Marrying a stranger tops the list of things you should never do in Las Vegas, but I did it anyway.

The entire night was my idea. I was the one who suggested a wake-up-with-a-tiger kind of night. Instead, I woke up with a ring on my finger and Vince Rossi in my bed.

Vince, who was nothing like I thought he was and everything I never knew I needed.
Suddenly I was falling head-over-heels in love with my accidental husband and the idea of ending this union was the last thing I wanted.

I wanted forever. So what if we barely knew each other? Statistically speaking, our odds were as good as anyone’s.

Until the annulment papers landed on my doorstep…

Good Time is aptly named because this book was one heck of a good time! I haven't had so much fun while reading in quite a while. Jana's books always make me laugh, but the heroine in this book was truly a hoot. She had me cracking up. Payton was truly 'legiterally' <--You'll get it after you read ;)

If you've read Good Girl you know Payton as the crazy and impulsive best friend of Lydia who always speaks her mind, has the most random things to say, loves cheese-it's and makes her very own Trooper badges. As much as I loved Vince, Payton was the best part of this book for me. She was extra in the best way possible.

When Payton first sees Vince, it's an instant attraction. She knows he's it. He is the one she's going to marry. She just has to convince him of that. I mean, their odds can't be worse than anyone elses, right?
Fifty percent of marriages end in divorce, it’s not like people who get married on purpose know what they’re doing either.

The night that Payton and Vince tie the knot, lots of shenanigans take place. They're with Vince's friends, Canon and Lawson. I freaking loved Canon. He needs his own book asap! Anyway, once the marriage happens... what's next? That is the million dollar question.

I loved Vince and Payton together. I loved that Vince fell for Payton and loved and appreciated her exactly the way she was. It reminds me of a certain saying- 'Some people will think you're too much. Those are not your people.' Vince was most definitely one of Payton's people. I loved that Payton was always herself and never changed for anyone or anything. It's an amazing quality in a person. All of her little sayings and analogies made me smile so big.
"Loving Vince is a lot like shopping at Target.”
“Sure.” Mark nods, his face devoid of judgment because he’s an excellent work spouse. “How so exactly?”
“Well, I had no idea I needed him until I saw him. You know?”

Jana Aston delivered another fantastic rom-com with Good Time. It's hilarious, sexy, sweet, and a lot of fun! If you love romances that always make you laugh and smile, this is one you need to check out asap!

2nd read My re-read was done through audible. Narrator Erin Mallon killed it with these characters. I loved this just as much the second time as I did the first. That ending was swoon worthy!

1st read I absolutely loved Good Time!!! I just really love quirky characters who can make me bust out laughing. Payton had me rolling so many times reading this book. She's the very definition of quirky and little bit insane. I loved her. This girl was a riot.

Payton isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea because she is that silly kind of quirky and I know not everyone can appreciate that. I mean, this girl made up her own vocabulary when she couldn't find the right words she needed. I legiterally want to use them myself...and I just did and that made me happy. :)

I also really liked how bold Payton was in her sexuality. It's pretty refreshing to read a heroine who isn't afraid to ask for sex and one that has no shame with their body. Saying that, you don't see her with any other man but the hero in this book. There is no other women or men drama. It was just a fun, happy book that I truly enjoyed.

Vince. This man surprised me. I really didn't know what to expect going in and I really like what I learned about him. The whole book is in Payton's POV except the Epilogue. Despite that, the author did a great job of expressing Vince. As much as I enjoyed Payton's actions, I doubly enjoyed Vince's reactions. I gotta admit, Vince had me swooning there at the end. I wasn't expecting the big romance in this, but it's there and it hit in a big way.

If everything I said in this review sounds like something you would enjoy, then I highly recommend you read this book. You will have a good time!

Jana Aston cracks me up. Humor is incredibly subjective, but I honestly feel like, if you don't think Jana's books are pee-your-pants funny, there is something wrong with you. Probably you need glasses. And comedy classes. There. I said it. Whatever. Don't @ me!

Favourite Rom Com of 2018!!!

Jana Aston is a one click author for me. Has been since I read her first story. I adore her style of writing and am guaranteed to LOL.

