Falling #8

Falling for Nicole

Rate this book
Hate is easy. Love takes courage.

My life is sweet. I work hard, party harder, surf whenever the hell I want and get any woman I desire. It can’t get any better.

Then my worst enemy moves to town.

I’ve hated her from as early as I can remember, and now she’s taunting me once again.

Or tempting me?

It seems the girl who plagued my younger years is now a woman I can’t get out of my head.

I’m falling for my childhood enemy.

Nothing good can come of this, or can it?

Falling for Nicole is a steamy enemies to lovers romance, and the penultimate installment in Tracy Lorraine’s Angel series.

Eh, it was ok.

Honestly, it was a good book. I just wanted more insight to how they got to the point of being so mean to each other. I wanted more background on their relationship... It was just this huge missing part. Maybe that's just me...

I didn't hate this book, but I definitely didn't like it. Nicole was such a plain character, really selfish and not very smart. Declan, on the other side, was an idiot who didn't know what he wanted. They were not better together: in my opinion, there was no chemistry and a lot of unnecessary drama.

This is definitely an enemy to lovers story, full of sass, sexy times, some angst, a lot of sexual tension, hidden feelings for many years, denial, truths revealed, passions unleashed, happy moments for other characters too (which had me so happy to see these characters again!), forgiveness, love and a 100% guaranteed happy ending for Nicole and Declan <3

This story had a great story-line, plot-line was also definitely on point, the dialogue was funny, sexy and at the same time, it was direct too. I can't wait to read more from this author, Tracy Lorraine and see what her next story will be about and who? I'm already intrigued to see who's next from this series, "Angel" <3

Nicole and Declan's story was pretty funny. This is really one of those situations where I think about the little boy who made fun of the little girl and her mom says it's only because he likes you. The nicknames that Declan had for Nicole were hilarious. I am so glad that Nicole had some help in rebuilding her life after her mom passing away. It was interesting to see how protective Declan was over Nicole even before he realized his feelings for her, no wonder why his family always had a feeling it would happen. The speedbumps along the way make it all worth it in this hea book.

WOW I have no idea where to begin with this review. Tracy's work always does me in wither I am laughing or crying. This book it blew me away! I have cried this much during a book in a long while. This is a beautiful story that draws you in and doesn't let you go. You will not be able to sit this book down to do anything, so you will need to clear your schedule for this one. This book drew me in from the very first page and would not let me go. This book deserves was more then 5*. Guys be ready for an emotional rollercoaster you wont want to get off of.
I was in love with Nicole from the beginning, at first I thought Declan was a total A**. But the deeper I got in to this book the more I feel so in love with Declan. He is now my #1 book boyfriend. ( I licked him so he is mine) I absolutely loved the banter between these two and the love/hate relationship. I start rooting for these two from the first running in to on the beach.
There was times in this book (not gonna lie) I was cursing Tracy and a few characters, then there was times my heart was just broke. At one point I was crying so hard I had to step away cause I could not see the words. At one point I wanted to wrap all the characters in a bear hug and never let them go.
Guys if you haven't checked out the amazing Tracy Lorraine you need to. She writes beautiful stories that will touch you soul. This book was real close to my heart since I have been through the heartache of losing someone close to me. You can tell Tracy poured her heart and soul in to this book. This book has taken the spot of my favorite of her work. This is a must read everyone!

Well, what can be said about Tracy Lorraine and her Angel series that hasn’t already been said?

It’s been a long time coming, but the wait was worth it for Dec and Nicoles story. I’m such a sucker for a best friends brother romance, and add into that childhood friend romance and it’s a double whammy!!

I felt this book was very English in many ways, being a Brit and reading lots of books by Americans and having them set in America, it’s certainly refreshing to read about my own country and read the great slang words are used every day here. I love when I read the word arse ! Also loved all the ginger references that are so true to the English but you never really see in others.

Now onto the great story. Who would of thought anger was masking their true love. And when it blew, boy was it explosive! I loved it! I thought the story was going to be the opposite, that Nic was going to be the one to be strong and help Dec heal from Hannah’s death but I was soooo wrong, and the twist with Susan almost broke my heart.

Declan’s friends were great and added another dimension and also another book soon in the future. These characters have been with us for a long time and they feel so real to me as they are so well written , down to earth and so real to life.

I can’t wait to see what Tracy comes out with next.

What a great story! I love a good enemies to lovers read and Declan and Nicole deliver an entertaining read. There were a couple of times I wanted to shake Declan, but then again I can understand why he behaved the way he did, not wanting to actually admit his real feelings for Nicole. A few twists that shook things up a bit, but in a good way and I couldn't put this book down.

