My Favorite Band #2

The Benefits of Bad Decisions

Rate this book
Bestselling author Lisa Suzanne's rock star romance has a forbidden twist you won't see coming.

After a bad decision lands me a role on a reality show, I expect it to be my big break as a TV star. Despite getting kicked off the first night, I land on my feet again when a talent agent who saw the show offers me an audition as back-up dancer for a popular rock band.

Knowing this could be my stepping stone is exciting, but the real thrill is watching Brody bang on his drums every night. It's a bad idea for a dancer to hook up with a band member, but after he kisses me, I can't stay away.

Facing the consequences was inevitable, and it only takes one scandalous mistake from my past to cause our complete destruction.

Bad decision or not, I always manage to come out on top... until I don't.

I had such a blast reading this book! It’s absolutely a rockstar romance through and through—we get to experience MFB’s first headlining tour right along with them, witness Brody and Zoey’s whirlwind of a romance unfold, and see every repercussion their bad decisions have brought upon them. It’s sexy and steamy and has so much passion that you almost get an adrenaline rush from everything going on.

Zoey Fuller—the younger sister of VAIL’s drummer, Ethan—is tired of living in her brother’s shadow. She wants to find a big break on her own without being attached to Ethan’s name. But to what lengths will she actually go to achieve this? I honestly didn’t like Zoey in the beginning—she’s made questionable decisions I wouldn’t have agreed with at all. I didn’t like how she acted without thinking much of the feelings of those around her. Although the deeper you get into the story, the more you begin to understand her and she starts to redeem herself in a way. And the moment she meets Brody, that’s when things really change for her.

Brody Jensen—the drummer of MFB—is the epitome of a true rockstar on the rise. He parties hard, gets stupid drunk and has a pick of any girl he wants to sleep with for the night. He‘s definitely a manwhore, but he also sells himself short. He almost resented commitment and never wanted to be tied up to someone like his best friend Dax was with Kylie. He loved his freedom, especially going into their first ever headlining tour, but he never saw Zoey Fuller coming either. The moment he laid eyes on her, it was like Cupid struck him with an arrow, and the rest was history.

Lisa Suzanne certainly stayed true to how she makes us fall in love with her stories one scene, one chapter at a time. I loved that she didn’t hold anything back when it came to showing her readers the life of a rockstar. How she takes risks with where she wants her story to go, heartbreakingly painful or not. She will lay it all out for you, bringing you to your knees one minute then making you want to massage your chest to try and soothe your aching heart the next. Brody and Zoey made me laugh, but they also made me feel so damn emotional with everything that they’ve gone through in this book.

The Benefits of Bad Decisions is just the kind of romance that has all the angst and drama, but will also make you swoon down to your toes and giggle with every flirty line and dirty joke these two toss back and forth. And get ready for a massive twist that will have you picking your jaw up from the floor—it was shocking as hell, but it only heightened, intensified and brought so much more spice to the story.

If you’re looking for a rockstar romance with grit and a forbidden twist that you won’t be able to put down… one with characters that will frustrate, yet make you feel so much of what they’re going through every step of the way… pick up this bad boy and just lose yourself in Brody and Zoey’s tale. Trust me, all the heartache is worth it and you’ll find yourself smiling so big in the end.

Every time I read a book by Lisa Suzanne, I think I couldn't possibly fall in love with the characters any more than I did with that book. Zoey and Brody are no exception. This book completely owned me, every single sentence reminding me once again why I love this author's writing style so dearly, and why her words effect me every single time without fail. This was an intense, passionate love story that had all the components that I am drawn to in a romance of this kind. I was mesmerized from the very first page, and my fascination with these characters only grew as the story played out. I absolutely loved Zoey and Brody together. The two of them had crazy chemistry. From the moment they first met, you could feel the sexual tension in the air. Their road to happiness wasn't always an easy one though, but it was heartwarming when they finally got to that point. All in all, this is another fantastic story by the wonderfully talented Lisa Suzanne! She is a MUST read. ♥

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE AUTHOR. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

This is my first time actually reading this author's work, though I have picked up several of her books previously. Unfortunately for me, this was not a good introduction to her work!