Payton and Vince's story is the kind of book that had me smiling the whole way through. Payton is a nut. Total nut and I loved her. Vince is all sorts of stoic hottie & together they are Rom Com gold.

Witty one liners, seriously hot chemistry and just the right amount of feels makes this one of her best books to date. Add in side characters you'll want to be besties with and a night in Vegas everyone should experience once in their life.

I received an arc of this book.

Payton was, legiterally, one of the funniest Aston heroines and I liked the low-angst story of her and Vince. However, every time I put the book down I would completely forget about it and never felt that compulsive need to know how they arrived at their HEA.

~Second Read. First review.~

Having met Vince and Payton from the previous book Good Girl, I knew instinctively that I would love them. Who wouldn’t adore a girl who’s undeniably crazy, yet nice? It helps that she’s a total bombshell and owns it without being obnoxious. And then there is the mouth-watering Strip Club owner Vince Rossi. Cue the constant salivating…

I think I might be a porcupine. I read something once about how the female porcupine lures the male porcupines to her, selects one but then makes him wait until she’s good and ready before presenting herself for sex. Once she’s had enough, she tells the male porcupine to fuck off because she’d rather be alone.

These two meet under eye raising circumstances but Payton is adamant about sampling Vince in anyway she can get her hands on. And where he may try to resist her charms, he’s completely enchanted by her level of madness. One night, far too much tequila, and we’ve got wedding bells in Vegas.

Is it better to have fucked and lost than never to have fucked at all? Not fucked is the answer here. Not fucked, because I’d have been better off not knowing how good we were together. It’d make what comes next so much easier to handle.

It was a mistake wasn’t it? Except while Payton is running from the truth, Vince continues to impress with his tenacity and appreciation of who she is. The chemistry was fire and the banter and total nonsense that came out of Payton’s mouth was classic. Just picture Legally Blonde. There’s some sense in there somewhere. But can we just discuss Vince? Gorgeous, accommodating, an alpha in bed. What more is there to say?

MY TOP 2018 ROMCOM.

HANDS DOWN THE FUNNIEST BOOK I'VE READ ALL YEAR.

I picked up this book knowing it would be a Good Time (I know you see what I did there). I just knew because Jana Aston always makes me laugh. ALWAYS. And she did not disappoint. Seriously. There wasn't a single thing wrong with this book. In fact, everything that could go right, went right.

Payton is the friend of our Good Girl, Lydia. You remember her, right? She found love with our favorite Rhys. Payton was the crazy friend. Is the crazy friend. The kind of friend you wish you had. Especially when you get inside her head.

Which is what you get here. Payton is the funniest heroine I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. And I've met some crazy ladies in my time. But Payton is just so much fun and endearing and there's a small part of me that is just as crazy so I can totally relate to her brand of nuts.

And don't even get me started on Vince. Vince in Good Girl was a bit mysterious and had that whole "I run a strip club" thing about him.
But Vince in Good Time is just all the things. He's my number two Aston man. And I think that's because I'm stubborn and I'll never let Sawyer go. But let's talk about Vince....

Just, yes please! I'll take one sexy, broody, intense, intelligent man. I'll take him to-go. I'll take him for now. And I'll take him forever. Till death do us part.

You will too. You'll want a Vince all for yourself. But unfortunately I've already claimed him so you'll just have to bow out now.

If you've made it this far, please help me in my plea for a book about Canon. I've been wanting him to have a book for quite some time now.

“They say that love conquers all, but that’s a lie. Love fucks up all the time. I’ve seen firsthand how much love cannot conquer. Love is an asshole.”

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…Jana Aston is a freaking ROM-COM GENIUS! I’m not even playing here, folks. Her mind petrifies, excites, and captivates me one word at a time. The last time that I laughed out loud this hard was probably when she released her last book. I’m going to make this short and sweet because the more I talk about Good Time by Jana Aston, the more I want to just drop everything that’s going on in my life and immerse myself in Payton and Vince’s story ALL OVER AGAIN!