The couple: Declan and Nicole

Romance genre: New adult
Series: Falling
Length:298 pages

Plot: Nicole has had a bad time of it lately, grieving for her mother. She moves to where her best friend Lilly lives, taking up an invitation to stay with her and her new husband and baby until she gets back on her feet. The only problem is Lilly's twin brother, Declan. They've hated each other forever. But Lilly somehow maneuvers Declan into giving Nicole a job at his new restaurant/shop, and Declan and Nicole slowly but surely grow closer. Lill is thrilled, but there are others who aren't as happy and who will do whatever is necessary to keep them apart.

Commentary: Why did Declan hate Nicole? We're never really told. There's some vague thought about Nicole taking up Lilly's time but there is no explanation about why he hated her so much that he tormented her, talked badly to and about her, and avoided her at all costs. There was just the expected ret-con of "oh, I see now that I always loved you and was just avoiding it because I was scared." There was literally no reason. That made character motivation and development a hard sell.
New adult books usually aren't my jam - but I end up reading them by mistake sometimes because it's not entirely clear that's what they are when I read the blurb (that, and there's always overlap between tropes/genres). But this was definitely new adult - the music used throughout the book was a dead giveaway. The minute characters start namechecking specific artists/songs (outside of nostalgia or an actual rockstar book), you know it's going to be angsty-new adult. It's not something I particularly like because I feel it automatically dates your work, and not in a good way. I always think of Patricia Cornwell and one of her earliest (maybe the first?) Kay Scarpetta novel, where her niece is patiently explaining the idea of hooking up a modem and what CompuServe is. Or J.R. Ward's earlier Black Dagger Brotherhood books (I only read the first 6, maybe, so I can't speak for the later books) where so many songs were mentioned by name (along with brand names of cars and clothes, but that's a pet peeve for a different review). Technology and music will date a book so quickly! It's not that it's bad to place a story in the context of setting, but I think it can be distracting sometimes, and I think that using specific songs as a shorthand for feelings rather than just expressing the feelings is a new adult hallmark that shows immaturity rather than growth, if that makes sense. That's just a personal preference and not necessarily a criticism. Honestly, I remember the personal importance of music as that shorthand when I was a new adult as well - feelings are hard!
Both characters were very immature - you could tell by the way they bailed at the slightest hint of conflict. Also - and I'm aware this is an American interpretation of a British-set book (and a native Englishman might see it very differently) - those people never stopped drinking! So much drinking! I have to wonder if they might have been able to make better decisions earlier in the book if they had been a little more...sober?
Anyways, it wasn't the worst new adult story I've ever read, but I just did not understand the character motivation at all. No big deal, not for me.

Loved this heartbreaking book. Declan has hated Nicole for a long time. They just couldn’t ever get along. Declan runs his own Surf shop and bar. Declan’s twin sister Lily asks Declan to give Nicole a job. He doesn’t want to at first but then he caves. He grudgingly sees that Nicole is an asset. These two have along way to go before they can even stay in the same room. But Declan has commitment issues and only has women who know the score for a hookup. Yet when his sister Lily sets Nicole up with someone, he does what he can to sabotage her date. This begins Declan’s descent into his feelings. This story was sad, funny, angst-filled and downright off the charts sexy! I laughed, I cried and at times wanted to shake Declan for being so stubborn. This story will put you through the ringer but you will come through with a satisfied sigh. Definitely recommend this book but not for the faint of heart plus it deals with death and the big “C.”

Nicole and Declan have hated each other basically their whole lives. After Nicole's mother passes away, she moves closer to her best friend, Lilly (Declan's twin sister), which means being closer to her enemy. Lilly insists that Declan offers a job Nicole when he opens his new cafe. When Declan and Nicole work together sparks start to fly. And well you know what they say, "There's a thin, very thin, line between love and hate." Will they end up falling in love or end up killing each other?

I really loved Nicole and Declan. From the very first line of this book, I could not put this book down.
This is the first book I have read a book from the Angel series and I really loved Nicole and Declan from the very beginning (yes, I had to repeat that, that's how much I loved this book, LOL ;) ). This was a very emotional book, it made me cry, like a lot, but I could not put it down, I will be reading the first three books in this series.

When I read Tracy’s books I know it’s going to be amazing but let me tell you this story is unbelievably beautiful! From the very first page, right to the very last, you are taken on an emotional rollercoaster of a ride!

Nicole and Declan are wonderful to read, I loved their banter so much and their love/hate relationship. Tracy at times had me wanting to throw my kindle or jump the book and bang the characters heads together. Throughout the whole story I was rooting for these 2 to make it.

Now parts of this story absolutely broke me, you know when reading it, it’s written from the heart. I cried so much at times and just wanted to hug the characters and hold them tight and not let them go!

Tracy is undoubtedly a wonderful and talented author, she has not only written a book that will touch many people’s lives but she has done it so amazingly beautiful. This book I would definitely love to give more than 5 ⭐️ it’s my absolute favourite of hers.

