Ten years ago, seers across the globe were wiped out, thrusting the supernatural world into figurative darkness.

When word spreads that the first new seer in a decade has been found, powerful forces will hunt her.

The dead will unite to defend her.

And a repressed sadist werelock will abandon his century-long vow of celibacy to claim her as his own.

Note: Seer is a full-length novel, but it is NOT A STANDALONE. While Seer may be enjoyed as a first read in the series, for maximum entertainment, it is recommended that you read the books that precede it.

If you love fantasy with suspiciously good looking werelocks with a dark side and hilarious witty banter and hot sex then this is the book for you 🙌🏻 I am completely obsessed with The Werelock Evolution series and Seer was one of my most anticipated releases of this spring and it did not disappoint! Kai was always my favorite male character from the series and I think Lauren’s stubborn, witty personality was the perfect match for Kai. If you read Slip of Fate and loved it but crave a little more darkness then pick this one up 😏

Seer revolves around Kai, a sexy werelock/doctor who has been (voluntarily) sexually deprived for over a century, and Lauren, a co-ed/seer who goes through life coping with her overbearing mom and crazy spirits. Under paranormal circumstances, their lives became intertwined (as well as their limbs in some parts😜) and revelations of their true selves unfold.

description

As a self-proclaimed groupie of the Werelock Evolution series by Hettie, Seer was one of the most anticipated reads for me. And I'm glad to say that it didn't disappoint in the least. (A glimpse of my fav bad boy, Alex, also made the book even more exciting.) With Hettie's classic sardonic-humor and sexual innuendos injected in every chapter, she managed to snare me once again into her werelock world.

description

In the book, Lauren was initially bombarded with problems such as mind-blowing creepy wet dreams and SGLPs (suspicious good-looking people) appearing in her life.

I wish I had that problem.

description

While Kai, curious of the pretty co-ed who tickled his pickle after years of celibacy decides to stalk said co-ed. Throwing off sugar-daddy vibes, he storms stalks into Lauren's life, craving to possess every inch of her or not, yes, nope, maybe.

description

As the story progresses, Hettie unveiled more of Kai's past which leads to more mystery and questions, which further leaves me hankering to read the second part of the duet. All in all, Seer was a captivating dark sensual read and I can't wait to find out what's next for Kai and Lauren.

Gather around girlfriends! Here’s the scoop ... ignore those public service announcements and “embrace the darkness”. If you loved or even half-heartedly liked the Werelock Evolutions, you need to read this! If you haven’t, then no worries. You should read this too!

A suspiciously good looking stranger meets an innocent sociology student at a campus coffee shop. He’s a werelock looking for humans who have clairvoyant abilities. But Kai’s encounter with Lauren has monumental consequences, for themselves and for the paranormal world. Suddenly, Kai starts to remember parts of his dark childhood that have been buried for centuries. And Lauren, suddenly assaulted by more ghosts than she knows how to deal with, feels an uncanny connection to Kai that defies good sense. Who or what is the White King? What are the secrets that the ghosts are “dying” to tell Lauren? Can Kai and Lauren satisfy their extreme desires without being destroyed by them?

I think Hettie Ivers has hit her stride with Book 6 and has delivered her boldest, most compelling, love story to date! Kai and Lauren’s story is darker, deeper, and leaves me feeling deliciously unbalanced. Seer goes farther back than any of the previous Werelock stories to deliver revelatory insights that are sometimes gut-wrenching and sometimes humourous. If you enjoy having your feelings yanked around and shaken like a dog’s chew toy then this is for you!

Seer is Part I of 2.

Holy shit. What could possibly be better than Hettie Ivers writing a book about Kai? Wait for it... Hettie Ivers writing TWO books about Kai. Seer is just the first! ISYN, people. I'm in heaven.

Lauren is the first seer to come out of the decade of no light. Seer allows us to go inside of her life, her introduction and progressing relationship with Kai, and it also gives us some much needed information about the past. I loved Lauren's ongoing self discovery and counsel from the other seers.

Kai is so layered in his depth of personality. I was/am beyond intrigued by his inner workings and history. There is still so much mystery to him! Learning about his wolf side (partially through Lauren's visions) was heartbreaking. Although, reading as he broke his dry spell mended that right up. It's definitely time for him to be saved.