Payton is OUT OF THIS WORLD hilarious! I want to be her best friend forever. Vince is this gorgeous alpha male who is so intrigued by this quirky woman, but he lets her turn his life upside down. Together, these two are absolute comedic magic! I loved every word. I loved every scene. You can’t get much better than this book right here when it comes to original, genuine, and first-rate romantic comedy. Jana Aston, NEVER CHANGE! You are why I love this genre so damn much!

To all of Jane Aston fans, surely you guys are very very familiar with how quirky, sassy, fun and flirty her books are. See I am a fan of her. Her works make me laugh. It's always a fun experience and mood booster reading her books.

In Good Time, its not a different. Her signature is there. The quirky, sassy, fun and flirty banter is over the top. Still makes me laugh. But somehow in this book, I see something else. Its Payton. Instead of portraying her as quirky and sassy character, she sounds stupid woman. The quirkiness somehow goes over the board and makes her acting like 10 years old instead of grown adult woman.
Look at how she though a sales person as life coach because she tunes out during the sales presentation.

And toward the end of the book I got very very annoyed by her. Meanwhile Vince is being tuned out into background. He just shows up on sex scenes.

This was legiterally an adorable story. Payton was a crazy, out there, character that I found hilarious. And Vince was the perfect guy to handle her. He never tried to change her craziness and instead just hopped on that crazy trian (cue Ozzy Osbourne in your head) with her.

I legiterally don’t have words right now but I feel all kinds of giddy and happy.

Okay, so let me tell you a few things about this book.

1. You will not get thru a single page without laughing.
2. Payton: she is quirky, sweet, unconventional in every aspect of everything (lol), unintentionally over the top, knows what she wants and is not afraid to jump for it. She has her own dictionary of words that make zero sense until she explains it and then it's perfectly legit ;) A little on the crazy side and most definitely trouble with a capital T! And of course, a persnickety porcupine who's love holds no bounds and hilarious as f*ck!
3. Vince: swooooooooooooon ... that's it. That's all you need to know. He's just *happy sigh*

These three things are an absolute sure thing when it comes to this book. Anyone that disagrees is just not reading it right LOL If you read Good Girl, then you've already had a taste of Payton but trust me when I say, nothing will prepare you for her greatness. She is a breath of fresh air and this journey was way more than just a good time (see what I did there? lol). You will laugh, for sure, but your heart will also warm and you might get a little misty eyed in a few places and you will just swoon over all of it! #TRUST

(I'm ashamed and embarrassed to admit that I bought and read this thing. But I did, and here's my Amazon review to prove what bad taste I have in reading choices sometimes.)

I'll mention up front that I have enjoyed a few CRs by Jana Aston in the past, but not this one or GOOD GIRL, the one that preceded this. They are both easy-breezy reads and I can see their appeal to other readers, just not to me.

The heroine here, Payton, is best friends with Lydia, the heroine of GOOD GIRL. Both are recent college grads just starting work at a place in Las Vegas. They are both young, but Payton, in particular, is 22 going on 12, IMO. She's cute and bubbly, I'll grant you, but she's also immature, somewhat abrasive, brassy, lacking any common sense or class, has no filter on her mouth, and is up to sex with a guy she doesn't know, just because he's really, really hot.

I'm too old for this book. The heroine is, as stated, too immature for me. Now, the hero here is a 37-year-old seemingly mature and intelligent lawyer. I liked several things about him but could not figure out for the life of me how he could fall in love with bubble-headed Payton. They have nothing in common but sex and those 15 years age difference seemed more like 25 because of her excessively silly personality. Compare this to, maybe, that relationship between the Alicia Silverstone character and the Paul Rudd character in the movie CLUELESS, but then take away a good bit of the (sort of) classiness and innate intelligence of the Silverstone character when thinking about this Payton heroine of Aston's novel.

The sex, however, between the two is hot. If that's what you're looking for in a CR, then this may be a 4- or 5-star romance for you. I like to see more compatibility of mind and maturity level in my romance couples. Compatibility of sexual organs isn't enough.