Ah Devon. You cheeky devil. Want to read about a man who can make your panties fall without even blinking? Then this is the book for you!

It follows the story of Nicole and Devon, two childhood enemies, who haven't yet realized that there truly is a very fine line between love and hate. In this case, their strong dislike for one another ends up being the detonator into what had been growing in the background for years on end.

“When Nicole walks into my office twenty minutes later, my concern about her working for me vanishes. Anger like I’ve never experienced before crashes into me, wave after wave.
“What the fuck is that?” I’m up out of my chair and cupping her face in my hands before I know I’ve moved.
“It’s nothing.”
“It’s not fucking nothing. Who the fuck did this to you?” My eyes flick between her bruised eye and cut lip. I need to know who did this so I can fucking kill them.”

I absolutely loved this book. I’d definitely give it 5+ stars if I could. The book tells the story of Nicole and Declan. She’s just buried her Mum. He’s her best friend’s twin brother. They’ve hated each other their whole lives. Or have they? I was hooked by this book from beginning to end. It was well written, progressed smoothly and logically and was full of wonderful characters, even the bad ones were well written. There’s twist and turns and ups and downs to keep the reader engrossed in the story. I’ve read a few stories from Tracy Lorraine now and thoroughly enjoyed each and every one. This is the last book in The Angel Series. I hadn’t read any of the others, but will probably go back and read them now. Thanks to Tracy Lorraine for yet another fantastic book.

I think this is my favourite book from Tracy Lorraine. I loved every word, although I did curse her for making me cry so much. Once I started Tracy had her claws into me and I was unable to put this down until I had finished (another late night reading)

I loved Nicole from the beginning and Declan is the boy you should hate but can't help but LOVE. The banter between them was entertaining and I really liked the push/pull that was going on between them. There is a fine line between love and hate.

Tracy has delivered such emotion in this book. My heart literally broke, at one point I had to put my kindle down as my I couldn't read the words and I was worried about my tears damaging it.

Declan and Nicole have known each other since they were young. Declan and Nicole hate each other. They push each others buttons or at least Declan mistreating her throughout her whole childhood.

Nicole goes through some sad life issues, grief will take a toll on a person, and she needs to get back to her old self, so she moves and decides to stay with her best friend Lilly, Declan's sister.

I liked this story. I loved how he was working out his feelings for Nicole and realizing his hate and mistreatment of her was more because he liked her. I loved hearing someone talk about how miserable he was when she moved. I wanted more elaborated on that especially a confession from his mouth. They are really cute together. I loved that they finally let go of everything and be together.

What a sweet childhood enemies to lovers story.

I NEED MORE

This is the first book in YEARS I wasn't ready to finish. I was so sad that Declan and Nicole's story was over. Lorraine could write a series about these two alone, and I would buy every one. My only complaint is how quickly it ended. I desperately want an extended epilogue with more detail about the wedding and their future. Best book I have read in a long time, and I will be rereading it sometime in the foreseeable future. Side note: if you're pervy like me, and like some smut in your romance, the chemistry, tension, and steam is off the charts. Also, I was able to guess a part of the last chapter, before the epilogue, but even as I read it I had tears in my eyes, and a huge smile. I am emotionally inept, so for me that speaks wonders about how great this book is.

This SERIES IS AMAZING!!!! Don’t pass it up!!

I have read almost all Of the Falling series (Liam and Liv’s story is next on my list) I’m thankful for waiting to read until all of them were out!! I will say that Nicole and Declan’s story is by far my favorite!!! As a daughter who lost both parent and my mom being the last one who passed (Due to a motorcycle accident at that) this story affected me tremendously!!! I laughed, cried hard, swooned and fell in Love!!! Nicole is surely my favorite character because all the feels she has is ME!! I was unsure about reading Taylor and Caleb’s story however That is a close to first but placed second to my favorite in this series (Only because of Nicole)all of them are an Amazing read!! I know I’ll fall hard for Liam and Livs story too!!! Thank you for writing this series!! You won’t regret reading it!! I promise!!!

I can tell that this book was close to Tracy Lorraine's heart even before getting to the acknowledgments. It was wonderful to read Declan and Nicole's story. The story is wonderful and I love that Declan's family was supportive and not judgmental of their relationship, unlike Ryan's family. That was a rough time haha. I appreciate that Declan stepped up to the plate and that he treated Nicole as she should have been treated rather than blow her off or condemn her for the way she reacted. I also appreciate that there were no surprise pregnancies! Truly, I felt like they were being thrown at me left and right! I am happy to see Declan and Nicole's relationship blossom. I think that the only thing I would have liked is maybe some flashbacks but they weren't necessary so I understand why there weren't any.

