About this ebook

Hailed by Rachel Van Dyken as “equal parts sexy, intense, and emotional,” Sarah Robinson’s blistering-hot series debut introduces the Kavanagh brothers—mixed martial arts fighters who work hard, play hard, and love with all their hearts.

As one of the big names at his family’s gym, Legends, MMA star Rory Kavanagh is used to being in the spotlight—until a gruesome leg injury knocks him out of the cage. Rory is left feeling sidelined in more ways than one, battling the inner demons that come with losing the one shot at his dreams. Then Clare walks into his life and gives him a new dream: winning her heart. There aren’t many new faces in Woodlawn these days, but this tough, beautiful stranger makes Rory want to get his life back into fighting shape.

Clare Ivers doesn’t think she’ll be able to tell anyone what really brought her to the close-knit Bronx neighborhood where she just started bartending. But her life’s on pause and her past is catching up fast, try as she might to move on—with new friends, steady work, and a chiseled alpha male trying to get her attention. Even though Rory’s more than a little intense, she can’t deny that her heart beats faster when he looks at her with those soulful silver eyes. Clare thought she was done with love, but Rory might just be man enough to show her she thought wrong.

Wow, my Kindle is smoking from this story! Breaking a Legend is the first book in the new Kavanagh Legends series by Sarah Robinson. If this book is a taste of what this series has in store for us then I can't wait to get my hands on the next installment. The Kavanagh family is an Irish family of five alpha males and a cousin. They are a very close-knit family and like all families they have their own issues to deal with. Rory Kavanagh is the eldest brother in the series. Reeling from the loss of a very promising MMA career, Rory turns to drugs and alcohol to dull both they physical and emotional pain. A playboy who isn't looking for anything series Rory seems content with his life until he lays eyes on the new bartender in town. Clare Ivers moved to New York to start a new life for herself. Needing to get a fresh start, Clare doesn't want or need a man in her life to complicate things. After leaving behind an abusive ex in California, Clare is just trying to stay under the radar. As part of her plan to start over Claire decided to take a self-defense class at the local gym owned by the Kavanagh brothers. After being around Rory on a continuous basis, Clare starts to see there is more to Rory and pushes him to become a better person. She also finds herself feeling safe with Rory and start to open up to him. When things start looking up for these two Clare's past comes back to haunt here and she has to decide if she can put her trust and faith in Rory and his family to help her or if she will run again. I received an eARC of this book compliments of the publisher for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.

The chemistry between these two was just sizzling, as one would hope when picking up an MMA romance. It made the quick pace of their relationship a bit more understandable and also brought out the more sensitive side of Rory — even as he tried to keep his man card up. Of course, there was the psycho ex to deal with, not to mention all the feminine eyes tracking Rory, but while it followed a somewhat standard romance pattern, it didn’t venture into annoying cliché territory. All in all, Breaking a Legend is a fun, hot start to what’s sure to be an incredibly entertaining series, and after falling in love with pretty much everyone in the book, I can’t wait to see whose story we get next. ***FicCentral received this book from Random House LLC (via NetGalley) for free in exchange for an honest review.

Another new author to add to my collection. Thanks NetGalley. Breaking A Legend is a sultry look at the struggles to start over. Rory has to face a career ending injury and Clare is running away from her past and focusing on her future. Sarah Robinson did a beautiful job of luring the reader in to the world of MMA. I also liked how she allows the reader to follow the story through each characters mindset in their own words, from their point of view. That was a nice touch. Great start to the Kavanagh series. I received an ARC of Breaking a Legend in exchange for an honest review.