YES a very GOOD TIME indeed.
This book had a whole lotta crazy going on, both storyline and characters.
I stayed up until after 2am to finish. I literally couldn't put it down. So tired right now.
I am "feeling" the love for Payton. 💕💖
Payton is such a quintessential Jana Aston type of heroine : ballsy, impulsive, slightly crazy and super hilarious to boot.
What can I say. I totally/thoroughly enjoyed this book right from the start until the very last page.
💝Perfect epilogue. 💝
Even though I didn't quite award this book a 5 star rating, I really couldn't imagine loving it anymore than I did and it certainly wasn't delinquent in anyway.
This is simply Jana Aston at her rom-com best. Entirely screwball and beyond hilarious. 😁😂
I want to read it again real soon. It "cracked" me up.

If you haven't read this author before you are so missing out and need to correct this immediately.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention this is a follow up book to "Good Girl" (Rhys and Lydia's story). There is some crossover so I do recommend reading that one first but this is absolutely my favorite of the two and also one of my most favorite Jana Aston books ever. I have read all of them (one- click author for me).

Initially when I started this, I was slightly worried that it wouldn't be for me, but my misgivings were very quickly silenced.

Peyton was, quirky, bold and generally funny as hell. Also she’s a strong leading lady, super confident in her sexuality and who she is, which was great to see/read.

I do wish it was dual POV, just so I could get some deeper insight into Vince, but the fact that it isn’t doesn’t deter from the fun you will have.

“So one look and you’re ready to spend the rest of your life with him?”
“Don’t be ridiculous. I said I might, I never said it was a done deal.”

I really didn’t know what I was expecting it but is was not this. I enjoyed this quite a lot.
This is a romantic comedy that I really LOL.
The writing was easy and fast to read. This is a book that in about 1h you finish. Witch is what happen to me and I really liked that, because I didn’t spend the entire day reading and got to do other things too.

Payton? I LOVE HER.
She didn’t annoy me at any time - which is almost impossible when it comes to female main characters - and her inner thoughts were so, so funny and relatable. Honestly? She’s the better part o f the book for me.
The male character? He’s good. At least he’s not a asshole, which is a change/different because the male character is almost always a asshole in romantic books.

The romance is adorable and the banter that they have is just great.
I like the concept of this book, and how it was played out in the course of the story.
Definitely rereading this at some point in the future.
The story is very predictable and you basically knows every thing that is going to happen, but is a good and fun way to spend time.

*I received a free copy of [title] from [publisher] via Author. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review, which is honest and unbiased *Good Time was hilarious, don't you think, Wifey? I was reading on the train back from Zurich this weekend, and I not only laughed out loud, I also snorted. Loudly. So that not only my daughter turned her head to look at me - other people on the train did as well. Payton was so funny - and she didn't even mean to be, what did you think of her?

Omigosh was Good Time hilarious!! I also giggle-snorted and I had to read parts aloud to Hubs because my reactions made him curious. Payton was funny without ever meaning to be. Being in her head, listening to her justify her actions to herself...I don't know how anyone could NOT love her! She's quirky and smart and resilient and adorable. And I just knew she'd make Vince fall. ;)

Of course, when we talk about Good Time, we have to give many, many mentions to Vince. What did you think of him? I fell in love with him. The serious guy - who is the owner of a strip-club. But who also is a really good man, one who wants order around him. And then Payton came around and brought not only a little chaos, but a lot of fun as well.

Vince. *Sigh* I fell in love with him too. The more we found out about him the more I loved him. He was a good guy - sweet, genuine, generous, compassionate. He took the time to get to know her, have fun with her. Seriously, I want a Vince of my own. (okay, not really. I am happily married. But I might see if I can get Hubs to read this one ;) )

I loved how Payton had no filter whatsoever. The things that came out of her mouth were almost unbelievable. And I loved even more how Vince dealt with her craziness. He definitely needed a little crazy in his life, and I think Payton was the perfect girl to give it to him.

Absolutely no filter. Things flew out of her mouth, sometimes when she didn't intend for them to. She was a force to be sure. The taco song?!? LOL  I loved the way he was with Payton, how he treated her. Her whirlwind of chaos and unpredictability definitely disrupted his perfect order and yet he took it all in stride. And even if she annoyed him he never showed it, just took a deep breath and considered whatever she'd done or said. The perfect guy for kismet to have paired Payton with. ;)

There are so many quotes I could share from Good Time, some that made me laugh so hard my tummy hurt. Others for Safe and Sexy (dibs for this week!!), and yet others just to show how well done the romantic elements were done. Of course, the hot scenes were scorching, so that definitely helped as well. The adventurous side of Payton, and her spontaneity went so well with Vince and his more mature ways. I actually want more of those two. I did not get enough!

