GUARDING THE BILLIONAIRE

He’s a fast-talking, hard-hitting guy who goes to work with a weapon in his holster. He’s also sexy, loyal and damn good at his job, even when he’s guarding a billionaire boss with too many secrets.

He’s Justin Trainer.

You won’t notice me and you won’t hear me, but I’m always there, watching, listening and waiting. I’m armed, dangerous and funny as hell.

I’m the bodyguard, and I’m the guy who’ll take a bullet for you. Although I'd rather not. I’m the man in black, saving my billionaire boss from blackmailers and computer hackers—but mostly from himself.

THE NAME IS TRAINER. JUSTIN TRAINER. AND I'M THE BODYGUARD...

From laugh out loud to sobbing over your e-reader, this book duet takes you on a riotous journey behind the scenes of a billionaire hiding a BDSM secret as well as an obsession with orgies, and his luckless bodyguard at the heart of the story who has to help hide the truth.

Behind his stoic persona, former US Marine Justin Trainer also hides a wicked sense of humor as he watches the comings and goings and comings of his messed up boss.

On top of that, Trainer still has to balance trying to have a private life, working on his own love life, and also finding time to be a daddy to his daughter with an ex-wife who hates him. It’s definitely not all black and white…PART TWO of a duet with no cliff-hanger and HEA – sort of…

I absolutely loved being in Justin Trainer's head; his cynical, no nonsense snark was right up my street. He made me laugh and smile but he also made me think too. Just beautifully done and so original.

We also got a glimpse into Rachel's head in this. I can't lie, she seemed a bit, well, dull after Trainer, but fortunately we don't have long with her, it's mainly Trainer's story.

This has been a witty and original insight into his world with loads going on, especially towards the end.

I absolutely loved this. Highly recommended. Available in ku. Read Guarding the Billionaire first.

Thanks to the author for my arc.

"—Neanderthal seems to be one of her favorite adjectives when it comes to me, I have no fucking idea why—"

I thought I loved Guarding the Billionaire, but Saving the Billionaire is even better. The sexy man in black won me over in the first chapter... of the first book. His dry humor, his filthy mouth, and his internal dialogue kept me giggle-snorting from start to finish.

Justin is a caveman, badass and possessive, but with a heart of gold. If you don't believe me, just wait till you experience #DaddyTime with #PrincessLilly. You're guaranteed to melt into a puddle of goo at the sweetness of him with his baby girl...sigh.

Who wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of his attention? Well, the bad guys obviously! He's lethal with his weapon, all of them. 😉 Just ask the lucky lady on the receiving end of his charm and his 'special skills'.

The deeper I got into this story, the more invested I became, and the more I fell in love with the characters. Most of them. There's still that one who shall remain unspoken who activated my #CreepRadar from the beginning. I had my suspicions about him and it was torture waiting to know if I was right. I take my profiling very seriously and I'm keeping count of my correct guesses. I won't tell you if I was right or not, because you probably got the chills too, right? I don't want to spoil your fun, you deserve to experience the thrill.

I can tell you that I really enjoyed being inside Justin's head. He's hilarious and down to earth. He's also very smart. If I wasn't on his team, I'd just give up and not waste my time trying. He's also a wealth of info regarding military practices and terms. My favorite is, "We have a word for that in the military: SUSFU—Situation unchanged, still fucked up." I think I'll start using that when people ask me how I'm doing.
The author ticked all my boxes with these books, I can't decide which trope I appreciate the most, but I'm glad I didn't have to choose and got to experience the suspense, the laughter, and the passion without limit. I'm looking forward to whatever she has for us next. The line forms here...

5 star Review of Saving The Billionaire by Jane Harvey-Berrick

I really enjoyed the first book Guarding the Billionaire but this one was even better. From start to finish I was captivated by the story that Ms. Harvey-Berrick wove and could not put it down.

I fell hard and fast for Justin Trainer and honestly he just got even better in the second book. His outrageous inner dialogue had me laughing out loud on numerous occasions. He is an alpha through and through, not only hot but he has a heart of gold. The relationship he has with his daughter was heart melting and I loved their interactions which were laced throughout the story.

All of the characters captured and held my attention and the mystery and suspense that was woven throughout satisfied the inner mystery buff in me.

I loved how much more human Devon was in this story and I really was cheering for him to get a happily ever after as well as Justin and Rachel.

The suspense, mystery, and action was spot on and I was extremely satisfied how the author drew all the strings together to complete this story. In my opinion the ending was absolutely fitting and so much more than what I was expecting.

Trainer is back and he's just as snarky as ever.

This story picks up where the last one left off, with Anderson's team desperately trying to hide his secret life at the farm. This part of the plot takes some time to sort out, so it is not the primary focus of the book. This installment can be best broken down into 3 parts:
Trainer and his relationship with Rachel.
Anderson's new love life.
The ongoing threats to Anderson and those around him.