New characters are introduced and others are expanded upon. Lauren's mom, Babs, was f*cking hilarious. Sexy Mike got a lot of time in the storyline (I give him Shane East's voice when he's pretending to be English) and grouchy ole Emil from the Alsace pack was running around a bit. (I'm on an alkaline diet right now. I haven't had coffee, wine, or sugar. So, I think I related to Emil the most.)

The unfolding storyline of this series is captivating. The writing in Seer is intelligent and original. Ivers takes the time the characters need in her writing...and there's smut.

* ARC was kindly provided, although I'm not sure why...I'm easy money.

I received a ARC for my honest review. Also first time writing a review but really couldn’t wait to read Seer!!

Before reading thoughts -I have been so excited for this book!

After reading thoughts - Omg when is the next book out?

I have been waiting months for this book release and I was not disappointed. I love Hettie Ivers style of writing, which I find humorous and just easy to lose yourself in the narrative. And lose myself I did, I devoured this book in one night of reading. WARNING - Seer is book 1 of a duet, but I couldn’t not read this book so here I am eagerly anticipating book 2. I’m not usually a fan of duet or trilogy books , I can’t deal with cliffhangers and the torturous wait for the next book.

Seer is book 6 in the Werelock Evolution series. If this is your first time reading the series STOP RIGHT NOW! Seriously, this is not the book to read first. You will probably be able to follow along but this book is much darker than the previous books. ( Personally my favourite is book 4 No light ) Reading the previous books first will definitely help with terminology, past events and characters.

The prologue introduced the Alpha Emil , as well as cementing my extreme dislike for Maribel.

First few chapters jump straight into sexy times with the main characters Kai and Lauren. It’s hot, but in a sinister dark messed up kind of way. Kai is struggling to repress his desire for Lauren. His last relationship with Maribel , over a century ago was a real clusterfuck. They were both damaged people in their own ways.

Kai wants Lauren, but I feel like he thinks this attraction is dishonouring his mate bond with Maribel. Maybe he’s afraid a new love interest solidifies everyone’s belief he wasn’t true mates with Maribel. Also because Kai does care about Lauren, he doesn’t want to accidentally kill her while they are having sex. Kai likes being in control ... and sex with a bit of pain. Emotional and physical pain.

“It was like something out of a horror movie! But like a really hot, kinky horror movie I’d never seen before.”

Kai throughout the book is fighting his dual personalities of werelock and wolf. It was heartbreaking delving into Kai’s traumatic past.

Lauren is a fledgling Seer. I guess like a clairvoyant? She can see the past , communicate with spirits and such. Seers were annihilated ten years ago , bringing forth the decade of no light. Lauren is trying to understand all this while dealing with a kind of man tsunami. On campus she has been labeled as the black widow because the last three guys she’s been on dates with have been attacked by a wolf. She has the crazy hot attraction to Kai. A lesser attraction to Mike. Jeff, who is constantly friend zoned. Alpha Emil who she gets bad vibes about.

“Aw, hell. What was one night of dangerous sex in an alley with a potentially psychotic killer wolverine creature who hadn’t been laid in a while?”

I loved the last scenes of Seer , hell I loved the whole book and can not wait to see what book 2 brings.

This was a long-awaited novel for me, and I was not disappointed! Kai is one of my favorite werelocks, possibly most favorite, because of his darkness. His past as the white wolf and then with Maribel screwed the poor guy up, so when he meets Lauren, this beautiful, angelic, innocent college student (who happens to be the next great Seer), there is this amazing push and pull inside of him--one part wants to devour her, "hurt" her, and the other wants to protect her. So it's a really interesting internal struggle we get to see play out for Kai that at once makes him appear vulnerable as well as dominating, which, again, was fascinating. Hettie didn't shy away from all of Kai;s sadism and darkness in this novel, for which I am so grateful. I love a flawed character. Kai is SO hot. And the rest of the plot (outside of the romantic one) was well-built and engaging. Hettie is amazing at world-building. That's one of the things I love about Hettie's work. Her smut is intelligent; it's well-crafted, and it has a strong background to click those sexy relationships into...which just makes the relationships that much more sexy. Seer is another one of those unputdownable books, and I CANNOT wait for the next part of the duet. There isn't a cliff hanger per se, and I felt satisfied with the ending. But there is definitely more to tell in the story, and more room for growth in Kai and Lauren's relationship.

A darkly captivating and enthralling new addition to an incredible series.

Hettie Ivers has penned a flawless and gripping story, and I was hooked from the first page right to the end. As a reader of dark romance, the sadistic and enigmatic doctor, Kai provided enough of an edge to whet my appetite and set my taste buds tingling.