I'd like more of Vince and Payton, too. They were good together - in all ways. As Payton said, you'd be surprised by how much you have in common with someone you're so different from. The sexy was smoking - just the kissing was amazing! - and Payton's openness to whatever Vince might like to do - even though he wasn't too kinky - made them a perfect pair.

I also loved how Payton talked to the reader directly. I felt like she and I were friends. And we totally could be. I'd be the more mature, and slightly calmer, older friend, though. But my, we'd have a lot of fun together.

We'd make quite the trio because I want Payton as my friend as well and you and I come as a package deal. ;) Payton's delivery made the story even more hysterical - telling me how something felt because she was certain I'd never had that happen to me or at least she hoped not because it didn't feel good. Yep. I loved the stream of consciousness. We'd have so much fun the three of us!

Do you think Aston continues to rise as a rom-com star? I think she's not at her peak yet (even if I absolutely loved Good Time!). Or maybe that's just me hoping her future books will bring me just as much joy? And now I feel like I'm thinking like Payton - all thoughts I have need to be shared with you, wifey ;)

Aston certainly continues her rise as a rom-com star! Every book has been better than the last and that's saying something since I've adored them all. With Good Time she delivered exactly that, a good time. And I'm thinking Aston will continue on this path, bring us even more goody-goodness with each book!

4.5 STARS

‘I’m having tacos with a total stranger who just happens to be my husband because I’m a complete idiot. A hot mess. A disaster of epic proportions. I’ve fucked up royally. I take another bite because really, this taco is all I have going for me right now.’

We know what to expect now when starting a book by Jana Aston, and that is to fall hopelessly in love with her characters and get a face ache from the perma grin and spontaneous laughter. Once again this is exactly what happened in Good Time. There’s something so incredibly likable about Jana Aston’s heroines. They’re quirky, positively nonsensical at times yet in the same breath we completely understand the grain of purpose or meaning which ultimately lies beneath Payton’s rather obscure observations. Good Time is told in her POV.

“You know what we could do?” I ask
“What’s that?”
“We could make out behind that pinball machine.”
“I don’t think that would work.”
“Why not?”
“Because the pinball machine is not an invisibility cloak and public fornication is illegal in Las Vegas.”
“Oh, my God. You’re a dirty talker! This is so much more than I deserve. Say fornication again.”

Honestly, this book could be a sitcom and without fail we’d tune in every week to be a part of Payton’s shenanigans. For every situation we’d find ourselves in we’d think; ‘what would Payton do.’ Mind you, her thought process is one of a kind. She’s quite possibly our favourite heroine penned by Jana Aston. Utterly ridiculous, utterly adorable, utterly compelling. We felt a kinship with everyone else in the story who came across ‘the musings of Payton’; utterly charmed yet utterly confused at the same time. Bloody brilliant. What a fantastic character.

“I don’t do crazy, Payton. Ever. I do order and logic and reason and you are none of those things.”
“I might grow on you though.”

As fascinated as we were by Payton, Vince was even more so. We met Vince in Good Girl and were already charmed by him then, so imagine our giddy excitement to delve into this story. Vince was still an enigma until about halfway through when we got a better understanding of who he is and how he lives and loves. Whilst we wished we’d had his POV to fully connect we got there in the end. And what a treat that was. What a man, a proper man with real heart and soul. We had to laugh at his utter confusion at what escapes Payton’s mouth. The whole blank face; hysterical. Trying to find rhyme or reason was at times like trying to find hay in a needle stack….