First of all, it's actually interconnected to at least two other of the author's works, if not more, and this interconnection is not readily discernible from the blurb or titling of the book. For me, that's an automatic strike, because my OCD neurosis is bad enough that I have to read all stories in the universe previous to the current read, or else my enjoyment of the current read is spoiled. Thankfully, the interconnection in this book is done in such a way that the reader knows that more has happened in the universe, but it doesn't impact this story overmuch, though my OCD was still making me itch about reading the other books first.

Setting that issue aside, right from the get go, the book set me on edge in a bad way with the events that took place in chapter 1. I immediately formed a bad opinion of Zoey, and that didn't change easily. She does begin to grow in the story, though, and my opinion of her was gradually rising. Then, about 75% into the book, we get to know the WHY of the events of Chapter 1, and that's when everything goes to crap. I felt that 25% was not enough to fully delve into everything that was happening, and subsequently I had the sense of being rushed through the ugly parts. I thought Brody put Zoey on a yo-yo after the accidental reveal, and it wasn't a good one. I really wanted to have Zoey just punch Brody in the nuts and walk away from him for good, he was being that much of a jerk about the whole situation! I did like how the Ugly Situation from Chapter 1 was handled, though, because it was handled in such a way to help empower other women that might find themselves in a similar situation.

The book did a wonderful job of building the relationship between Brody and Zoey, and I actually felt really connected and invested in their relationship! The "Aww!" moment at the end of the book really pulled it out for me, to the point where I felt more comfortable giving this a 3 star rating. I'm definitely willing to give the author's work a second chance after that!

*I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book*

4 Stars

First and foremost I liked seeing old characters from previous books. That was a total plus. And since this book involves Zoey Fuller, Ethan’s sister we get to see the VAIL crew and I was so here for that.

I’m not going to lie, in the beginning and a few chapters in I didn’t like Zoey. Her decisions were questionable and indeed bad. I gave her a chance and waited to see if she’d change my mind. With time I did see a different side to her and it made me understand and slowly I started seeing her in a different light. And in my eyes she did redeem herself.

Brody is the drummer of MFB. He’s a rockstar and a one-night-stand-and-leave-them kinda guy. There were quite a few times when I wanted to shake him and knock some sense into him. He’s good at keeping things inside and because of some family issues it’s easy for him to see that love is a sham.

Zoey and Brody are electric when they’re together. Their chemistry is off the charts. Though everything isn’t coming up roses, they have things to work out. And its not easy, but in the end it will be easier to breathe. Together Zoey and Brody become a team. They struggle when they’re apart, but when together, they thrive.

I love that this book is a crossover of the VAIL and MFB world. Getting to see old characters in new books is honestly the best! And since this book stars Zoey Fuller, Ethan’s sister, we got to see all the VAIL boys and their beaus a lot. I was living for it! We also got a lot of the MFB crowd ( y’all remember Dax and Kylie from Take My Heart, right?! They were so fun to see again) because this book also stars Brody, MFB’s drummer.

I was much of a fan of Zoey, not since Mark’s books and I’ll have to be honest the first few chapters of this book didn’t make me like her very much either. Her decisions were seriously questionable and indeed bad ones ( the tittle fits her!). She and Ethan had an awful past and then once he went big, she lived in his shadow... it was hard for her and although she does take ‘advantage’ of his fame and fortune, she wants to make something of herself on her own. No matter the costs. And well, I didn’t like her costs.

But... although me and Zoey had a rough start, this book did not disappoint. Lisa brought her A game once again and gave me all the fun, heat and romance I love in a rock star romance!

Watching the attraction between Brody and Zoey was so entertaining. Brody’s reaction to Zoey was everything! I love reading about their interactions and reactions to each other, how they fought their feelings and specially watching them fall in love. I love a good while-on-the-road relationship, even though theirs didn’t end in the best of terms. Yes, you read that right. I cannot forget to mention the drama, the angst and the emotional turn of events that Lisa springs on us. Although I did figure it out a little before it happened, I was still shook and you will be too, trust me.