Trainer and Rachel
As the two POVs for this book, their romance is a big focus of this story. For me, there has never been a doubt that this couple is meant to be together. The only issue is getting Rachel to understand Trainer's commitment to her. Despite the multiple marriage proposals, she continues to believe their relationship is only temporary, particularly due to their age difference (she's older).
The couple has some minor obstacles to take things to the next level, namely Rachel's sister, Allison, who is not a fan of Trainer's, as well Trainer's sweet daughter, Lilly. Once those are sorted, it's high speed ahead! Well, not really. But their journey to a HEA is a sweet one.

Anderson's love life
Given what we learned about Anderson's preferences in book one, the direction of this story was a surprise. I won't give away any specifics, just to say the man has finally found "the one". Since romance and relationships are sort of out of his wheelhouse, he makes a lot of mistakes, all witnessed and critiqued by Trainer. However, much to Trainer's surprise, he makes things work.

Like Trainer and Rachel, I worried about Anderson's anger issues in book one, so it was nice to hear that this new love changed him for the better. Less work, more fun. Plus he actually smiles on occasion!

But with his love, comes new risks, which leads me to the third plot line.

The endless threats
As good as Trainer is, he has his hands full when it comes to protecting Anderson. He's up against the following:
Videos from the Farm
A stalker
An attack on his business
Like Trainer, I suspected one man might be behind all of the above, but it takes a long time for things to be revealed. I wish Anderson had been more aggressive in removing himself toxic situations, but with time, he realizes what is at stake - the love of his life.

The author did a good job of wrapping up all of the above story-lines to give closure to the duet. If you are looking for a sweet and sexy duet full of unexpected drama, check this one out!

Round two for another amazing suspense filled and intense journey with sexy bodyguard Justin Trainer. Trainer shockingly has found love with Rachel now if he can only get her to say yes to marry him. He never expected to love again after his first marriage fell apart. As he enjoys this new love life, the challenges of protecting Devon Anderson persist. The blackmailer is still lurking out there but even bigger is that Devon has met a woman, Maria, that has captivated him body and soul. This adds more people to protect as the threats ramp up against Devon. I loved all the twists and turns of this mystery along with being inside Trainer’s intense mind as he works through how to provide the right protection but also dealing with his shortcomings. He expects perfection from himself which means he has to find a balance and realize that isn’t always possible. His moments with his daughter, Lilly, are beautiful. The relationship that happens naturally between him and Devon and Maria is wonderful too as they trust him with their lives. And Rachel is a perfect match to keep his cocky attitude in check. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

The exciting second and concluding part of the Justin Trainer series.

Trainer is an ex-marine turned close protection operative...essentially a bodyguard.  His current assignment is the multi-billionaire Devon Anderson.  Anderson has a few skeletons in his cupboard but with a new love interest he is trying to turn, his once sorry self, into a regular human being.

Trainer has is own love-life to contend with in the form of Anderson's housekeeper, Rachel Smith, who continually turns down his offer of marriage.  Trainer is not a man to give up without a fight in any aspect of his life.

When an unknown person threatens to reveal Anderson's dirty secrets, Trainer and his team are put to the test to prevent the reveal and track down the culprit but will they be too late and what happens when the threat becomes personal? Trainer has more than his job to keep safe.

Justin Trainer is the quiet, unsung hero of many a 'Billionaire' romance.  The man in the background protecting the lead role, but this time the focus is on him.

I absolutely adore Justin Trainer.  He is the rough-around-the-edges type with a heart of gold.  His love for Rachel is only paralleled by his love for his daughter and he would do anything to protect them both.  His interaction with his ex-wife is both funny and depressing (I really don't like Carla no matter how often Justin thinks she is a good mum, she was a horrible wife!) but his inner-voice monologues are hilarious, which also includes when he's thinking about his boss.  There are good and bad times ahead for Trainer.  Threats, tears and tantrums along with love, laughter and longing will encompass everyone at Wolf Point but like any good romance there will be a 'Happily Ever After' too.

Fantastic ending to a brilliant series.

This duet was everything Fifty Shades of Gray was not, well written, humorous, full of action and likable characters. Jane did an amazing job of making Trainer a desirable and readable MC and H. He is funny, kind, caring, and human. That last point makes him thoughtful and relatable. He questions his worth, whether he is doing the right thing and he puts himself on the line repeatedly, both physically and emotionally. Rachel is a lovely foil and we get enough insight into her that I appreciated she was the right partner for him. It is amazing to me that Jane brings in all manner of kinkiness and sexual deviance without having to go into crazy detail and make the books 70% sex but make the reader accept that the situation is what it is. Anderson and Maria are cute and fun to read (which is saying a lot!) and it would be nice to get a novella about Anderson’s emotional growth and maybe a tad bit more about the screwy relationship with Fester that made him the way he is but it isn’t a requirement. I can’t highlight enough that not being a requirement means this duet was robust and satisfactory because the writing and storytelling met all my needs for this arch. I am just being greedy. I laughed, I sighed, I really enjoyed this duet and applaud the author on a job really well done.
The absolute end!

