Witch Way to Murder & Mayhem: A Witch Way Paranormal Cozy Mystery Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 3,804 ratings

To call Gran eccentric is somewhat of an understatement. She has questionable fashion sense, cough, can anyone say bedazzled Ugg boots and a tutu? But my Gran? She is awesome. So when she suggested I buy The Dusty Attic Bookstore I was all in, after all, what could go wrong?

Try finding my high school nemesis dead on the floor of my newly acquired store for starters. Now I’m on the suspect list! Okay, so I just need to find the killer, clear my name, and pass my witches exam. Oh, didn’t I mention that? Yeah, seems the stunt I pulled on my cheating ex-fiancee cost me not only my job but my magic.

My name is Harper Jones and this is not how I expected my return to my magical hometown of Whitefall Cove to go.

Cute, Quick, and Easy Read. I want book 2 now!!!
I always get nervous downloading books on Stuff Your Kindle Day, but when I saw a witchy version of that, I was super excited! The synopsis of this book and the fact that it is rated 4.36 with over 2,000 reviews made me say “ok” to downloading this one. This was a quick and easy read, and I thought it was so cute! The main character was relatable in the events (& actions) that led her back to her hometown. From there, you can feel the tension between her and her “high school nemesis.” When the nemesis ends up dead in Harper’s newly acquired bookstore, she is thrown into “detective” mode to clear her name and finally get the “fresh start” she hoped for in Whitefall Cove. I was also thrown into “detective” mode because I wanted to figure out this murder mystery and see if Harper can get her powers back! Immediately after finishing this one, I wanted to download book 2!

Fast and funny. Keeps you guessing and laughing. Hope there is a follow up, the romance had yet to blossom.

I liked the ebb and flow of this book. She wasn't some hidden gem who solved the crime brilliantly.... it was good old fashioned deduction and clue following. This was a fun book.

This was a fun read. It's got great characters & I love Gran. It had me on the edge of my seat needing to know who done it. I can't wait to see what happens next. I also enjoyed the author 's sense of humour. There are images I never get out of head LOL

This cozy mystery is a wonderful find. A pleasant comfy read that has plenty of humour and no bad language. It is quite rare nowadays to find a series that makes you smile when you think back to what you have read. The final paragraph drags a smile from you when the tone of book two is set out for you. Mayhem - possible, more murder - almost guaranteed, more Granny - yes please, Pole dancing - close that thought.

I really enjoyed this book. While it was under 200 pages, the characters were well fleshed-out and their actions made sense. I would recommend this book for everyone who likes to snuggle up to a fire with a blanket and want a mystery you don't get nightmares from.

I urge you to read this book, even if you're already a fan of cozy mysteries. If you've not read cozy mysteries before, this is a wonderful introduction to this genre. Suitable for young adult, a clean read, stand alone but with portend for future fun.

This is a light, fun read, well plotted with a great cast of characters: our heroine, Harper, bereft of her magic as punishment, her besties Jenna and Monica, the detective Jackson and of course the irrepressible and eccentric Gran. You are led through the story and kept guessing until near the end.

Whitefall Cove is a magical town. Most everyone has some supernatural heritage. Returning for the Christmas Holidays, what Harper missed most was her magic, not her prestigious job in the library nor her cheating human ex-fiancee on whom she had publicly unleashed her magic at the Christmas Party. Aided by her Gran, Harper buys the old book store, The Dusty Attic. Unfortunately when she collects the keys, the realtor is found dead in the shop. Given the past animosity with said realtor, Harper is drawn into the mystery. Harper, Gran and her besties start a private "Book Club" to investigate and help the detective. Gran is someone special. Enjoy.