Highly addictive characters and a thoroughly plot driven story, with a a sexy side dish that sure kept my panties wet and my eyes frantically reading, eager for more.

Character development for Lauren and Kai was on point, and even the side characters have their own unique quirks and personalities. The story flowed perfectly, and there was an exciting balance throughout of sex, action, drama and intrigue.

The world building was consistent with the rest of the books, and I enjoyed the taste and familiarity of previous characters I know and love appearing within the story.

I read this book in a single sitting, and I was unable to put it down, even to sleep!

I am eager to sink my teeth into part two when it releases and the rest of the series. Now to finish rereading the rest of the books in the series because I simply can't get enough of these Werelocks!

OMG...Seer was paranormal at its finest. Hettie Ivers is know for giving us stories that will grab you and not let go and Seer is no exception. The story was engrossing and just downright riveting. I could not put it down as I absolutely adore this style of writing.
Seer is Book 6 in the Warelock Evolution series and is the first book of a duet. I've always loved Kai and was so excited for his story and I'm pleased to say I was not disappointed. Kai is the definition of a complex yet well-developed character and we learn more about him and his past in this story. He will definitely have you intrigued and Lauren the female protagonist easily hold her own against him in this story. Yes she's the new fledgling Seer but her sassy attitude will have you wanting more. The connection between these two sizzles yet its sum total of all the characters as a whole that makes this story superb.
Be prepared to laugh, have your heart broken and everything in between as the story unfolds. Questions will be answered and new questions will arise and in the end you will be satisfied yet anxious for more.
Seer was a phenomenal read worthy of more than 5 stars. This was a great continuation to the Werelock Evolution series. I loved it and would highly recommend this page-turner to all lovers of paranormal romance.

Dark and dirty...

This book is deliciously dark, wonderfully witty and absolutely addictive...the author has a unique gift with words and has created a fabulous and vividly rich alternative world populated by a diverse group of beautiful men and women, fantastical beasts and creatures. In particular, whether they are waging wars, fussing over petty disputes, or ravishing the focus of their desires, I am completely enamoured with the werelocks who are aggressive, single minded and utterly, incandescently hot.

The protagonists, Lauren and Kai, have a sizzling connection; she is a gifted, sassy, often bemused college student, he is the epitome of an alpha werelock: obsessive, protective and possessive...oh yes and conflicted, sadistic, and celibate, in fact a dominant gorgeous mess.
But it isn’t just the main characters that I find fascinating, because the interplay between all the characters contributes to the overall magic of this series.

Anyone who has not ventured into this author’s books seriously needs to rectify the situation immediately, but be warned....once the unsuspecting reader enters this world there is no way back...I received an advanced copy of this book from the author.

Seer was one of my most expected releases for 2019, and it didn’t disappoint.
Throughout the series (which I highly recommend you read from the start as it will make the books so much more enjoyable), Kai has always been a mystery. Now we finally begin to learn the story of the last of the Arctic werewolves. Please note that this is part one of a duet.

The seers throughout the world were killed ten years ago, now the next generation of seers develops their powers—a big deal for the highly superstitious werelock community. Everybody is waiting anxiously for the promised next great seer to be found.

Enter Lauren, the granddaughter of a famous seer. She is in college, living on campus, working in a coffee shop, and mostly trying to mind her own business while doing her best to ignore all the spirits that wander around in the old buildings.
What she doesn’t know is that the werelock community is watching her closely, especially Kai, who is supposed to have an eye on her for his pack, yet his eyes are more fixed on the woman than the seer. But the other packs are on her heel as well, so Kai is by far not the only werelock roaming the campus. Large number of suspiciously good-looking people? Check.

In typical werelock manner, Kai can’t resist appearing in Lauren’s dreams and then erasing her memory of the sadistic sexual encounters he creates there. And boy, are they hot. After over 100 years of celibacy, all Kai wants and cannot allow himself is the seer he is getting too obsessed with.

While Lauren is struggling with an increasing number of visions, dreams, and spirits constantly craving her attention, Kai is fighting his attraction to the human and trying his best to stay away from her, keeping his wolf and their common sadistic longing for Lauren in check as best as he can.
But can they stay apart? Hell no!