A billionaire with some dirty secrets and in love, a bodyguard working hard and falling in love as well. Let the story continue… Saving the Billionaire is set right after the first book, continuing the story from book one right away. It’s a bit crazy and over-the-top, but I love the no-nonsense Trainer and his boss Devon who’s changing a lot.
“Hope. Small word. Big meaning.”

Trainer is working hard to keep Devon safe and his secrets hidden, and that’s not the easiest thing to do. Luckily Trainer isn’t the only guy working for Devon, and he and his co-workers have their hands full. Adding a Devon in love to the mix changes the dynamics, and Trainer doesn’t know what to make of the situation. He likes the changing Devon, and he feels the object of the guy’s affection is a good influence (but Trainer can’t help feeling a bit sorry for the girl). During all what’s going on with Devon, Trainer is working on his relationship with his Rachel as well; they are an amazing couple, I love them together.
“I lay watching the two most important people in my world. Life is good.”

Like I already said, Saving the Billionaire is a bit over-the-top, but I love it. Devon lives in a crazy world where money doesn’t play a role, and Trainer’s spot-on thoughts about it are funny. He’s a normal guy who wants normal things; a good, decent life with the woman he loves and spending a lot of time with his daughter. What more does a man need?
“God, this woman. She knows … she knows me. She understands. My woman. My world. My everything.”

The bodyguard

If you enjoyed 50 shades, you will love this book. It’s Taylor’s side of the story, oops I mean Trainer’s story. Saving the Billionaire follows the story plot from 50 shades, with some tweaks here and there. It was funny, enjoyable overall a great book. Highly recommend.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I didn’t think the tales of Justin Trainer and the allusive Mr. Anderson could be any better....WRONG!! This book brought more hilarity, sexiness, brooding, and sarcastic comments from our favorite bodyguard! Justin is still protecting Mr. Anderson while still begging for Rachel to marry him while Mr. Anderson pursues something new and different with Ms. Alvarez. All the while…you feel during The Whole book the other foot is about to drop. We finally learn who the blackmailer is and does that have some repercussions for Justin and Devon.

I don’t want to give away too much in the storyline…but I loved the growth of these characters! Even though Mr. Anderson is a supporting character…you get the full effect of him being a central character because Jane Harvey Barrick’s writing is such that she gives you the complete picture! Both characters evolved so much in the two books that both would have been unchanged had they not crossed paths! Most importantly they each found extended family in the other!

Justin…the ultimate bodyguard with a foul mouth, sarcastic and a crude sense of humor…he can be my bodyguard any day!!!!

Funny, sad, entertaining and another JHB brilliant series

Justin Trainer, bodyguard extraordinaire, what a heartwarming, funny and sometimes sad story Jane has written, two men with very different backgrounds, each with their own set of problems from the past, and the patient, beautiful, inside and out Mrs Smith who is the glue between them. I loved every word of both books. I loved Mr T with his foul language and his brilliant sense of humour. I truly hope Jane may consider a book #3 to let us know how both couples have moved forward. Thank you Jane for another incredible series.

I can’t believe this book can be as hilarious as the first one, but it is. Jane Harvey-Berrick has an incredible talent to write light-hearted and funny fiction with pieces of angst and drama and mayhem. This was one totally entertaining story that kept me smiling, chortling, laughing out loud and also feeling for the characters in their search of an HEA.

In the previous book, Mr. Anderson is being blackmailed for a gazillion dollars with the menace of releasing compromising videos of the kinky activities held at the farm. Talk about your past demeanors coming to kick you in the butt. In some sense, I felt that he had it coming. But he’s a very decent fellow apart from his kinkiness and we love that he’s so in love with his Maria, so we forgive him.

Poor Justin Trainer, his bodyguard, is running ragged, while searching for intel on the blackmailer, upping the security around Mr. Anderson and his now girlfriend. All while pursuing his own romance with Mrs. Smith.