From that point onwards the book was very emotional. We got to see Brody and Zoey try to move on from each other and failing. But also trying to get through the hard stuff in their lives. Zoey tried to redeem herself from past mistakes and get to a better place in her life. This is what I love most in Lisa’s writing and her stories. I swear she is the best at redeeming characters in my eyes and making me fall in love with them. She does it so brilliantly.

These two worked out their problems after all the turmoil and tears and it was so heartwarming to watch them find their happy place together after the heart-wrenching hiccup in their story.

Ugh. No.
One way to ignite my reigning dislike of a heroine is for her to come off like a slag in the opener. Talk about the morals of an alley cat. It pretty much sealed the deal when I found out the heroine, Zoey, wasn't an impulsive or inexperienced younger woman that could possibly get a pass for her 'bad decision,' but 33 fking years old. And she instigated it without hesitation, with barely a stab of conscience when it was over. Then, when she accomplished what she set out to do, she got loaded and made an arse of herself, flaming out in grand fashion.
Yep. I'm sooo intrigued by a heroine who pretty well epitomises insipid, immature and idiot.

Zoey is a certain type of female that I've encountered in repeated incarnations and that I really can't be arsed with. She is utterly self-absorbed, desperate to gain notice of her own merit and outside of the shadow of a successful, famous sibling. She blames her failure to do so on the success of said sibling rather than the fact that maybe she's just not got as much to offer. She's resentful. She drinks too much, repeatedly embarrasses herself, makes stupid choices. Again, a bit more leniency can be given a woman a decade younger, which is how Zoey comes off. But again - 33 years old. 33. Too old to act like a twat all the time.

So I cottoned onto the 'twist' early on and I've gotta say, it's a corker. It's pretty damn repellant and I would never, ever EVER would have been able to get past it if I were the hero, Brody. I doubt most people would have been able to. And being no fan of Zoey I rather enjoyed Brody's utter rejection of her, so obviously I am not the target audience for this book or this writer.
Sorry. I rather my heroine's have a bit of class and my heroes be more than ego-driven male sluts 'reformed' by insta-love.

I was totally immersed in this story!

I love this title .. it was SOOO fitting to the story!

I NEVER expected THAT bomb to drop .. 😲MG .. I was caught totally off guard and unaware! Totally epic twist that I didn't see coming!

When BAD decisions were made it was like watching a horror story and I found myself shouting, "DON'T DO IT!" .. and then what an about face when I'm like, "WTH, What are you waiting for?!"

While Lisa Suzanne DID NOT keep me hanging with a cliffhanger (bless her heart) she did have me turning the pages with gusto to see how any of this could be made right. The roller coaster of emotions was real and ever present .. it wasn't a "sit back and enjoy the ride" type roller coaster because that would imply it's something to look forward to. No, it's more like buckle up cause you're in for a bumpy ride, and it's gonna be crazy and twisted so hold on tight oh and don't forget to breathe!

The drama was front and center and so gutwrenching at times. My heart broke for both Zoey and Brody but for very different reasons.

And then the sexual tension was ever present all while the humor poured from both Zoey and Brody with jokes which helped to break the emotional strong hold this book held me in.

Just how bad , can bad be?!
🤔🤔 Read to find out! 😉❤

This book is PHENOMENAL! I love a good rock star romance because you get all the feels and the angst of watching them fall in love and have all that drama to deal with. Watching them work out the fans and other things that go along with being a rock stars girlfriend. In this story we get a little of everything and I have to say that I started out not really liking Zoey because of her antics but then I started to really like her once I found out why she did and acted the way she did.

Brody I loved right of the bat because he is so swoon worthy and does everything he can to be the man that Zoey deserves and yes they had their ups and downs but in the end Brody really wanted to make things work with Zoey so they tried again and they were able to work around their issues and this is where the story really stole my heart and had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see how the ending would play out.

I was going between 3 and 4 stars until that twist! Definitely didn't see that coming. I was afraid that I wasn't going to like Zoey at the beginning of this book but I quickly began to understand her character. Brody is her perfect balance and I loved reading their story.

Zoey is looking for her big break. Her brother is famous for being the drummer in Vail but she doesn't want to use this connection to help jump-start her acting career. Little does she know, her break is coming in the most unexpected way!