I enjoyed this book very much and am dying to read the second part. It is, just like the other books in the series, a good mixture of the suspenseful general storyline and the story of the individual couple it is about, packed with lovable characters (and some killable ones), humour, and steaming hot (and kinky) sex. Hettie Ivers's writing has sucked me in from the first book, and I swear, that woman knows no shame, so get ready for a hot good time with the werelocks of your dreams. Haven't dreamed of werelocks yet? You will after reading Werelock Evolution!

Loved it. Although I never read one book in this series I could relate and understand the characters and story line with no problems. I was given the book by the author with her encouragement not to read the other books to see if I could understand the book series with no back ground and I have to say yes to that. I looking forward to reading the others in this series.

Damn!!! Hettie you just sweeped the floor of my feet with this book.
I have been reading this series since Slip of fate and will be reading them till she stops. I am telling you it just gets better and better and better...
The Sex Godammnit!!!!!!
" May God help you,” he swore before shoving his length hard and fast all the way into me.
I cried out and went up onto my tiptoes as he bottomed out.
He grabbed me roughly by the hips and yanked me back down, bumping hard against my cervix. “All,” he grunted. “Or nothing."
A snippet for all those who are salivating after Kai since years. He is worth it.
Now the million dollar question
Can it be read as. a "standalone"
I prefer it to be read as a part of the series. But yes people with a brief idea regarding werewolves can enjoy it to the fullest as a standalone.
Although people who are not into depraved celibate Sadistic werewolves . Please read it at your own caution.
Peace out Bitches..... Love you Hettie. Write the sequel faster ...

Since the first book I read in the Werelock Evolution Series, I fell in love with Hettie Ivers. When I heard that she was making Seer I couldn’t stop being anxious to read it. Hettie is an amazing writer with a brilliant mind. If you haven’t read her books, please do it now.

Ten years ago Seers were annihilated and Lauren is the first one to come out of the no light decade.

Kai is both a werelock and a wolf that has survived the death of his true mate. He has been a celibate for over a hundred years and has been suppressing his deviant sexual desires. He had a very traumatic childhood and reading about it was heartbreaking. What I love more is that he’s a sadist.

Lauren is a college student, very gifted and sassy. She can see the past and communicate with spirits. Lauren and Kai have a powerful connection. Their passionate raw sex is undeniable amazing. Smoking hot I would say.

This book is a most read. Is an addictive captivating series. Like I said don’t miss out on reading the whole series. My praises to Hettie Ivers for being such an amazing author. I cant wait for the next part of this story.

Exciting and imaginative PNR series with hints of darkness

When Hettie Ivers came out and announced that Seer would be darker than previous installments in her Werelock Evolution series, I got quite excited, as my tastes (in reading!) are dark and rather depraved. After having read Seer, I can say she delivered – and not! But first things first: you should really read the first 5 books in the series as the overarching story arc forms an integral part of the plot of this book and explains the prophesy, the extinction of seers, the curse and the different werelock factions.

Kai, the(anti-) hero, is at the center, as it was his dead mate Maribel that set things in motion by manipulating the border between life and death. Kai was an orphan and spent the first years of his life in wolf form and only changed for the first time at 16, so he always needed to keep a tight leash on his wolf nature. Also, he is considered an anomaly, as he survived the death of his true mate. But he has been celibate for over a hundred years and he has not only been suppressing his deviant sexual desires, but also the trauma of his childhood…

Lauren is of the generation of seers that survived the mass-killing of seers since she was a child at the time and had not yet come into her powers. But now she is not only starting to see more and more ghosts, but she dreams about being chased and devoured by a giant arctic wolf, though sometimes she also sees the wolf as a pup, being mauled and dismembered by other wolves. Also, she seems to have acquired a stalker on the campus where she studies sociology. With her powers emerging various factions seem interested in her and she has a difficult time deciding who to trust and the fact that her mom seems to have gone off the deep end is not helping either…

As to the levels of darkness, I’m a bit of two minds about this. There are explicit descriptions of raw, passionate sex, but Kai’s sadistic tendencies seem partly fueled by self-loathing and self-denial that is warring with his protective instincts towards Lauren, so it’s a good thing she is mostly on board with the rough stuff. Also, some of the more extreme stuff happens while he invades her dreams. Additionally, Kai can wipe Lauren’s mind, only she doesn’t really want to forget any of their encounters, whether imaginary or real…

I am eager to discover how the background story of the prophecy around Kai as the White King works out and how Kai’s finding another true mate plays into that development. So waiting with baited breath for the next book in this exciting and imaginative series!

