.

This is a story of love, secrets, and a fall that turns into a crash quite literally.

MJ Fields has done it again with this amazing book! I'm so in love with Keeka and Trucker that I'm not sure where to start this review! I loved watching these two grow into the people they became. It's the events throughout their lives that lead them to be who they are. This book was sexy, sweet, funny, and heart wrenching! We met Keeka and Trucker in the Firsts Series! I loved getting to read their story though! It's so complex and multilayered!

Trucker...where to begin with this beautifully broken man. Trucker's younger life was questionable at best. Not having a mother around really hurt him. It made him jaded when it comes to relationships. Trucker is strong, confident, sweet, and I wanted to slap him upside the head at times! There were parts in this book that made me really dislike him, but then he would do something so incredibly sweet and redeem himself! In the end...I fell for him, hard! Trucker is everything I wanted him to be and more. When I heard he was getting his own story, I really wasn't sure. What I knew of Trucker from the first series wasn't good. But in the end...I'm so glad he did!

Keeka...I've love this girl from the start. She is probably of if the strongest heroines I've ever had the pleasure of reading! Keeka is broken. Her past is riddled with pain and all she wants to do is escape! Keeka seriously broke my heart, but girlfriend is a bad a$$ and comes back fighting, always stronger than before. Keeka is a complex character. She's smart, sweet, and has whit for miles. I loved her sass. Keeka's hiding though too. When she learns to move forward she a force of nature! I loved every unbelievably second I got to share with Keeka!

This story has it all! It's one I started and could not put down. It kept me wanting more with each page. It made me laugh, it made me cry, and it made me whole. There are very few books that make me reevaluate my own life. Make me wonder if I really know how the people around me struggle, this book did that and more! Thank you MJ!

Review by Lisa Kane

I have such mixed emotions about this book. MJ Fields' writing is always reader worthy. However...the main character, Trucker...nope. Just nope.

I wasn't a fan of this guy's in the First series and now his and Keeka's story is told on Their First Fall. Now as far as Keeka goes, other than being a doormat for Trucker, she's sweet and kind hearted and just cares too much. She had a crap childhood, but had done all she can to rise above it.

Trucker is on the fast track to the NFL. He's best friends with Logan Links. (yep, he's Lucas's boy)But he has very little in common with Logan. (at least as far as personalities go) Trucker is arrogant and egotistical and is just plain mean. When he mistakes a situation and believes Keeka slept with several of his football friends, well the things he says to her, still make me cringe.

Does he redeem himself at the end? Not nearly enough for me. He had a rough upbringing himself, but so did Keeka. While she forges ahead and stands on her own merits, he blames everyone and everything for his own actions.

I adore Lucas and Logan, but their over the top treatment of Keeka and her situation-just too much. They are all practically strangers at the time and yet they are completely involved in every aspect of her life. I thought it was strange behavior in the First series, and reading it here didn't change my opinion at all.

Does this story deter me from reading another of MJ Fields' future books? Not in the least. Not every story connects with every reader. I wouldn't hesitate to pick up her next book.

I picked this one up because someone had mentioned it as a dark secret baby romance, and that is something that I just never see. I was intrigued. And it is by an author that I have read and loved in the past. While there were some not-so-light parts, I definitely wouldn't consider it dark. It was good, but not what I was expecting or looking for. There was a lot of anger between the two main characters once we hit a certain point, and while it may have been slightly warranted, it still felt like the reactions were too over the top for what had happened. And I'm not sure that the Hero did enough to redeem himself, at least not in my eyes. But, as I said, it was an okay story. I did the audiobook version, and really liked both new-to-me narrators. I am kind of excited to see some of the friends and siblings get their own books, as I'm sure they will since their background storylines were heavily glossed over throughout this book.

The book sucked big time,
For the plot's worth, it should have been much concise and Trucker is a major douche. The first half of the story was sorta okayish, but then Trucker's attitude got very ugly. He was shit talking so much about Brooklyn in a way no guy who "Truly Loves" a woman would speak.

Finally MJ is backing . I loved this story and I didnt have to have a backlog of who is who . Trucker and Keeka College Football Star turns Pro meets Gyspe Bartender. Little Ray and his endearment with scratching behind her ear so cute. Robby that kid priceless hysterical.