Brody saved this story for me. Once he was introduced and started interacting with Zoey, I couldn't put this book down!

Wow. My first book by Lisa and it blew me away. I’m not gonna lie the beginning was a little slow for me but them BAM! It took off and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Sexy rockers, a rocking romance and a twist you’ll never see coming had me on the edge of my seat. Lisa wrote a unique story with lots of romance, sexiness and unexpected turn of events to make this an amazing story. I can guarantee this won’t be my last of this author.

At first the story was slow but it became more involved, more intricate and the story became more fluid. Some bad decisions are just worth the risk.
Rock Star Romances like Brody's and Zoey's are what romance books are written about, the ups and downs and how you find your way back to each other, what can I say?? I Enjoyed It Very Much!!

This is the story of how two extremely immature people (for their ages), Brody almost twenty-eight and Zoey thirty-three, allow their thoughtless, bad decisions to nearly destroy their chance at a forever love.
The story opens with Zoey throwing herself at a Hollywood casting director and allowing him to bend her over his desk to get a spot on a reality television dating show she believes will be her ticket to fame as a television actress. Unbeknownst to Zoey the casting director is married and the father of Brody our male lead. So, you know that decision is going to come back and bite her in the ass. Back at home in Atlanta when she gets the call that she’s made the show she quits her job without notice leaving her friend and boss in a lurch. She then flies back to Hollywood where she gets drunk on the set on the first night, makes a fool out of herself and doesn’t make it past the first cut. When the episode airs, she blames the directors for putting her in a bad light rather than her own behavior. She’s living in Atlanta with her two best friends, one of whom Sawyer is a guy whom she uses like a vibrator to get herself off when she feels the need for an orgasm. The other has been her BFF since college and oh, she slept with Zoey’s older brother. She drinks too much too often, has lost any regard for sex as anything other than a physical act for her personal pleasure or in the case of the casting director to achieve her goals. Basically, she’s a hot mess.
We met Brody in the previous book “Take My Heart” (Dax and Kylie’s romance) as the drummer in the up and coming pop/rock band MFB. When Brody isn’t on stage banging his drums, he’s trying to bang co-eds from nearby San Diego State, (or any other willing female) he picks up in bars where he spends his free time getting drunk when he’s not getting drunk at home with his buds or playing video games. Brody is still pissed that his best friend Dax, the bands front man is in a serious relationship with Kylie the band’s manager and is no longer willing to be his wingman in his nights of debauchery. He’s pretty much an adolescent in the body of a grown man.
Quite honestly, I don’t know if I’ve ever read a contemporary romance where both lead characters start out so unlikable. Zoey’s backstory is she grew up in a home with her older brother where her father spent her entire life in prison and her mother spent it going from man to man and self-medicating herself to numbness until she overdoses and kills herself when Zoey was in her twenties. Zoey’s older brother is the drummer for Vail an iconic rock band which makes him a legitimate rock superstar. Zoey longs to be famous in her own right so badly she’s willing to bang a casting director to get her hopefully big break. Brody’s father, said casting director gives Brody serious daddy issues. While he’s been a decent father he’s also been an unfaithful husband spending his work weeks in his L.A. apartment banging starlets while Brody and his family live in San Diego. Brody both hates his father for his unfaithfulness and the phony picture of a happy couple he and his long suffering mother portray while also longing for his approval. So seeing his parents unhappy marriage, Brody has convinced himself that a real relationship isn’t something he wants. Call me judgmental but I don’t think either of their stories justifies the way they’re living their lives at their ages. At some point you have to take responsibility for your own decisions.
With a little (unknown to her) help from her brother’s best friend and band mate Mark Ashton (think Bono level superstar) with whom Zoey also had a brief sexual relationship, Zoey gets an audition to be a back up dancer for MFB on their upcoming maiden tour as the lead act. To Zoey’s credit even before she boards the plane to L.A. to meet with the band she’s beginning to reflect over her life and her bad decisions, thinking she wants to make a fresh start and not make the same mistakes. A little less self-aware, Brody is at least beginning to think that at almost twenty-eight hooking up with 18-22 year old college coeds might be a little bit creepy. The minute Brody sets eyes on Zoey he feels a pull towards her that is more than just physical lust. Zoey’s body and heart is likewise responding to the attractive bad boy. But in an attempt to reform her bad behavior ways she doesn’t just jump into bed with him. After spending a little time with her, even Brody recognizes they might have something here that could mean more than a one-night hookup. He begins to believe they might be able to have something like Dax and Kylie have. They both decide to take things slowly and get to know one another. Their busy schedules preparing for the upcoming band tour and other outside complications help them in that effort. Even going slow (by their standards) they eventually end up between the sheets where the chemistry only strengthens the bond they are forming. They come out to everyone as a real couple. Being a romantic, at this point in the story I’m starting to like and pull for this couple of idiots. Of course, I’m not so foolish at to forget there’s that little matter of Zoey having banged Brody’s father looming in the background and its far too early in the book to begin a happily ever after. Sure enough, Brody takes Zoey home to meet his family and when daddy gets home, Surprise! Zoey almost faints on the spot when she discovers Brody’s dad is the man she banged for a part on a television show. Before poor Zoey can even decide when or how to tell Brody about her previous indiscretion with his father Brody learns the secret. Okay, finding out that the woman you’re in love with has fucked your father has got to be unimaginably devastating even if it was before you met. But Brody’s resultant temper tantrum where he not only refuses to listen to her side of the story and apology, or his friends advice, but is just plain cruel to her in his actions, puts him back in the asshole category for me where he remains for much of the rest of the story. This is a contemporary romance which just about guarantees a happily ever after so of course Brody and Zoey with a lot of help from their families and friends eventually find their way to their happily ever. While I thought Brody behaved horribly through much of the story, I do get the issue he had to overcome before they could actually get there. The last couple of chapters with the happy couple were very sweet.