“I’m so confused, Mark. Loving Vince is a lot like shopping at Target.”
“Sure.” Mark nods, his face devoid of judgment. “How so exactly?”
“Well, I had no idea I needed him until I saw him…”
‘Mark simply blinks at me from across the table and I think it’s because that analogy was so profound he can’t find the words to reply…’

Our only issue for why we couldn’t fully enjoy the first half of this book as much as we wanted to, is that it lacked dialogue and we were ‘told’ rather than left to ‘experience’. It was such a shame as we were desperate to feel as if we were part of this story and whilst we loved the characters from the get-go, it did cause a slight detachment. The latter part was less so and we got to experience things outside of Payton’s head which really made our connection that much stronger which meant we enjoyed every single second thereafter.

“You’d be surprised by how much you might have in common with someone completely opposite from you,” I offer.
“You’ve been a non-stop surprise, I’d agree.”
“Opposites attract,” I whisper.
“Payton.”

We have to mention that ALL the characters in Good Time were fabulous, seriously we loved them all and want more, more of everyone and everything! Mark, Cannon and Lawson ALL need their own books! Is Good Time over the top, silly and full of hot nookie? Yes…yes…yes….but we bloody loved it. It made us smile, it made us proper belly laugh and it made us come over all unnecessary.

“I’m not sure that you understand the concept of negotiating.”
“Fine. What do I have that you want?”
“Everything.”

That Jana Aston is such an awesome writer!!!

This book is just so witty and entertaining. I highlighted so many parts that I loved, but it would've just been easier to highlight the entire book cover to cover since I have quite a lot highlighted.

There were so many secondary characters that I would love to see get their own books. There is Mark, Payton's co-worker at the event planning department at the Windsor hotel and casino, and whom she dubbed as her "work husband." But I don't think he is slated to have his own book because his last name isn't mentioned (I just checked again), but that may not mean anything because I don't think that Payton's last name is mentioned in Lydia's book either and Lydia's last name isn't in this book, so I do hope that Mark will get a book. I am almost sure that both Canon Reeves and Lawson McCall will get their own books because what author takes the time to give her characters last names and we won't want to know more about them in their own books? At least I think that's how Ms. Aston works.

Also, I think Ms. Aston and I have something in common - our love for that show Las Vegas with that hottie Josh Duhamel. Josh's character's name on the show is Danny McCoy which it's similar to Lawson McCall. Ok, that might be a stretch, but Canon's first name is similar to another character in the show, Mike Cannon (played by James Lesure) though the spelling is slightly different. AND this setting is in a casino hotel and so is the setting in the Las Vegas show. The characters in both show and book work for the casino. In fact, Canon is head of security and surveillance! Coincidence? I think not!

Read this book, you'll have a GOOD TIME and get your FLIRT on! You can't go WRONG, TRUST me! Especially if you're not a GOOD GIRL because this is a SURE THING and we all love that, RIGHT? *wink wink*

Genre: Romantic Comedy
Actual Rating: 5 stars

A fun and entertaining romcom that takes accidental marriage to a whole new level.

This book is so funny! I enjoyed Good Girl but this one was so much better! I was laughing out loud the entire time. I felt a deep and satisfying connection with Payton (she is truly a girl after my own heart) and I loved the plot. Who would have thought that an drunken marriage in Vegas was going to turn into something so much more? Ah! What a riot. If you are a fan of laugh out loud romantic comedies with characters who edge on the side of insanity, this is a must read for you. I already know that this is one of those books I will be re-reading in the future and I know many readers are going to do the same.

If you read Good Girl (FIND IT HERE you will recognize Payton as she was a secondary character in the book. I was crossing my fingers and hoping that she would get her own book and I am so HAPPY that she did because this book has easily made it to my top favorite list of 2018. Payton is a girl that speaks her mind. Half of the stuff she says is gibberish and doesn't make a whole lot of sense but she has conviction and can make anyone believe what she says. I had such a fun time going through this journey with her as she figured out how it would work to start dating AFTER marriage . Vince is also recognizable as he is the man behind the strip club. Remember how Lydia was "selling" her virginity in hopes that Rhys would buy it from Good Girl? Well Vince is the man who owns the club. He is definitely a swoony character and while I wish he had a little bit more of a voice through the story I really enjoyed his charming demeanor and the way he handled his new "accidental" marriage.

