THE Department of Health (DoH) announced on Sunday that it would create “rapid response teams” composed of trained health workers and overseas Filipino worker-returnees from the provinces to augment the Metro Manila medical frontliners in who had been “overwhelmed” by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.

In a statement, the department said its regional directors in areas with low or without Covid cases had “committed” to deploy healthcare workers to the National Capital Region (NCR) during a Sunday meeting with Health Secretary Francisco Duque 3rd.