Jessica’s Review

Oh my. This book was a roller coaster ride and a half. The first half was happy to lucky but the the author read dove into the heart of the story and my heart broke for both characters. Zoey and Brody were like a fire when it came to their romance. It was hot and bright and just totally amazing. There are some bad decisions that are made (hence the title of the book) and they changed the corse of the book. I laughed at the jokes, I had tears when the characters were heart broken and I had hope that everything would work out.

The author did an awesome job when it came to some of the topics in this book. I won’t go into details but she did great. I love that the characters got justice and were able to work out things. I haven’t read any of this other rock star type books yet but after meeting all the awesome secondary characters I look forward to reading so of them.

I did have some issues with how it seemed something were tossed to the back burner. Like with Zoeys friends in Atlanta. They just kinda disappeared from the book. It didn’t have an impact to the story, but it was in my mind wondering about them up until the end. I can’t wait to read some more rockstar books by this author. I’m not a huge fan of rock stars but the author really had me hooked. 4 stars #2OCCJD

Gemma’s Review

The Benefits of Bad Decisions was an interesting and enjoyable story that had a really intriguing storyline that really had a lot of twists within the story hat i was not expecting. It did take me a while to get into the story and did really get into the story until Zoey joined the band and we met Brody. But once it got to this stage of the story I really got into he storyline and couldn't put the story down. I really enjoyed the band and Zoey's brother as well.

The image I had of Zoey changed throughout the storey and I really enjoy that because I felt like she really matured and grew within the story. I really felt for Zoey with the way thats eh tried to get out from under her brothers shadow and how it backfired on her. But i loved the relationship she had with her brother and his family. Making it obvious that she loved an scared for them.

Brody was the sexy rockstar that really had insecurities about making a commitment. It is obvious it is a lot deeper then just not being ready to settle down and I felt sorry for him because of these reasons. I found that Brody was a good guy that did love and care for his band as well as his mum and sisters.

I found that Zoey and Brody were great for each other and they really grew as people when they were together. They really enjoyed the way that they became friends before they got into a relationship.

The Benefits of Bad Decisions completely blew me away! Lisa Suzanne had so many twists and turns that my head was spinning! The beginning of the book was very hot and heavy, another aspect that completely caught me off guard. I don't mind when books start off like that, but it definitely surprised me! The Benefits of Bad Decisions started off with a bang, continued to fizzle and pop halfway through and ended with a bang. I really enjoyed the flow of this book!