My rating: 4/5
Hero: 4/5
Heroine: 4/5
POV: dual
Angst level: 2/5
Steam level: 2/5
Trigger/Taboe/Genre: enemies to lovers, best friends brother

Nicole lost her mom recently. She’s on her own now. She moves in with Lilly for a fresh start but she needs a job. When Declan opens his new bar Lilly convinces him to hire Nicole. He doesn’t want to but decides to give her a chance anyway. They’re fighting their attraction to each other but soon lose the battle.

Things I liked:
Nicole, she’s so strong.
Nicol is part of the family Morrison really

Things I didn’t like:
the constant push & pull
kinda dragging at the end

My opinion:
I liked the story, but it was kinda dragging at the end. I love some good enemies to lovers but I just didn’t really get why Declan hated Nicole in the first place.

FINALLY!!! These two have been poking the bear for so long that it's fun watching them still tread the waters but at least they are moving towards each other instead of away. These two have had a relationship that everyone else knew was leading to the altar they were just waiting for Nicole and Dec to figure it out. Life and circumstances put them in proximity to find out what everyone else knew. There's always some background going on with this group so it's never boring. Insecurities and old habits keep trying but their love is tired of being denied. Love this group of friends where love and support and comedy abounds. This one was near and dear after my own personal experience and yeah it just made it a little more special.

Fantastic story

This book.. I have no idea she does it. Somehow I managed not to ugly cry. Idk how but I did. I went through that with my dad and it definitely tugged at the heart strings. Nicole and Decs story is definitely one for the.. well.. books. Lol. I loved their back and forth at the beginning and how Dec was slowly pulled from ‘hating’ Nicole as realized how he felt. I loved this story so much. I couldn’t put it down and I didn’t want to. This series was the first I read from Tracy and it just keeps getting better. I will be so sad when it ends, but I seriously can’t wait for the next one. Maybe we can get BJ’s story in there too just so it doesn’t have to end so soon. I really don’t want it to end. Lol. Keep ‘em comin, Tracy. I can’t wait for the next!!

This book kept me reading to the late night.
The story about Nicole and Declan has low and high in their relationship. They know each other for long time and both try to convince everybody around that hate each other.
What others see? It’s love.....
Excellent touch on medical issues affecting families.
Nicole is going twice through this. She lost her Mum to cancer and when looks that she will live happy Declan Mum is diagnosed with cancer.
Now,both of them ,Nicole and Declan, need to support each other,to be for each other.
I did laugh and I had to run for Kleenex.
I read other books, but I think I’ll read them again very soon. The girls are like my best friends.

Declan and Nicole have a hate relationship there is no love in it at all, when Declan's twin sister Lily convinces him to give her a job at his surf shop and bar he takes a lot of convincing but he has to admit finally that she is doing a great job. When his sister connects Nicole up on a hot date he actually tries to sabotage it he doesn't know why after all he is a love and leave them type of guy and he makes that perfectly clear to anyone he dates. Why is he starting to have feelings for the woman he has always hated and will she return his feelings. He will wallow in as he tries to work out what is going on giving you some hilarious moments to laugh at.

Tracy Lorraine is my new favorite author!

"“Well then, you’ll never know that we have magical pussies. You’ll have to settle with the regular ones.” I’ve no idea where the words come from but I feel like puffing my chest out with pride when his eyes widen in response. “I happen to be a fan of the normal ones.” “Good for you. I hope one of them bites it off,”" "“Who does he think he is? Hugh fucking Hefner?”"...Twice, is how many times this book made me cry. Two, is the number of large glasses of wine I drank reading this book. And I've no idea how many times I LOL'd...I downloaded this book solely because the girl in the book has the same name as me...and I ended up reading the best book of the year!!! Kudos Ms . Lorraine Kudos!!

Lonely and alone after the death of her mum, Nicole moves to Devon to be near her best friend Lilly. Unfortunately there's a downside to this and that's Declan, Lilly's twin brother. They've hated each other since they were kids. Lives are about to change but will it be for the better?
The story embraced me from the start as Nicole and Dec embark upon their emotional and heartfelt journey. Their witty repartee had me snorting with laughter as the sworn enemies become lovers. There are some beautiful moments and touching scenes that floored me in this penultimate book in the brilliant Angel series. I loved it and highly recommend it!

This book was an amazing book to read. I loved this book. It was a captivating from start to finish. It was funny, full of banter, it had chemistry, passion, emotion, sadness, and love.

I loved Declans and Nicoles live hate relationship and there banter towards one another. Declans possessive and protective nature for her and his longing looks as well as Nicoles backlash at Declans comments towards her. There chemistry was hot and I loved the way there story unfolds. Nicole has had a very hard time and Declan is such an alpha male most of the time but starts to show a whole different side to himself.

An amazing book that one you start you just can't out down xx