I couldn't wait for Kai's story and as usual Hettie doesn't disappoint! Absolutely loved it, and the seen with Alex and Melina in the coffee shop had me actually laughing out loud. That's what is so good with all of Hetties books, you experience every emotion as it happens with the characters and actually feel part of it! Not many romance books can grip you one minute and have you laughing the next....Can't wait for book 2 of Kai and Laurens story. Hettie you have done it again, thank you..loved it!! Please don't make us wait too long for the next instalment!
If you haven't read a book from Hettie yet I recommend you start asap, you will not be disappointed.

Stranger-Danger Never Sounded So Sexy

I've been a big fan of Hettie Ivers since her debut novel and since then I can't get enough of her writing. Fans of her Werelock series will be so excited that the mysterious and white wolf king Kai has his own story. While I have to admit I was disappointed that there was so much with the other characters (a lot from her other books make an appearance in this one) I would have preferred that the focus was more on the main characters (Lauren and Kai). The story felt short, but that's just a testament to Hettie's writing. Can't get enough. Ends in a cliffhanger but can't wait to read more.

Oh my...where do I even begin. I guess I can start by saying my review will be a bit basis as I do love the Werelock Evolution series as a whole and I've always loved Kai from book one...

With that being said, this was amazing!!! I would rate a 4.75⭐ only because I wanted more steamy scenes for Kai...LOL.

This is Kai's story of finding romance after ten years of celibacy after his mate, Maribel, severed her connection from him. Kai has been a miserable werelock for years and also loyal to her. However, he has found a new female -- a human at that -- that spikes his interest.

Kai is a sweet man, but also an aggressive one. He's accustomed to pain because of his upbringing so he likes to involve that into his sex life. He doesn't do sweet romance with tender kiss and vanilla sex. No. He likes it hard, in his control and with a bit of pain and fear. Kai is very much a sadist that's been sexless for a century.

Knowing Kai throughout the series this book just made me feel all the feels for him. I always knew he had a bit of a darker side to him. Kai is comical without meaning to. He's very straight forward and knows just how dangerous he is. I do feel that he is too hard on himself at times and way too loyal to that psycho Maribel.

Lauren was an awesome character. She likes to push buttons and play for control. I loved how bold she pretended to be, but at the same time really being a scared girl. Lauren has a lot of growth and maturing to do as a Seer. I love everything about Lauren.

The romance was very much cat and mouse. Kai chased Lauren then ran. Lauren chased him then ran. They were two opposites that were meant to help the other grow. Their steamy scenes were great. Their connection was great. I enjoy them together.

I was HAPPY to see Alex, Milena, Jussara, Remy and Alessandra to make an appearance. I am a MAJOR fan of Milena and Alex -- my favorite annoyingly cute couple from the series. I loved that Remy and Jussara appeared since their book is coming out next (that preview was AH-MAZ-ING).

Mike was interesting. I did like him even though he hangs with Raul. Emil just needs to die and Lauren's mother Barbara is annoying.

Totally enjoyed this and can't wait for the second half of their story. I am just a major fan of this entire series and how much its grown. Phenomenal and comical steamy paranormal romance series that I totally recommend.

PS. If you're not into sexy or smutty scenes beware that this series is STEAMY.

Sinful, dark, twisted, intense and smoking hot, Kai and Lauren's romance gets off to an epic start in this the first book in their story. Yes, you will have to wait to see how it all concludes in the next book. Also I highly recommend that you read the other books in the Werelock Evolution series. Characters reappear, events are referenced and there are story line elements that continue to unfold as the series progresses. Please be aware that this book is extremely steamy. Kai is a sadist that has held his desires in check and been celibate for a long time. Now that his restraint is crumbling things are going to get feverishly cataclysmic. The attraction and chemistry between these two was nuclear and their scenes scorching. The story quickly pulls you in and just doesn't let go. Gripping, highly emotional, dramatic, suspenseful, dangerous, action packed, kinky, sinister and yes even humorous, this book delivers on every single level. I loved this book and I will be counting the days to the release of book two. This is my frank, freely posted review.

Just finished Seer and I’m like “OMG i need the next book like… yesterday!”.

I have been waiting so long for this book and I enjoyed so much, I really loved it. I was hooked since the first page and devoured the book in two days.