Zoey and Brody are definitely a sexy couple, with fantastic chemistry that leaps off the pages and leaves you wishing you had a connection like theirs. I think the biggest standout of the entire body was the major plot twist that directly occured between Zoey and Brody, no spoilers but holy freaking cannoli that was DRAMATIC. But who does love a good contemporary romance book with a touch of drama?! All in all another fantastic book by Lisa Suzanne!

An Unpredictable and Unique Rockstar Romance

This is my first book by Lisa Suzanne and WOW! I was not disappointed! Zoey and Brody's story was a riveting read from start to finish filled with emotional extremes from elation to anguish ... angst to calm acceptance. Zoey and Brody's actions on their journey toward their HEA are impacted by their past experiences and strong views with regard to relationships, fidelity, marriage, and career ambitions; complex characters who as a result of well-written dialogue not only come to life but are genuine and relatable. The secondary characters add a layer authenticity and richness which creates an additional level of realism to the story and has me eager to learn more about their stories from previous books. This fast-paced read had me laughing, cursing, and tearing up multiple times throughout the story. I thoroughly enjoyed the book from start to finish because I was able to immerse myself in Zoey and Brody's world. I was sad to see their story come to a close but luckily as an added bonus Lisa Suzanne provided a link to an additional epilogue/bonus excerpt that is available online. If you enjoy Rockstar Romance and stories that will have you engaged and entertained from start to finish, don't delay in adding this incredible book to your library.

Where do I begin?

Well I guess I’ll start with the positives and say that I really did enjoy the chemistry that was built between Brody and Zoey. I liked the characters, generally speaking (everyone has their flaws), and the overall idea of the book was enjoyable.

However...

The book starts off with Zoey sleeping her way onto a reality show. I shouldn’t have known this would come back to bite her in the butt, but for some reason, I was not prepared for when it did. I’m sure everyone else figured it out but it took me until about 2 seconds before good ol’ Dad walked into the house for it to click...”Oooohhhh, that’s why that’s relevant”. Because I honestly couldn’t understand why in the world the author found it necessary to open with that.

So now that everyone knows the truth....I feel like Zoey is incredibly wishy-washy on whether she wants to take responsibility for her actions or if she wants to place all the blame on Derek. “He took advantage of me! Poor me!” But then she had made up her mind before walking in his office that she was going to do whatever it took. He didn’t bring it up, she offered. Now, I’m in no way excusing the man...he deserves every ounce of blame...but I believe that Zoey needs to be held accountable for her side. She does but then later she’s a victim.

And then the proposal. *Insert facepalm here* A KNOCK KNOCK JOKE?!?! Seriously???? I understand that crude jokes were their “thing” but using a knock knock joke to respond Yes I’ll marry you is the DUMBEST thing I’ve ever read. ANY hope I had for the book was smashed in the last chapter.

I might have been able to look through the victim mentality and was planning on giving this a solid 3.5 but the proposal ruined it.

I’d like to start by saying I wish I had known other characters in this book have already had their stories told. My preference as a reader is to read chronologically. It only enhances the experience, and I love getting to know as many characters and their background as I can. I think I would have enjoyed getting to know Ethen and Mark prior to these.

With that being said, while I did get to know Dax in a previous book I admit I enjoyed Brody’s story much more than Dax’s and I really liked Zoey.

Zoey was a bold character. She’s spent so much time in her brother’s shadow and is at the point she’s willing to do anything to get out from it. She wants to follow her passion and on her own merits, but when she finally has something, or should I say, someone to lose, she learns the hard way that her actions can have consequences. Until Brody, it never mattered before. But Brody and Zoey are kindred spirits. They share the same sense of humor and have an instant and easy going connection that just clicked. They were adorable together.

Brody has what many consider to be the “perfect family” and knowing nothing is as it truly seems, he has tried to veer away from that. Growing up, picture perfect has become synonymous with fake, so there is no interest in going for something deeper...until Zoey.

I enjoyed their story so much even though I guessed the “bad decision” early on in the story.

