THE Supreme Court (SC) affirmed with finality its decision allowing convicted drug courier Mary Jane Veloso, currently on death row in Indonesia, to testify via deposition on the human trafficking case filed against her recruiters here in the Philippines.

In a March 4 resolution received by Veloso’s lawyer only on Aug.14, 2020, the Supreme Court Special Third Division denied with finality the motion for reconsideration (MR) filed by the Public Attorneys Office (PAO), which is representing Veloso’s recruiters, Maria Kristina Sergio, also known as Mary Christine Gulles Pasadilla, and Julius Lacanilao, her live-in partner.