Overall, this is just a damn good book and one that shouldn't be missed. I have loved Jana Aston ever since she wrote Wrong (such a funny book that I highly recommend >> WRONG ON AMAZON) and I won't stop reading her books as long as she keeps writing!

Ahhhhh I love Jana Aston. Her books always put me in the best mood and I’m always so entertained and this one was no different. I loved Payton. She was a firecracker and an absolute whirlwind of a character and I want to be her best friend. Seriously. She’s the kind of friend I need in my life. I doubt I’d have a day where I wasn’t bored with her because she was so fascinating. I loved the way her brain worked and her thought process and the way she’d say the stupidest things that made no sense, but still made me cackle anyway. Getting married in Vegas is no new trope and the same goes with all of Aston’s books but I still love the way she puts a fun spin on each trope and makes it such a good experience. I liked how these characters were in their own individual ways and how Vince was so confused by her but also incredibly smitten. I’m not big on insta love/falling super fast like two weeks is an incredibly short timespan, but it worked for these characters, especially Payton. I would have expected nothing less. I loved loved this.

I was not feeling this book for the first half of it. I just found the h a bit "too" silly and "over the top" at times and it just wasn´t working for me. It did get a bit better though when I kept on reading.
I liked it but I didn´t love it and for me it was not as good as the first one.
It was absolutely not a waste of my time or anything. I just would have wanted to like it more.

DNF.

I’m laughing.

And no, not at this book - at myself.

A few pages in and I’m confused; this is not particularly unusual at 11pm on a Wednesday evening after a bottle of wine, but I digress. I’m confused because: two friends land a job at a brand new casino straight out of college? Friend one falls in love with her boss, and auctions her virginity and a strip club? Friend one makes ‘friend’ badges for friend two?

Yeah - I’ve read this story before.

So, I immediately scroll through my reviews to find ‘said’ story and alas this book is by the same author as ‘Good Girl’ said book - not that it references this information anywhere notable.

So, once that little conundrum was dealt with and I’m satisfied that I’m not reading a plagiarised story, I was happy to keep on reading.

Until around 30 percent, where I wasn’t.

This book is absolutely not sidesplittingly funny as the reviews suggest it is.

Payton, the main character’s internal ramblings were an absolute train wreck and so forced and unfunny that I had to give up!

In fact, the first book was just as underwhelming and had I known this story regurgitated the same characters, but gives us friend two’s story instead, I wouldn’t have bothered.

Jana Aston is a rom-com genius, and she proves that once again with Good Time. With an impromptu wedding, a crazy but lovable heroine and a hero who is positively swoon-worthy, Payton and Vince's story definitely lives up to its title.

"He looks like just my type. Tall, dark, handsome and hung."

Payton and Vince were two of the best characters I've read in a while. There was nothing about them that I found unlikeable, and their banter was hilarious and entertaining. Payton was so funny and outrageous, but not in a way that I found to be over the top.

"Is there anything hotter than a wedding band on the finger of a very sexy man? Like, look at that sexy mother***er committed to f***ing only one woman for the rest of his life. Rawr"

Vince was absolute perfection in every way. Sexy, intelligent, sweet and considerate. I loved the way he handled Payton. The sex between them was off the charts hot, and I found that I enjoyed their conversations just as much. I laughed out loud so many times, especially at the things that came out of Payton's mouth. And Vince's reaction to those things was equally entertaining. They were two people who should have been polar opposites, yet they were perfect for each other.

"'You are the bossiest, most aggravating woman I've ever met.'

'Tell me something I don't already know'"

In addition to the laugh-out-loud moments were some really sweet and emotional ones. Vince was an enigma throughout a lot of the story and it was great watching Payton try to figure him out. I would have loved to have his POV throughout the story but I did enjoy the mysterious aspect to his character and think that it aided in the build up of the storyline. The Epilogue was really well done and I was thrilled to finally get Vince's take on the events that went down between him and Payton. Their story was perfectly imperfect, and suited them so well. The side characters were another great part of the story, and I loved seeing Lydia and Rhys again. I am really hoping to get Canon's story soon, because he certainly brings his own brand of hilarity to any situation and I think that his book would be epic. Good Time is a funny and enjoyable story that definitely should not be missed.