Keeka trying to just live and be happy. Her mom had mental illness and died. Keeka been own her own for along time. She goes back to a time she felt like it was home. To get a job she has to leave a few truths out to get a job. She blows down everyone that hits on her. When she meets Trucker it all changes. She wasnt looking for anyone but he was hard not to see. She falls but when truth comes Trucker is done and Keeka has more than she ever asked for including a whole new family she never knew.

Trucker is mom had messed his head up and his trust in woman is very slim. Hes has no time for anyone only during cuddle season he finds some to spend his time with if that. This yr is the bartender he drawn too. When they break each others hearts. Hes off to the pros living the life. He hears things about her but it cant be true. It cant be she wouldnt do that. He hates kids and when Robby gives him a run for his money this kid just loves pissing off Trucker.

I loved how Logan stayed friends with her.
How London Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge are both strong

Shaving scene so funny omg Trucker and his sense of humor loved him

"I like tits bigger than pint-size, Little Ray, so cut the shit and walk with me so you're not high beaming the entire football team and every other guy in the place who'll see those and be a fuck of a lot less worried about your virtue than I am."

"Truth based on facts,Ray. Feeling and shit. We can keep thoughts, like very private thoughts I may have about your ass, to ourselves."

"Can we never talk about our past again? I want to live-"In the moment"

"I can smell how hot you are... and wet. I know your little slit is gonna fucking taste delicious, with or without the fur coat."

"Sometimes, the truth is better left unsaid."And sometimes it sets you free."

"But beautiful creatures aren't easy to look away from.. And true loved? A million miles, a million years, won't change what the heart wants. What does you heart want, Trucker?

They both have past they havent over come. When all you want is truth but believe the tales. These 2 have so many demons. Keeka wants him to live his dream so she doesnt tell him. When he does find out he doubts it till he sees her he knows. How to you make it right.

OK I admit it took till chapter 2 to figure out who this book was about and then I was totally hooked.
Keeka had a terrible heartbreaking life and finally found her place in the world at such a young age. Trucker is so focused on his future plans for football he doesn't want anything to get in his way. Trucker and Keeka meet and nothing is the same. I love that all the Crew are a part of the story, we know the background from London and Logan's stories. I cannot wait for more.

Trucker and Keeka, ❤️. These two reminded me so much of my other two favorite couple, Tessa and Lucas. The only difference was that Trucker was a bit more mature than the Lucas was at that age.

Trucker was going places, his eyes set on becoming pro. Keeka only wanted to be happy and live in the moment. She had no intentions of holding back Trucker. They met in the most unexpected way and he was smitten from the beginning. He pursued her until she caved. How could she not?! He was funny and actually had a good heart. Keeka had the heart of gold. That girl was just wonderful from beginning to end. They had lots of similarities in the way that they grew up especially the issues with their mothers; but that didn’t stop them from trying to pursue their dreams. Their short term relationship which came with an expiration date from when it started was just the cutest and emotional. They went thru so much and taught each other so much. Keeka was quiet but had her fire and sassy inside that I enjoyed when it surfaced. Things ended with them terribly after something that I personally think Trucker overreacted a bit much but that was just him.

Part 2 shows them in their new lives. Keeka was happy and had made some discoveries. She also had a huge support system and had a guardian angel and protector from the most unexpected person which warmed my heart. Trucker was living out his dreams but actually wasn’t happy. When a tragedy brought them face to face for the first time again he acted like an a$$hole and she was so calm. Her protector was not letting her handle Trucker alone. I loved how her new support system were with her and how they embraced her and welcome her in. When Trucker finally opened his eyes she was there waiting. Their reunion was beautiful and emotional and he made sure to show her how much he cared.

I can’t wait to read more on this couple and also this group. They’ve always been there for each other and go thru everything together.

I really enjoyed the story between Trucker and Keeka. They both have a rough family history and one would think that this would be the driving force to bring them together but instead it pushes them apart. Keeka never wanted Trucker to lose sight of what he was working towards and wanted him to live his dream. Of course after much angst, they eventually work through their issues and have their HEA.
MJ wrote another great book that could be read as a stand alone.

Arrogant football star meets sexy but innocent bartender and moments are made. This book will take you on an emotional roller coaster but in the absolute best way. This is my favorite MJ Fields book to date. If you are a fan of hers this is a must read!!!
