Johnnie Walker is one of the most recognisable whisky brands in the world. Johnnie Walker started selling blended whisky from his Kilmarnock grocery store in 1820. The brand’s foundations were established by Mr Walker’s son Alexander who introduced the iconic bottle shape. Cartoonist John Brown designed the striding man figure that features on every bottle of Johnnie Walker to this day.
Johnnie Walker is the World’s best-selling whisky brand and is available in almost every country worldwide. Johnnie Walker Blue Label is the pinnacle of a range that includes Red, Black, Double Black, Green and Gold label variants. The core range is supplemented by various luxury, limited edition and experimental editions.
Is Johnnie Walker Gold better than Black?
A conversation that comes up a lot amongst Johnnie Walker Whisky lovers. Johnnie Walker Black Label is stronger and provides that enjoyable combination of fruit, honey and zest. Johnnie Walker Gold Label on the other hand, is a lot softer. Less of a citrus taste that packs a kick, yet more of an oaky, smokey taste. So depending on your preference of Johnnie Walker Whisky the two Whiskies are contrasting in flavour yet seem to still retain that familiar Johnnie Walker Whisky taste. But this is only the beginning of the extensive Johnnie Walker range. There are nine types of Johnnie Walker Whisky in total. Starting with Johnnie Walker Red Label all the way up to Johnnie Walker Blue Label, the pinnacle of the Johnnie Walker range, aside from the Limited Edition collection offered on rare occasions by Johnnie Walker. Blue Label is claimed to be from only one in 10 thousand casks that are of the perfect quality to produce this blend.
What’s the Best Way to Enjoy Johnnie Walker Whisky?
According to Johnnie Walker there is no right or wrong way to drink your whisky. If you enjoy drinking whisky, that’s what it’s all about. Yet they believe there are some different techniques that can enhance your Johnnie Walker Whisky drinking experience, making it even more enjoyable for you. They recommend trying different whisky glasses at different temperatures to see what suits you best. They also suggest adding a little bit of water or a mixer, but keep in mind that only you know the right drink for you.