There are several security incidents, a lot of outside activities that strain Justin’s resources and patience, and meanwhile, the women are stubborn and resist close surveillance. There’s tension in the story as they live their life waiting for something to happen and then we have the spectacular finale where Trainer saves the day and is shot in an embarrassing body part. Funny until the end, a real page-turner, full of family moments, human crisis, human frailty and one wicked witch of an ex-wife, plus one precious little princess called Lily. This has been a fantastic read, and I want more Justin Trainer stories. FSOG, take a leap LOL

This conclusion to Justin Trainer’s story is everything I was hoping it would be. Justin’s narrative of the story is witty, sarcastic and pithy. His colourful language and blunt expressions are on point. This is interspersed with the occasional passage from the fragrant Mrs Smith, whose genteel optimism is the perfect foil to Justin’s forthright views.

The billionaire in question, Devon Anderson, has undergone a great transformation in his life. He’s turned his back on his previous lifestyle, which inevitably upsets those he is leaving behind and threatens those now taking their place.

Justin has his work cut out protecting his boss, the boss’s new paramour and his own love, the aforementioned Rachel Smith. The threats seems to come from left and right and our Alpha male bodyguard is in his element, tracking down bad guys and eliminating peril.

The storyline rocks along at a great pace and I devoured the book far too quickly. It is un-put-down-able.

I can’t get enough of Justin Trainer. He’s the man women want and men want to be. This reader is entirely smitten with him and could read a stack of Justin Trainer novels. The world needs more characters like him!

I loved this story so much!!! I was in love with the characters from book one "Guarding the Billionaire". Secrets, so many secrets, dirty secrets, secrets that never should have happened. But did, for many years, under the guise of a "old family friend". Our billionaire, Devon Anderson, I will admit that I didn't always like him or his actions but then he would redeem himself 100% and I was in love with his character. Hope, so much hope I felt throughout this story. Hope for him to really fall in love with Maria. She wanted a job with his company, he saw so much more in her.

The bodyguard, ah the bodyguard, Mr T., Justin Trainer. Working his way through finding the time to spend with his daughter to guarding and saving the billionaire to falling in love with the housekeeper. Rachel is so much more than the housekeeper. She really cares for Devon and wants only the best for him. Back to Justin for a minute, such a dirty mouth on him but it worked with the story and he really does try to curb it for Rachel's sake. Its a tough job balancing everything he has on his plate that he is sometimes overwhelmed, feels like he needs to quit. Attempts to quit but that gets shot down fast!!! Devon is not letting him go.

You will experience loads of emotions while reading this story, and please, please start with the first book, "Guarding the Billionaire". That's where you learn most of what makes Mr Anderson the way he is and then you can witness his rebirth in this book, "Saving the Billionaire". Have a tissue handy because you'll need it but also watch out for the bouts of "laugh out loud" moments. There are plenty so enjoy the ride and fall in love with these wonderful characters. I read the other reviews and would also love to revisit these couples several years down the line to see how they are doing and hope that Jane can find a way to sneak them in somewhere or give a "update novella".

Saving the Billionaire book 2

Loved this duet. Trainer is the best. This book is like reading fifty shades of grey from the body guards Pov. Brilliant just brilliant! I have not laughed so much reading a book with a serious story line like this had. Amazing and can't wait to read more of this author's books

While we follow Trainer around his security checkpoints and car rides, Anderson is falling in love. Remember Maria? The quirky duck trying to be a comedian to overcome her fears? That's her, and she turns that man 180 degrees. Rachel and Trainer are becoming closer than ever and his ex is still a mile wide thorn in his side. Anderson's billionaire status is bringing more trouble, and the bad guy seemed a bit obvious to me but I like how they figured things out. It was more romance and feelings this time with a subtle hint of danger. The books need to be read in order or the personalities won't make sense. I received an early copy, my review voluntarily written.

5 out of 5 stars!!!

Justin Trainer is my favorite book hero in quite some time! He steals the show even weeks after finishing the book! I loved these two books - I laughed, I cried, I swooned. I fell in love with all of the characters - even the crazy boss man!

This book was just as good as the first, if not better. The banter that Trainer has going on in his own head made reading that much more enjoyable. The drama that the boss, Anderson, added with taking on a girlfriend, Maria, was intense, but added such depth to the story. AND the fact that Justin & Rachel have their own relationship they are trying to balance was great, too. And Justin’s sweet little girl was a wonderful bonus as well!

I just adored this duet and wish there was more because I don’t think I could ever get enough of these characters.

Wow what a brilliant sequel to book one Guarding The Billionaire this book continues on with the day to day life of Justin Trainer bodyguard to the best!
The only reason I am giving this a 4 star instead of the 5plus stars it could have been was it's just too close to the 50 shades storyline for my liking.
Justin is the alpha male that you want fighting in your corner or being your man for sure!!! Hes reliable.. loving.. protective.. strong and unbelievably hot as hell!!
This book gives us the rest of the story of the journey trying to find the stalker thats hassling Billionaire boss Mr Anderson.
Bumps twists tests and more all thrown in along the way!
