There is so much to be said about this story - I read it days and days ago and yet putting into words the raw emotion I feel, doesn’t do it justice. While it is whimsical and romantic - it truly is about forgiving yourself and finding your self-worth. It’s about hope and love and redemption.

Mia Sheridan is a masterful writer but in ‘The Wish Collector’ she weaves a hauntingly beautiful tapestry of love and loss and of pain and atonement.

Jonah has made mistakes and he pays for them every day of his life. He can’t find it within himself to find forgiveness and he lives a life of complete solitude, hiding from the world, as he feels that’s how he should pay his dues. When Clara makes an unselfish wish at the wishing wall on his property, everything changes. Jonah is drawn to her, her kindness, her selflessness.

I loved the slow build of Jonah and Clara’s friendship and how it evolves. It’s so sweet and endearing and I couldn’t get enough of their interactions. Jonah is so broken, it was beautiful to watch the light slowly creep back into him.

I loved the mysteries of the stories and the uncovering of truths and corruption, the reclaiming of life, the finding of purpose, and most of all, the hope and love this story is filled with. As always, Mia Sheridan’s storytelling is exquisite, transcendent and soulful, as she writes with such passion, ‘The Wish Collector’ is overflowing with it.

Both beautiful and tragic, this is the kind of story that stays with you long after the final page.

So much love for this beautifully written story about true love. It almost felt like a modern take on Beauty and the Beast or Phantom of the Opera. There was a classic feel to it, a story that can be told and re-told. I would love for a novella to be written about John and Amgelina, but that's because I'm a greedy reader!

Wow, what a surprise this one was. For me, it was magical. Mia Sheridan sure can spin a story, and I fell for both Jonah and Clara. This story goes back to the early 1800’s every now and again and has a spell involved. A tortured hero and a beautiful ballerina heroine slowly find love and overcome some painful inside and outside wounds. Love heals all. This was a real heartfelt read.

The Wish Collector was a really sweet read - Clara was such a sweetheart. I enjoyed how the 2 stories intertwined and the connection there was between the past and the present.

However, I did find the story a little slow going at times. It didn't captivate me like some of this authors other reads - but overall I did enjoy Jonah and Clara's story.

I had read this book a couple of years ago and at the time I hadn’t wrote a review. I guess I was in awe with the beauty of it and didn’t think any of my praises would be enough.

I’ll keep this simple by telling you that this was one of the most beautiful love stories I’ve ever read (and believe me, I’ve read many), and I love the main characters Clara and Jonah with all my heart.

I don’t like to reread books, but as I reread this one, I felt all the emotion it brought the first time. I can’t say if I liked it equally or even more. Thank you, Mia, for writing it.