I don’t know how Ms Suzanne can keep coming up with such great books, but I am so glad she does. I didn’t want to put this book down once I started reading. I always enjoy catching up with characters from her previous books, and I was able to catch up with this one. When the book first started out, I was a little worried about Zoey and some of the decisions she made. She is so determined to be someone without her famous brother’s help, so this seems to be the catalyst to some of her decisions. When she finds out that her brother’s band is how the MFB band found out about her, she was ready to walk out until the drummer Brody stopped her and talked to her.

Brody is a bad boy that all the girls want to love. He has always had one night stands and then moved on. He hates what his dad does to his mother, and never wants to be like him. I can understand how this colors his outlook on marriage. Brody and Zoey are electric when they are together. I can’t believe people didn’t get burnt when they were around! Of course there is a jealous woman who tries to make things hard for Zoey and Brody to be together. I wanted to cry when Zoey and Brody broke up, and they way it went down. I could feel all the emotions they were both having. This book is a must read! I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.

Every time I think I can't love Lisa Suzanne's books any more...she releases a new one...and I'm off and running again. We are once again in the Vail/MFB world and while you can read this as a standalone, if you plan on reading any books before these, I'd do those first so you don't spoil the endings to THOSE wonderful stories. Zoey and Brody's story kind of bring three of Lisa Suzanne's worlds together in one emotional and funny as heck book (The jokes alone are worth the price of admission lol) - Vail, MFB and Reality TV. About 1/3 of the way through, you (or at least I did) kind of know where the story is going to go...how that particular moment will come to fruition and how it will eventually play out, however, is what I waited for from the moment I thought I had it figured out. I love seeing these rock star players meet their matches and finally SEE that there is more to the nameless, faceless line of women. It is awe inspiring to see the women in their lives see their true worths as well and that there is a beautiful life after bad decisions.

I love when a story starts off with a bang, and The Benefits of Bad Decisions does just that - starts with a bang and never looks back. Zoey & Brody's story will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, from start to finish. So many ups, downs, twists, and turns.....and one big halting stop in the middle that will totally throw you for a loop. But, it is such an enjoyable and fantastic ride that you won't want to get off of. Loved every minute of it!

And I have to say, that even though I love, love, love Ethan Fuller (oh how I loved his multiple appearance in this story) and the Unbreakable Thread Duet.…..The Benefits of Bad Decisions has easily become my favorite Lisa Suzanne book. I couldn't put the story down and every chance I could read it, I did - and even finished all in one day. Easily one of my top reads of 2019!

Wow!

This has to be my favorite book by Lisa. If you ever enjoyed her stories before then know this one won't disappoint! It's full of twist, turns, and bad decisions. But most of all it's full of that all consuming love that alters a person forever. The kind of love you never knew how you existed before it and couldn't survive without it.

"Be daring. Be expressive. Be bold."

Zoey and Broody are a perfect match. I like who they become together, a team. They struggle when they are apart but thrive when they are together.

This was like nothing I have read before it was better. This title really goes right along with the story and the drama of this story leaves you craving more. I couldn't believe how this story just unfolded right before my eye. You meet Ethan's sister Zoey and she turns your world upside down right next to Brody. These 2 really know how to get the emotions rolling for you. Each page had something new that keeps you on the edge of your seat. This is a must read of must reads!!!! The 2 POV story really grabs you and how each character has its own personality that rocks your socks off.

Alright y'all... I wasn't sure how I was gonna feel about Zoey after the first few chapters but im glad I hung in there and in the end she didn't disappoint. I will say that after years of living in Ethan's shadow she is making some serious questionable decisions. I really like Brody he is your typical rockstar but boy when he fell, he fell hard and fast. There banter, quick wit and there jokes are awesome! Even though there is lots of drama some good ole fashion angst and lots of love!

The Benefits of Bad Decisions by Lisa Suzanne is the story of Brody and Zoey.
Zoey is trying to find her way and thought doing a reality show might be the way. But that doesn't last but does open her to find another job as a back up dancer for a band.
Brody is the drummer in the band who is finding it hard to resist Zoey..which doesn't last long. But both have things from their past that come forward again that adds to their rocky road.
Enjoyed reading their story.