This series is (I’m not kidding) highly addictive for me and the author is one of my favorites (even though I know her books for less than one year).
Everythings was perfect in Kai’s story and I was fascinating with his struggles for control against himself:

“Please don’t hurt her … please don’t hurt her. You can do this … you don’t have to hurt her …” His whispered words were laced with disgust, weighted by doubt and self-loathing. He was talking to himself.

Plus I can’t wait to find more about the White King, the prophecy and Lauren’s role in this.

*Unfortunately*(and this is the only negative thing I have to say about the book), this is part one of two and it ends with a cliffhanger, but nonotheless a perfect and enjoyable read.

Every time Hettie Ivers releases a new book I am sure it is my new favorite. Until she releases the next one and it becomes #1!!! This latest book is no exception.
Hetties characters are always beautifully written. They have layers and history and it makes them much more relatable to the reader. Her main female character in this book seems to be the one I relate to the most. There is something about her that really resonated with me. Although a fictional character, something about her just resonates in me. That is how powerful her writing is
Although this book introduces the reader to a darker type of romance with elements of sadism, I never felt as though Hetties writing went too far. I enjoyed getting more of the backstory on one of my favorite characters of her Werelock Evolution series.
If you are looking for a dark paranormal romance then check out Hettie Ivers. This latest installment in her amazing series just leaves you wanting more! (Like foreplay!!)
Another phenomenal book and I cannot wait for the next!

Phenomenal! This beautiful sadist popped onto my Kindle and I read the whole thing in one sitting. I got Seer as a highly anticipated ARC and I’ve been waiting to post a review because honestly with Seer there was just so much information to process. This installment in the series was definitely a change of pace from the previous book Just Like Animals but then again Kai is literally an entirely different beast! Watching Kai struggle against his wolf and Lauren questioning her sanity at every turn was entertaining. There was serious moments, witty moments. Moments that I was just sitting there thinking that I was going to throw my phone if some people didn’t get their shit together lol. I absolutely loved the cameo with Alex and Milena! Always a pleasure to read scenes with them. But I have to say the character that was definitely trying to steal the show in Seer was Babs! I need SO much more of Babs in the next book. Please! Overall, Hettie’s writing as always is next level and her world building is amazing. Give me all the words!

My favourite book out of the series!
“Christ—can’t hold it … so good … so right. Fuck. Promised myself I wouldn’t kill you …”
I've been dying to get a taste of kai since book one and he did not disappoint AT ALL. 😍 I also loved Lauren! This book had really funny dialogue, burning chemistry, a plot outside of just porn 😂 and the hottest male lead ever. Goddam. One major complaint - it just ended 😩 and I can't see when the next book will be out? Also included was a exert from Remy and jassura, when will that book be out? 👏 and what do I do with myself in the meantime?! Please answer my questions I can't find answers on google :(
Also, read the book. But go ahead and read the others in the series first

This book........ wow!!! if you read the other books from the Werelock Evolution its damn good....but this book is giving me so mutch feelings! The little Kai makes me cry, so sad for the life he had, without love, family, friendship or whatever you can imagine! you just want to jump into the book to hug him!
The older version of Kai is hot, scary, sweet, and a lot more!
Lauren is a wonderful person, sassy naughty, loving, and yet much disappointed in life at an certain age.
Its a good story with some damn good sex, vriendschap, familie en other characters from the other books!

LITTLE DID HE KNOW, MY MIND’S UNSHANKABLE!

Everyone needs a Babs in their life to warn them against SGLPs. Just don’t let her convince you, you don’t need to be chased.
Everyone needs a good chase through the snow covered forest.

I have enjoyed all of these books. Humorous and gripping. This is by far, my favorite

Seer was sexy and addicting. I have been waiting to read about Kai for so long and I’m so glad Author Hettie Ivers finally wrote about one of my favorite Werelock. Kai is sexy and such a lost soul. Kai and Lauren were on fire together, no matter how much Kai was unsure of his feelings and what he shouldn’t be doing with Lauren. Each kiss, each intense stare, each breath, was so hot. These two truly belonged together. They were connected more than knew. I just have to say “WOW” to the opening scene. So hot.

This book went deep into Kai’s life past and present. I was heartbroken for Kai’s past. I can’t believe all the things Kai had gone through in his life. From being a pup to becoming the man he is now. Still lost in his past and still so protective of his heart. He wanted Lauren so bad, but yet he didn’t really know how to be with her. Their first time together so was intense and hot, I wanted more. I cannot wait to read book 2 of Lauren and Kai’s story. I swear this one was like a big tease of what’s to come. I’m so excited.
